  1. Ginger beer was hit or miss on the this last sailing of the Meraviglia. The only bar that had it regularly was the edge bar. On the island, the furthest bar from the ship across the bridge had it, none of the other ones did.

  2. Hi, new to MSC but status matched to Diamond. On NCL my wife and I usually book two separate cabins when they drop the single supplement charge since we get two free specialty dinners per cabin where we can each take a guest, so we take each other which works out to 5 free specialty dinners. Does the free specialty dinner work the same on MSC? If each get our own cabin could we each take the other to dinner so we’d end up with two specialty dinners instead of one?

Uh oh... I am in the second cabin from DBH. I assume this is due to noise?  Any chance they would move my cabin forward a few if I called them?

I wouldn’t worry about it. I had the cabin directly next to DBH on the Escape and the only noise you heard was from the fire door directly outside your cabin that seals off the corridor from the DBH corridor. I loved the room as I could quickly look into the BDH from the balcony to see how busy it was.

    Latitude FAQ's state:

For 3rd and 4th Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond, or Ambassador members in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered. If there is only a 3rd Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond, or Ambassador member in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered but this guest will be treated as a solo traveler who get one dinner only. The benefit is only if there are 2 guests dining on the same visit.

That’s an important distinction. For my wife and I we often book two cabins if they drop the single supplement so we can get the extra free dinner vouchers (2 per room = 4 dinners) as well as being able to double up on other perks like the shareholder credit, OBC offers, etc. This implies that we’ll still be able to do that!

  5. I love those cabins since they are so close to everything. I had the cabin next to the district brew house and it was fantastic. I could look out from my balcony and see how busy the bar was and I could quickly grab something from the bar and bring it back to room if I wanted. I also liked having my own bathroom so close to the bar. I actually have a similar cabin 3 doors down from food republic on my Joy sailing this fall.

The only negatives for the room behind the District:

    - there is a fire door right in front of this room that separates the District from the cabin hallway. You’ll hear this in the room.

    - the shuffleboard court is right outside your window, you’ll hear the clanking of the pucks.

    - that’s it…

I love being so close to the action without being at the mercy of the elevators. I guess it’s up to you where you think you’ll spend more time. (I won the drinking contest on the escape the week I had that room, lol)

I called NCL directly and had every thing applied.

Here is my update. I booked a cruise for October through a travel agent. I told him all the items I had available and he called up NCL to do the booking. He told me I could apply everything including my wife’s 10% off coupon. He came back with a price that looks like it included all of those things but when I look at my NCL account I still had two of my NCC’s and both of my $100 discounts in there so all they applied was my FCC, one NCC and the 10% off coupon. When I looked at the invoice he sent it showed the cruise fare had been dumped down from $1700 to $583 plus all the taxes and gratuities. It showed my FCC and one NCC applied and it also showed a $250 payment from the travel agent. It looks like he actually had the travel agency make up the difference since he couldn’t apply more than two items. It was pretty crazy but I am happy with the result.

We were able to apply both our FCC and two CN Certificates to our cruise next month.

As a side note, when we purchased our CN Certificates aboard the Joy this last February, I asked them if I would be able to apply them to a cruise already booked.  They told me no.  Actually, they told me no twice as I went back and spoke to someone else.    When we got home, I called NCL directly and had two Certificates applied.

interesting. Did you do this online or through a live person? When I try to book it literally tells me I can only apply two even though it shows all of the available ones I have. One I select two, the others get greyed out…

  8. Hello folks,

I remember last year when I booked a cruise I was able to apply my FCC and two Cruise Next Certs. Now when I go to book it’s telling me I can only use two items (two cruise next, one FCC and one Cruise next . I was hoping I could use the two CN’s the FCC and the $100 discount but I can’t find a way at this point.
