  1. Update from Regal - currently no issues with medallionnet. Have good reliable service across ship.... speed and latency. Never have to login, always online. Easy to shift between phone and IPad. Only latency experienced is while on cruisecritic boards. To my friends up north, It is sunny and in the ‘80s.

  2. We are currently on Regal and connected to MedallionNet. I am in the stateroom and service is iffy... internet speed is good but has a very high amount of latency (response time) which makes difficult to use. On the flip side, Regal intranet has no issues at all, very fast and no latency. We are platinum so we do have unlimited access (unlimited minutes) limited by network response times :).

While walking through passageways, we noticed several staterooms that are wired for medallion. It is an electronic touchpad located by stateroom door. We are in a full suite and do not have this feature. There are kiosks throughout the ship that appear to be for medallion users.

  3. Like?

Had suite on Ruby last week which included club class...

Let's see... Special place in MDR, a special place to enter, special napkins, special wait staff dressed differently and one special appetizer, cooked at table that is not on menu. There was also no wait to get in.

On a couple of nights we opted to eat with friends who did not want to purchase club class or suite. To be honest, we actually enjoyed dinner more. Wait staff treated us no differently. There is just something about having dinner with friends. Would I pay the price they are asking... probably not. I would rather opt into a suite. We already get several of the CC perks through the Captains Circle.

  4. Hey commila,

First, we have seen people who miss the ship, the first one was in Juneau. Turned out they had gone out on their own. We normally don't worry about the extra cost for ship booked excursions... with that said, we have gone out on our own but as mentioned below, we plan carefully.

We just like the city of Juneau and the people. We visited many places in town and had a great time. Just for fun we rode the tram part way up Mt. Roberts and then hiked to the top. Spectacular views and we had a snowball fight. We are taking an excursion to Mendenhall in August. 2-1/2rs is plenty of time as we will go to Red Dog Saloon (recommended) and head up the Tramway again. We will also spend time in the city.

We rode WPRR while in Skagway (5hrs on our trip). We booked through Princess with no regrets...

As LoriPhil stated, enjoy all the ports of call. I am not sure you can go wrong no matter what you do!! If you miss something, you will have to go again:). ENJOY!
