  1. OK I understand about the copyrighting and using a link to it but what about all the pictures, icon, and photos from movies, books, magazines... that is next to people's names? Is that considered copyrighted. I know I am not using the correct terminology but isn't a photo, from lets say Pirates of the Caribbean, copyrighted by the movie company? I want to post a picture next to my name but not sure if it would be legal for me to use it?

  2. FYI - Wendys and Long John Silver gives discounts to anyone over 55. Sometimes you have to ask for it and sometimes you don't. I guess depending on how bad you look on certain days they just seem to know you are a member of the fabulous over 50 club. (I'm 58).

I realized that I really looked my age last year when I was boarding a tender to go back to my ship (Norwegian SUN) and two young guys working on the tender held out their hands and said, "come on granny, we'll help you onboard" :) . Guess who didn't get a tip that day :p

  3. I'm with everyone else. The idea of a floating hotel that doesn't go anywhere isn't for me. Although I wouldn't mind a 3-4 cruise to no-where as long as I had my balcony to watch the clouds and sea go by. I'm surprised that Fommer came up with that idea. Usually their writers have more sense then that. Another question to consider is how would that affect the casino? The floating hotel would have to be in a port that allows casinos in the first place.

  4. ......

The last day another letter stating that they will credit my sign and sail acct.400.00 per person............

$400 a person from Carnival? How lucky. I asked for $40.00 back for the two bottles of rum we handed over when we reboarded during one of our ports-of-call. The rum that was deliveried to the wrong cabin and we never did get them back. When I asked for a refund from corporate headquarters (all paper work for the missing rum was done before we left the ship) we were told that all they would do for us is give us a $40.00 on-board credit on our next cruise. I figured that if I had to spend another $2500 just to get the $40.00 back that belonged to me to begin with I better look for another cruise line. Which I did.

  5. Not all good TA offers perks all the time. I have a wonderful TA but when you are cruising with a goup of 400-600 other travlers a TA just can't give all of us a perk. What I like about my TA is that he always answers my phone calls or E-Mails in a timely manner. He has been in business for years so I know he is well established. And he is in good standing with our local and state BBB. He has a building with a physical address that I can walk into during regular business hours and have him (or another agent if he is out of the office) answer my questions and alleve my concerns. The owner and several of his agents are on the ship with us to help us with problems that might come up. And all of his agents are certified and keep up with local, state, national and foreign rules and regulations.

I wish I can send you his name and phone number but one of the rules of belonging to Cruise Critic (CC) is that we do not endorse any travel agent or agency and you can't blame them. They want everyone to be on a level playing field and it is only right that we give them this (level playing field).
