Lucky you. Who knew  the Alaska rates would be so low this year. We booked a year and a half ago for our 40th anniversary thru that same famous warehouse club. Paid in full Christmas Day, and when I finally figured out how much more we were paying then if we had waited and booked, like DOUBLE, kinda makes me sick to my stomach but nothing I can do about it. SAD FACE. Leave in just over 2 weeks, not gonna let it ruin our vacation.

Same situation here. I am so frustrated.

  2. Wifi worked great for me when I was on MJ.........guess it's a hit or miss..

Sounds like you didn't really research things about MJ before you left.

As far as removing your tips,I hope your poor cabin steward was not gypped after all she did for you.

How do you know what was or was not done on my cruise? All cruises are not the same. I always research. Don't be so quick on your assumptions.

  3. I am on this ship right now. If you are a future cruiser who ends up with a smelly cabin like you have read about... it is true because we got one! #9506 stunk. I had the cleaning person change all towels and it did not help. I explained to her that the bathroom smelled like it had been cleaned with a dirty rag. She said she would put bleach in all bathroom drains and it would stop. It worked!!

There is no free WiFi on this ship. It was a promotion from the past.

They do not have tv where you can check your account balance so you do not know they are adding your gratuities on to your account each day. I knew to ask and guest relations removed ours.

They charge extra extra for California rolls at buffet! They charge extra for gelato and desserts from coffee place.

This ship is more quiet and not a lot of activities during the day.

Food is same as other Royal Caribbean ships.

    Hope this helps you!

  4. I have cabin 8586 booked on Serenade for April. I don't understand how the noise from the Centrum filters all the way out to the balcony or is it just in the cabin where people notice the noise? Am I missing something?

It is inside the cabin and only annoying if you are seeking quiet.

  5. We are onboard with you. When we met you at the pool bar the other day and you told me that you had that cabin I thought "Oh no I hope the noise does not bother her". We had that cabin once and never again. We make sure we are at least 6 or more cabins down from the Centrum like Bob said.

Hi! When I get home I will be changing the cabin numbers on our other bookings!

  6. We have always had hump balconies on Radiance Class ships and have never had noise issues. So wonder if this is fairly new. We were on Brilliance in Nov with a hump balcony and we had no issues with noise at all. We were on Deck 8

When you were on the ship, did they have a rock band in the centrum every night? I only remember piano music or soft sounds in the past. This band is good, but it should be in a club.

  7. We recently switched to 8102 on the Brilliance TA in April when it became available. My wife was worried about the noise. I said not to worry and the balcony would be awesome. I hope she does not read this thread! :D

Honestly, at this point... day 3... I would rather have no balcony than deal with this b.s.

  8. As we like to stay up late the nighttime noise won't be a problem in the evening.. What about in the mornings? Booming PA announcements? Thriller dance lessons? Any information on morning noise in these cabins would be greatly appreciated as we are In 8102 on the jewel Spring TA. Thanks in advance

Late morning, around 11 am, they had country music blasting for line dancing lessons.

  9. Just call the guest relations desk and ask for them to close the fire doors. Problem solved. There are fire doors all around the centrum.

They did put a sign on fire door saying it will be closed at 10 pm. Guess what? People open the door and do not shut it behind them!

  10. Yikes. We just booked 8102 on Jewel the other day. It's just on the other side of the elevator as yours. I did my homework, and most people mentioned the noise, if they heard any, was over by 11. I really wanted a larger balcony.

All the afts on Jewel don't accommodate 3 people. I can't get a larger balcony there.

Can you tell me if you have lounge chairs on your balcony. I know it's a different ship, but hopefully Jewel will be the same if we don't switch cabins now. I'm so disappointed.

Tonight it was disco music! Balcony has 2 chairs and one lounger and regular kind of table.

  11. I am writing this while aboard Brilliance of the Seas. We booked a hump cabin, #8088. Do not book this type of cabin if you want to sleep before 1 a.m. The bands that used to play in nightclubs now play in the centrum of the ship! The noise in this cabin is so loud! Horrible.

The guest relations person told me all ships do this now with bands.

  12. For this particular promotion I think you're going to have to actually call Celebrity or your travel agent to find out which rate programs are available. I don't know that you can tell on their website. It is available on every sailing as long as one of those rate codes are available. And on the Summit December 14 that rate code is only available on Concierge and up.

Thank you for the response. I guess they aren't going to make it easy

  13. Hello. I booked an ocean view cabin and when I called to say I wanted the drink package from the "123 Go!" deal, I was told it was not available on any cabin lower than a concierge on that particular cruise (Dec. 14 Summit out of San Juan).

    On Celebrity's website it says:

Offer only available for ocean view or higher staterooms and for Cruises sold at a Fivestar, Group X, cruisetour and ARS price program rates and cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion or price program. Offer is only applicable with the following price programs that begin with FST, TR, GRPX, ARS.

I asked how I am supposed to know what programs being with FST, TR, etc.! Person on phone told me it says so on website. I didn't see anything.

Can somebody please explain to me how I am to know which cruises and cabin categories I would be able to get the "123 Go!" deal?

    Thank you!
