Plan to go to Krazy lobster during stop in Costa Maya.

Is it difficult to get a massage if crowded? There will be 3 ships in port? What is the cost for the massages? 

Do they require a minimum to use their loungers? Want to make sure I bring enough money.

On a recent Epic cruise, I just called when I wanted ice in the late afternoon/evening.  If you place your ice bucket in the refrigerator, at least half the ice will still be there into the evening.  But with all my little snackies stashed in the refrigerator, I never had room for the ice bucket.  

Thought about putting in the fridge but won't be room if the mini bar is in it. Also, given sky is old, not hopeful it'll be cold like newer ships. Thanks anyway

Also, you can ask your stateroom steward for a an ice bucket, and/or coffee set-up (which might be available).  Note: a pleasant request and a tip do tend to help!

I was planning on asking for ice bucket but my understanding is the stewards service the cabins just in the morning. The ice will be melted throughout the day.

I'll be going on sky for 1st time and have a few questions please. 

Is there a place to get water, coffee, ice etc. at night after the buffet closes? Also, small snack like fruit? From what I've read, the Local is open but it's a sit down bar. Looking for something quick that I  can take back to my cabin. 

Assume the mdr is open for lunch on sea days. Does the lunch menu change or is it same all days?

You can see the Golden Gate sailing in and/or out, so that could be a low priority.

 

"Going to an island"? That would be Alcatraz, the famous prison. A very popular and interesting destination.

 

Muir Woods is neat and unique. Sounds like it may require a private tour in your case. It is VERY high demand to see Muir Woods, and reservations are required, which your tour would take care of.

 

Weather will not be a factor at Muir Woods, or at Alcatraz, really. Only sailing under the Bridge. It can be clear, or foggy. Won't know until a day or two before.

This will be my 1st time in San Francisco & California. I'm trying to decide if I should do a boat tour especially to aee the Golden Gate bridge and/or Muir Woods. I'll be on princess & have 2 days in San Fran. Ideally would like to find an excursion that covers both. I only saw going to an island. Are the woods worth visiting? Concerned the weather may not be ideal for viewing.  Would appreciate any input. Thank you.

Are you booking under Bella? If so, that category is guarantee only cabins. 

Would nice to have more Caribbean options on the 7 day sailings. Before Ocean Cay opened I was on sailings that went to St Maarten, St Thomas & Antigua (Antigua and St Maarten weren't on the same cruise) along with the other ports.  I have sailed longer sailings (10 & 11 nights) that included Aruba, Costa Rica, Columbia & Panama. 

I was at Taino Bay last week. The port area is beautiful. The local guides were very aggressive. My plan was to walk to the street with the umbrellas and maybe a couple other places. After nicely telling 3 of the guides no I finally was able to leave the port. I was stopped a couple of times while walking & once again declined. When I was maybe a street away from the umbrellas another guide approached me. He must've followed me. I told him no just like the others but this guide kept walking with me. I finally gave in and told myself my money could really benefit him. He walked with me to the umbrella street & another. He tried to convince me to take a taxi to the mountain and other places. I explained to him just like the others that I had been to Puerto Plata previously. I was with him less than an hour. I didn't bring much money with me so gave him $20 which he seemed happy with.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sailing solo next month and paid double. I got the least expensive cabin category. For what I'm paying, could have balcony if shared with someone else. This will be my 3rd time sailing solo with HAL. Paid double on all.

I typically book Bella. The cabin locations aren't as good as Fantasica. I had Bella balcony last cruise. There was no seating other than stool near the vanity. The fantastica cabins had a sofa.

We dressed elegant and a handful of others did as well. 

Photographers around the ship are really desperate for willing subjects to take their picture. We’ve done it a few nights. 
 

The theme nights so far were 70’s on Tuesday night (flower party), elegant menu (but not necessarily a dress up fancy night) last night (1st sea day) tonight is “white” night. 

How did you know to dress elegant if not noted on the daily program? Don't want to dress up the wrong night.

For those that have cruised since the restart from covid, were there local tour operators at the ports? Pre covid there were always operators/vendors. Looking specifically for Caribbean ports?

Are there any beaches within walking distance to the port and things to do close by. I read that hard Rock Cafe closed so that's not an option. 

Interested to know this as well. Since it's close to the dock is it walkable?

Yes.  The important thing is what your e-docs are showing.  My PCC added our middle names to our profiles and current reservations, including for our January cruise on the Gem for which our e-docs had already been issued.  As soon as he updated our names, the e-docs updated in the app and on line.

My TA had my middle added per my request to match my passport. When I go into the NCL app the top has my full name now including middle  however, just below under online check in it has my first and last name and no middle. Wondering if it's showing correctly? For those that had their information updated, does it show this way?

I have done it many times and never had an issue.  It was in a bag of stuff I sent through the scanners and no one questioned it.  I bought 4 or 6 smaller bottles (not really small...probably somewhere around 6 or 8 oz).

Know Cozumel is very strict with food being brought in, especially fruit and vegetables. Would like to bring a couple of prepackaged sealed almond packets with me while off the ship, would this be an issue?

Thinking about possibly buying vanilla extract in Cozumel for souvenirs. Since its liquid, would I be allowed to bring it on the ship since NCL doesn't allow liquids to be brought on? Asking on this board instead of Cozumel board as some cruise lines don't have issue with liquids being brought on.
