  1. We both cruised in The Haven as well in the YC. You won't regret choosing the YC.

Although the suites in The Haven are overall better and bigger, the service in the YC is way better than in The Haven. The downside of the Fantasia-class is the restaurant being at the other end of the ship. But this is solved on the new ships. YC is more intimate, personal and a better overall experience.

  2. The breakfast choices were much better than I had imagined would be available. Fresh fruit (peaches, strawberries bananas and oranges) sausage, bacon, cottage cheese, oatmeal (with several toppings) grits, scrambled eggs, danishes, muffins, cheeses, meats, etc. Breakfast is from 6AM to 1030AM each day including debarkation.

I'm not sure if there are any other games available on the two PS4 systems as I only saw Madden 2016 and a Lego themed game being played. I checked the cabinets around the systems and there weren't any other games to view. It could be that they are locked up somewhere and can be added if requested. I asked about 5 different workers if there were any other games and they didn't know.

There weren't kids menus posted in the specialty restaurants and they weren't open when I was by them. I would assume that the typical kids food would be available for order if they didn't choose to eat off the regular menu.

A little correction on the openings for breakfast: on port-days it opeens till 09:30.

  3. Fastest and easiest debarkation I've ever had. Literally walked off in group 9 by 730 and was waiting for our driver for an hour since I set it up to be picked up at 830.

Same here, walked off and waited for the taxi. So book a taxi ahead and you'll be fine.

  4. That's worrisome. I have a 9 yr old and 17 month old. They are relatively deep sleepers but I hope it won't wake them. I'll be extremely angered/annoyed if they wake up at all hours of the night.... I understand I chose the location but I wanted to try a new family cabin (emphasis FAMILY) and needed a balcony so I had no other choices.

We had our kids(4yr, 3yr, 6m) with us, they didn't woke up.

  5. One thing that could definitely be updated in these rooms is the light switches. The light in the walk in closet is tied into the main room lights. I brought a battery powered led light that is also magnetic to use in the closet to not wake everyone else up. Also, the curtain to block out light from the door is about an inch too short so I propped a chair against it and pushed the curtain fully closed. Also, don't place anything on the balcony to dry etc because the crews have been cleaning each day on the outside of the ship.

Totale agree on the light and curtain!

  6. I am booked in 2406, Cove Balcony. Please let me know how much noise you have over the week!

Also, can you get a photo of this cabin in relation to the Family Harbor Lounge? Can you take photos of the offerings inside the lounge?

Only if you can...thanks in advance!!

We were in 2404 last week. There's definitely noise from the galley. Not all day or night, but we woke up a couple of times every night.

2406 is only steps away from the lounge, say 10 steps.

  7. The one of the outdoor deck shot with the tables and people that area is no longer like that, it was one of the early renders as were a few of the others that you have posted. I hope the theatre does not look like the photo, it is drab like Divina, Orchestra and Poesia have better feeling and looking theatres.

Sorry, didn't know that. Strange that they were posted by the official twitter account of MSC USA today then.

  8. The Vista will dock on Moll Adossat, like all bigger cruiseships do. There are four terminals, not yet to say which one will be used for CV. But they are next to eachother, so not a real issue.

  9. My cruise departs Spain and finishes in Greece, more complications lol

Because you depart from Spain, who enforces the rules the most vigorous, you probably have to pay the standard rate of 21% on goods bought onboard and the reduced rate of 10% on bar prices. For goods(you take home) you can ask for a refund if the amount on the bill exceed 130$.

As I can find it now Italy and Greece only enforce the VAT on goods that you will take home. Which are (as a rule of thumb) mostly rated at 22% for Italy and 23% for Greece. It seems Greece isn't enforcing the 13% VAT for goods(such as drinks) consumed on board.

Here is the explanation of the legislation, that doesn't make the explicit difference between goods consumed on board and taken off the ship:

The supply of goods is taxed at the place:

where the point of departure is, if supplied on board ships, aircraft or trains during the section of a passenger transport operation effected within the Community [Article 37 of the VAT Directive]

Example 8: Goods not to be consumed onboard, bought by a passenger during a Channel crossing are taxed in the UK when the ferry leaves Dover with Calais as destination and in France when leaving Calais to return to Dover.

Example 9: For goods sold to passengers taking a flight from Malaga to Heathrow, Spanish VAT will be charged. For the return flight, UK VAT will apply.

Example 10: A shop selling goods to passengers taking a cruise from Athens in Greece to Barcelona in Spain, stopping in Italy and France for short visits but allowing no embarkation or disembarkation of passengers; Greek VAT will apply.
