Thanks everyone. It looks like the formal night is the second night (Following the Journey View method thanks Torfamm) Cruise Critic people are the best!!!
-
We are sailing on the Regal Princess Jan. 31. It is a 5 night Cruise. Princess says that there is a Formal Night but not what night. Does anyone know which night is Formal Night on a 5 Night Cruise?

My cruise on the Caribbean Princess was supposed to go to those two ports last month. We went to Belize and Costa Maya instead. We were already scheduled to go to Cozumel.
Thanks for the information.

I hope they add other ports!!! Cozumel is not far away!!

We are on the 1/31/2022 sailing on the Regal Princess. We have stops at Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios Jamaica. Are either ports currently accepting cruise ships?

Agree with others. Never had something confiscated. I was called down to the naughty room where they advised they had to hold the item and then issued a check ticket to pick up at end of cruise.
Happened to me as well.....More than once!!!!

Thanks all for the recommendations!! I will go to the Alaska forum as well. My wife pointed out that I should have noted that we are cruising the beginning of June. Does that info change anyone's recommendations?
-
My family and I will go on our first Alaska cruise in 2022. We have been on several Caribbean cruises over the years but not Alaska. I am looking for recommendations for excursions, and most important PACKING. I have no Idea what to expect for the weather and cold. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

THANK YOU!!! I would not have thought of doing that!!! Bad day when I got my phone bill!!!

Sorry to be a dinosaur what is the Celebrity App and how does it work? I can operate an iphone but not sure about costs for using apps.
The Celebrity App is an App that allows you to check in, has Express Pass, Menus and all sorts of things for your cruise. In addition it allows free texting while on board the ship. Others are probably more familiar with it and can give better information.

No cost, the app is “special”.
Thanks, that is good to know. I was concerned with getting home to a huge bill from my wife and I texting each other while on board. and I don't want to get WiFi

Is there a cost associated with texting using the Celebrity App while at sea or in Port? Do you have to have a WiFi package and text through WiFi or is the App just special?

Another thread is talking about the new Deck 10 Aqua cabins being reclassified - and it's true that deck plans have been updated etc. to reflect same - regular verandas now. Wonder if you could ask around as to why they are making this change for us?
Can you tell me what thread you saw that in? We are booked in one of those cabins in Oct.

Thanks!!! I downloaded all of them. :) How was the entertainment? How was the ship?

Thank you very much. We haven't seen much about the 3 day cruises. This will be our first time on NCL. Don't know what to expect. The Dailies will answer lots of questions. We really appreciate it.:)
-
Sailing in September hoping to see them as well!!
-
Won't know the whole list of entertainers until later in the cruise. Opening night comedian was Al Ducharme.
Will investigate other questions tomorrow, post waffle.
Looks like he won't be on our cruise. He will be in San Antonio when we sail. Too bad he is funny!!
-
We are leaving March 13th so the entertainment should be the same. Who are the comedians and other non-show entertainment? Thanks in advance.

Pack it in your checked/shoreside bags they won't take it. I've brought both a baby monitor and walkie talkies on a couple of X cruises and they worked fine. GMRS channels above 11 are fine and clear.
Another alternative is the Kids club and guest services loan out small ship radios that are receive only with a nominal deposit. You could get 2 of them then use any ship phone to call the 4 digit extension that is assigned to each phone. They are rechargeable and barely last a full day so need to be charged each night because they are so small. They have a lanyard to wear around your neck or just put in your pocket. They work just about anywhere on the ship and staff can call it to if they need to reach you if you're kids are being babysat or in kids club.
Thank you, I did not know about these radios. If my walkie talkies don't work on the Silhouette, I will have to try this. I want to keep track of my children. but give them some degree of freedom.

I have loved the review. We are on the same ship same itinerary March 13th. Your pictures, video's and humor have just made me more excited for our trip. Sorry to see the review ending. I have been along for the ride since you started the review and it has been a daily joy to read the updates.:)

I have used Walkie Talkies on every cruise I have been on with no problems. As long as you are considerate, you should not have any issues.
-
It's been talked about on here before, X always takes away any type of transmitter when boarding (ie FMS radio's, ham radio, etc).
We have used walkie talkies on the Constellation 2 times so far. They worked very well. Had no problem with X on my cruise last April.
-
Our school returns on the 6th as well. The children are looking forward to the cruise. It is coming up quickly!!!!
-
We are going to be on the Jan. 2 cruise as well. I hope there are plenty of children activities. At lease we know there will be 4 children about the same age on the ship.:)
Which night is Formal night on 5 Night Cruise?
in Princess Cruises

I am not sure how Formal it really is, but I will not have a tie either. I am on Vacation and I don't do ties on Vacation (unless my wife tells me to). I will wear a collared shirt though, probably a button-down.
