Thank you both for your replies. We are waiting to hear from our TA about the cost of Princess transfers from both airports.

My Husband and I are booked on the Caribbean Princess, leaving March 13, 2016. We were going to fly into Hobby but looking at flights/prices it looks like flying into Bush would be better.
Which airport is better? Bush or Hobby?

What are "sliders"?
We call the doors going out to the balcony sliders. Sorry for the confusion.
-
We do small dry erase boards. We pick them up at the dollar store and just leave them at the end of the cruise. We usually have two or more cabins in a row and will put the boards on the sliders that way only family will know where we are.

Shogun, I'm happy to see that you are doing well and will soon be sailing. I hope that Mrs. Shogun is well too.
Happy cruising!

Wishing you the best, Shogun. I hope that you are in and out of the hospital quickly.

I just checked on the Princess web site and all but one of your ports have the excursions listed. You should be able to check out what excursions are available and their prices and find what suites you best. Happy sailing.

We have three connecting balcony cabins on the Caribe deck on the Caribbean Princess. Can the room stewards open the doors between the balconies and leave them open for the entire cruise?
Yes they can. We had 5 cabins a row on our Alaska cruise and our steward opened all of the balcony doors for us. It made it very easy for us to go between cabins and to enjoy the outdoors all together.

My family is sailing on the Caribbean Princess next March. The plan right now is for us to fly into Hobby the day before the cruise.(We are all coming from different parts of the country and I don't want to take a chance on bad weather delaying anyone) We will take a hotel shuttle to the hotel that day and then take it back to Hobby the next morning to catch the Princess shuttle. After reading the stories about how the fog can slow everything down I am really hesitant to take a taxi/limo to the port.

We are booked in E722 and our TA has our booking marked no upgrade. Although she knows that if a suite comes available we'll take it:)

Thank you Colo Cruiser, that will make my husband very happy.

Does anyone know if the balconies on the Emerald deck are covered? My husband doesn't want anyone looking down on us. Our previous cruises we were on Caribe and Dolphin decks so no problem there.
Thanks

OP your best bet if you want to get a heavy coat is to go to REI like someone else posted. The retail stores here are like any where else no winter clothes in the summer.
I would also suggest wearing layers too. I sailed to Alaska a couple of years ago and froze with only a lightweight jacket and sweatshirt. BUT I am cold all of the time:)
Enjoy your cruise.

If you click on Renmar's site link which is part of his signature in his post above you will be able to see the view from most of the obstructed view cabins on the different classes of Princess ships.
Here is a direct link to the photo for E715 on the Golden, Grand and Star Princess.
Thank you so much for the information and the link. I think that they will be happy with their cabin.

My DD and her DH just got their cabin assignment for our upcoming Alaska cruise. We are on the Golden and they have cabin E715. Does anyone have any pictures of this cabin? Not that it matters as they are very happy to be going with us. And we have a mini suite and can share the views.

Janet, thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am loving the pictures. Our family is sailing on the Golden September 2012. We are a large group, too. (21!) Maybe the upgrade fairy will visit us like she did you!
I can't wait to read more.

Thank you that is what our TA said too. Hubby made reservations for Bush. We'll be saving $$$ by flying in there even with the transfers.
Thanks again for everyone's answers.
