  1. Same thing happened to my Aug 8th departure from Copenhagen on the Baltic Capital sailing. We didn't take advantage as we used United miles to fly. I can tell you the ship was filled to capacity and unpleasantly crowded. I would seriously rethink not taking advantage and hop off an oversold ship. IMHO

  2. I've been on some cruises where they change to local time and others that use ship time.

So, my question is..during the Baltic cruise the arrival times stated on the website itinerary, are those local time? What is Princess policy with time changes in this region?

I'd like to book an independent walking tour of Tallinn. The itinerary says arrival at 8am but is this based on Copenhagen (departure port) or local time. Same goes for St. Petersburg which is another hour difference.

    Thank you for any help!

  3. Hello all! I've never done a European cruise. We will be doing the Baltic Capitals in Aug on the Regal Princess. We will be visiting Copenhagen, Oslo, Warnemunde (Germany) Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm....so many places and so many different types of currency (do ANY use the Euro?).

I was wondering...I will mostly be using a credit card...but would like to have some small change for tips and small purchases. I have a few questions:

Can I tip tour guides in US$ or do they like local $?

How is the best way to convert my money? Am I able to do this on the ship?

Do the cruise ship terminals provide exchange stations?

Not sure what my options are.

Thank you for any advice! --Michelle

  4. I'd like to use the messenger feature on our cruise next weekend. I've downloaded the app on all of our iPhones.

It's my understanding that it uses Wifi but that I don't need an internet package.

I usually travel with my phone but I only use it for pictures, notes and telling time...I usually turn cellular off and turn on airplane mode so that I don't have to worry about receiving info while I am out of the country (as I only have a US plan). How does this work (or does it) with airplane mode on?

If I have to turn airplane mode off, is it possible to receive outside texts or emails which could drive up my bill?

As you can see I'm a tech novice! Any help would be grateful.

  5. Searches but can't find answer for Regal.

I'm doing back to back and would like to do a few loads of laundry. I will bring my own pods and dryer sheets.

Do I need coins (if so how much to wash and dry?). But have also read that Regal is swipe card for laundry.!!??

Does anyone know specifically and have sailed currently?

    Thank you for any help!

  6. This will be my first time on Regal and a few years since my last Princess cruise. The last few years we've been doing RCCL (Allure and Oasis) where we need to prebook entertainment. Do we need to pre book any shows on the Regal?

I received an email stating that the original show productions are: Fiera! and Spectacular. What are your thoughts of these specific shows?

It mentions "onboard media"...are these the outdoor movies? The Man from U.N.C.L.E and The Martian. I haven't seen either and love the movies under the stars...so looking forward to those...what times do they usually play?

Again, curious about making reservations for shows and what is the feedback of said shows.

Thanks again, looking forward to our back to back sailing 12/20

  7. Perfect! I was wondering if it would work in "airplane mode", as we always set our iPhones to that setting when we travel.

We also usually turn off "cellular data" just to make sure the kids aren't sending and receiving anything that would rack up our bill.

I wonder if this app can still be used with "cellular data" turned off!?? anyone know?

    Thanks and happy sailing all!

  8. I've searched all over NCL's Latitudes website and have not been able to find an answer...

My son who is now 15 1/2 has been sailing with us with a latitudes number for years. NCL has not labeled him as a "gold" member....or any level for that matter.

When I inquired the agent was clueless and thought "maybe" he had to be 16 to be considered a past guest.

Does anyone know if minors earn nights? He is getting credit for the cruises we've taken and entered latitude numbers for?

    thank you!

  9. :confused:I'm sailing on 12/22 on Allure of the Seas. I went in a month and a half ago and booked my entertainment....Since the 90 days out, I've been trying to book dining reservations (not in speciality dining...just in the dining room as I have My Time Dining). And every night is booked solid from 6:00-8:00. It's been that was for over a month. I especially marked my calendar for the 90 days and have been checking it religiously to see when I can make a reservation. We are now 45 days out and still not able to make a dining reservation...they say they are all full every night. I've done this sailing the last 3 years and have never had a problem. My question is...is anyone else having a problem? I've called RCCL 3 times and my travel agent has called with no questions answered!

  10. Before I throw this order form away, I wanted to post it for anyone who is interested. This is the Room Service Breakfast Menu for NCL. It is quite limited and vastly different from Princess, as I think Princess had hot items. Anyway, here it is:

    "Available from 6:30am-10:00am.

Good Evening, If you want breakfast in your stateroom, please write down how many orders of each item in the space provided. Place this order form on your stateroom door handle before 4:00am. Thank you.
