I wandered by the Spa today and asked.

The answer may cause a firestorm like the Sanctuary…

    1. Pricing IS dynamic. She couldn’t give me a price per day on a future cruise because she said it changes based on demand.

    2. Single-day passes for the Thermal Spa are NOT sold for sea days. Only port days.

    3. A day pass for today would have been $49. From today to the end of the cruise was a “special” of $149, for the three days left. I guess it would be the only way to use the Thermal Spa on the sea day tomorrow.

The prices below seem crazily out of whack, but then I’m a guy, so what do I know…

Thank you and much appreciated that you went out of your way.  No firestorm from me and I really hope it doesn’t cause one for others.

Weekly pass it is for me which is what I’ve done every other time.

  2. @CanadianBurger - Thanks for the updates! I was wondering if you wouldn't mind swinging by the Spa and just taking a picture of the pricing for the Enclave for the per day and per week price. I've seen the pics/videos so no need for more unless you just want to take them, but I'm torn on whether I want the full week pass or the day pass (which I've never bought, thus I don't know the price). I've always done the full week but with the itinerary, I'm not sure I'd get enough out of a full week?!? I love the warm chairs and the thermospa for my aching body.  Thank you in advance!

I have dinner everyday (usually a light dinner) at around 9:30 and go to bed around midnight. On the weekends dinner at 10:30 is not a rare occurrence.

When I was a teen my parents sent me once to Ireland and once to England during the summer to study English while staying with a family and I got used to dinner at 5 quite easily! But I had to snack on something before going to bed 😅

Hi! We had an exchange student from Barcelona a couple years ago and she explained the late dinners to us as she struggled with our 5/6pm dinners in the states. She did get used to it but she did love getting back to her late night dinners. 🙂

I think I know the answer to this but I thought I'd ask anyway.   Does a guest have access to a microwave anywhere on the ship?  Buffet perhaps?   Sky Princess if that makes a difference.

I know heating pads are prohibited so if there was access to a microwave I could bring one of those bags you throw in the microwave and heat up with me on the cruise for my aching back.

No microwaves. I buy the heating pads that you break the little crystals and they heat up. Are they as hot, no but it's better than nothing.

  5. Our son will be 11 this summer when we cruise on the Sun and is soooo excited. He loves the look of the new ship and Park 19. He also enjoys the kids area (most recently on Discovery in Alaska). While he didn't get to enjoy the pool much in Alaska, he really enjoys the pools and MUTS on the other Princess ships he has been on but my kid can make friends with a wall. 🙂  We have also booked her again in Feb 2025. If he hates it in June, I'll cancel or reschedule.

Anyone with kids on the June 22nd cruise for Barca to Rome?

Since we are cruising from Barcelona in July, I was wondering how many kids might be on a Princess ship.  We sailed from Amsterdam last July on HAL and there were not many kids.  I like kids so don’t take it wrong.

We are going in June with our 11yo son. While he can make friends very easy, it will be interesting to see how many other kids there will be.

  7. I love to cruise. I've been on new ships and old ships, smaller ships and larger ships. While it will be awesome to be on another new ship, I don't stress too much about the design of the ship. What ever it looks like, the layout, the size of different area's of the ship, to me, it's still a cruise and I will adapt. It's a week out of my life as I don't expect to retire on a cruise ship any time soon. That being said, I am very much looking forward to the new ship and the itinerary as we've never been to the Med before.

Does anyone know if a medallion fits in a Disney Magic Band? I have a few of those….

I have holders that I got off Amazon and I will say the holder I have will hold a medallion or the magic band piece (that you take out)

  9. I took an upsell offer last week to move to a M412 under Skywalkers bar. Does anyone know if the noise will be an issue late into the night?  I'm not overly thrilled with the fully covered balcony but I'll be fine as long as the noise is ok at night. We do have a son travelling with us. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Cindy

  10. Personally, we love AD. I haven't done traditional dining in a long time. I like the freedom to go early or late when ever we like. We have done it with a party of two and a party of three. We prefer that once we find a dining staff that we like, we ask to be seated in their area each night. If you want to sit together as a group you can, you can also opt to sit with others if you'd like as well. To me they are flexible, as long as you don't go at a peak dining time.

It would be either Regal Princess or Sky Princess.

Not too concerned with room being crowded. We've all shared hotel rooms before and can work out a shower schedule that meets our needs. Other than sleeping & getting dressed, we don't plan to spend too much time in the room.

Our biggest concern is the mattress quality. I know a convertible sofa mattress is going to be uncomfortable. But if the ceiling/wall type beds are regular mattresses, we're hoping that those might be better than sofa.

    Pam

You can also shower at the spa. I did that last year and then would just get ready there or in my room.

  12. From experience, don't bother taking a pop up tent. The security with Carnival threatened to throw ours away because they considered it a 'Household appliance". They let the poles and stakes grow through security with no problems whatsoever but the actual tent was "a banned appliance". It was brand new and had never been used. Fortunately we were able to take it to a local hotel that held it for us for the week. NOT happy and neither was the toddler or his grandmother that doesn't like to be in the sun.

  13. We prefer Princess over Carnival but have sailed both and will continue to sail both depending on what's available when we want to go.

Carnival is def more of a party atmosphere which is what my DH doesn't like. I feel like Princess is more laid back and I really liked their any time dining option before the other lines adopted that as well.

For me the one MAJOR difference is the pools. I do not like salt water pools and all the Carnival ships I've been on have had salt water whereas the Princess ships I've been on have been freshwater (aka not salt) and that is a HUGE thing for me. Yes, I know I'm going to the beach to swim in salt water, but I want to feel refreshed when I jump into a pool and salt water doesn't do that for me.

In the past I feel that Princess has had better itineraries but I think Carnival is mirroring that now. We prefer more ports and less sea days.

I will say my son wasn't overly impressed with the kids area on our last Princess cruise but that was also after getting off Disney. We'll see what he thinks of the Magic next Spring Break.

Also, I am a TA on the side and as far as booking cruises is concerned, GoCCL is a lot easier to use than OneSource!

  14. Tip the room steward the VERY FIRST time you see him. Let him know who you are and in what cabin. You'll get better cabin attention then waiting until the end ....... We always do this and they are very appreciative. Cash on top of prepaid grats.

I completely agree with this... I slip them an extra $20 as soon as I meet them.

  15. Mine surprise wasn't for a cruise but I'd booked a trip to Disney World for my son and I (DH couldn't go) and I didn't tell my DS until I picked him up at school to take him to the airport. He figured it out when I gave him a shirt with Mickey on it! I kept the secret from Feb until the end of April. Good thing he can't spell or pick up on little conversations between my DH and myself. :)
