My husband and I will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary on board the Carnival Breeze in April. We did an all inclusive resort in Montego Bay for our honeymoon and became hooked on a drink called Jamaican Smile. We were originally just planning on using Montego bay to enjoy a less crowded ship but I thought it would be nice if we could get off just to enjoy our favorite drink. Are there any bars near where the cruises dock? Thanks! :)

Sadly there is NOTHING at the port. You would need to take a taxi or shuttle into town/hipstrip area to find a bar.. cost is $7-$8 pp each way

Look for a Bartender on the Breeze, Maybe in the RedFrog Pub from Jamaica and maybe he will know how to make it :) then you have the best of both worlds :) Good Luck

We will be getting a taxi from cruise terminal to Aqua Sol & on trawling through posts want the definitive reply on cost.

I have noted $20 & then some say haggle to $10, I am not sure whether this charge is per person or for the taxi . i.e. if 4 are in the taxi will the charge work out cheaper.:confused:

The fare from port to Doctors Cave Beach is $7 pp each way. Set price no haggling. Dr Cave is just a bit further than Aqua Sol.

I fly standby and I made a 9:30 flight out of MIA once but would never recommend booking a paid confirmed ticket before noon..

I have used Mark several times for tours and he is Wonderful with nice newer vehicles. He will customize your tour for you if you don't see what you want on his website

I love Native Way, you can reserve a boat but they only take 25 max so even if you just go on one of their reg trips you will have a great time.. I have been with them 3 times.

I also chartered a boat in May from another co. cant remember right now who and it was $1,000 for 4 hours. we had 25 in our group so it still worked out well and it was just us

I use carrentals.com and they list all the car companies.

When you drop your car off at the MIA airport they should have a free shuttle to the port or at least they did last year when we did it

Those awesome waterslides are NOT for kids only. Adults can ride them all they want!!! My goal is always 100 total rides throughout the week, and I'm sure I've done that each time.

 

The comedy club is extremely tiny, much smaller than on the Dream and .

I have booked my son and his friends all under age 18 in their own cabin next to us several times with no problem and no swapping keys.

On the up side to having a under 21 in the cabin is if you want the cheers card you can get it without both people in the cabin being required to buy it :)

It's obviously basic economics of supply and demand. If their occupancy rate is low for the date you wish to visit, then they will honor the 50% off day rate. If they are somewhat full, then they won't.

Very personalized tours, he stays with you and is FULL of information about Jamaica.

Secrets did respond to me with a rate of $119 per person and would not gty availability until 1 week before our visit. I sent a reply asking about the 2 for 1 rate but never received a response. A friend has also emailed secrets and received No response so it seems they are no longer wanting to offer Cruise passengers a deal :(

Try an Adios at the Red Frog.. similar to a Long Island but a little bit more fruity. If you get a fishbowl you will do good to finish it by yourself, Its not called an Adios for nothing :)

I won 4 drink coupons, which I never used since I am not a drinker....LOL. I mainly entered so I could win a Ship on a Stick for my daughter, but the ship was out of them. It was a fun experience and I admit I had a blast!

If you still have those drink coupons I am sure I have a ship to trade you :) & I am in Tulsa often since we just moved from there :)

About 2 years ago we booked the morning of the cruise on the phone

Book a tour with Mark Morris.

He is Great. Friendly knowledgeable and very protective.

I have booked with him twice, once was a group of 40 and we

had a great time both trips

Rule is to only send clothes you know wont shrink or change color.

they wash everything you send in one bag, with everyone else's bags in very HOT water. I once had a pr of pants come back 2 sizes smaller than they left and it wasn't because of the buffet. Also have had tshirts come back with transfer dye from jeans that were in the same bag. White undies and tshirts come back dingy..

I am very picky at home when I do laundry.. always separate colors and line dry delicates or 100% cotton so now I only send darks and non delicates.

I used Mark Morris for a Cruise Critic Roll Call group tour...

It was one of the BEST Tours I have ever been on during any of my 30 cruises.. We had close to 50 in our group broken up into 2 buses. One with Mark as our guide and the other with one of his wonderful assistants, I wish I could remember her name as she was so sweet

From the 1st day I contacted him to the day we meet in person he was so helpful and Professional. The Day of the Tour he made us feel safe and we all enjoyed the day to the fullest... At the Falls he arranged for us to use the exit after climbing the falls and we avoided the market where they try to force you to buy their items.

I still hear from Mark on holidays and whenever there is a disaster in my area (Tornado Allley - Oklahoma)

IF you are comparing this tour to a ships tour there is NO COMARISON. Mark gives you personal attention that you wont receive with the over booked cruise tours where you are just a number.

I look forward to the day when we return to Ocho Rios and meet up with Mark again.. I can say with 100% certainty that you will not regreat booking with Mark.
