  1. This was on Harmony on Easter week the first Picture is the first day at sea at 730 . The second picture is the second day at sea at 830. Notice all the empty seats taken by towels. I was told that there were people out at 530am putting towels on chairs. By the last sea day I got up early and got us 4 seats by the sports pool and we took turns sitting in them until we were ready to hang out there. It's sad we had to play the game but at least we stayed there and didn't leave them unoccupied. But on that day I guess enough people complained all week so the "towel police" started marking chairs and taking stuff off it was great to finally see. I wish they did this the whole cruise. imagejpegimagejpeg

  2. We've used our points three times now we got a free 4 night cruise two times . Used it for Majasty both times, although you only get ocean view. And our last cruise we used it towards 500$ off the cruise . It came off right after we booked way before final payment. Just a suggestion we used our card to pay the deposit for our friends who are joining us for our next cruse. (They paid us cash) double points for both our cruises makes points go up quicker !

  3. I know many times hurricanes require the cruise line to divert and change itineraries. When the cruise leaves from San Juan and flying in is the only way there....what adjustments can be made other than cancelling if this ever happens?

One year a storm was supposed to hit or come close to San Juan the day before our cruise which happened to be the day we were supposed to fly in. We scrabbled and changed our flight to two days before instead and paid for an extra night at the hotel. It turned out there was just really bad rain and the cruise was perfect. We would have been fine leaving it the way it was , but we had peace of mind and an extra day of vacation. We also always get insurance .

  4. We are going the same dates but on Harmony, I checked the prices out of Newark, AC and Philly obsessively (sometimes 3 times a day) one morning I saw that Spirit out of Newark was only 138$ round trip. The night before it was 488$ and now it's at 588$ to Fort Lauderdale!!!! (CRAZY!) I jumped on that price right away. It went up a few hours later. I'm wondering if it was a mistake on the website, but hey I got that price . It sometimes pays to be obsessive!

Good lucky I hope you can find a lower fare

  5. You put your bags outside your stateroom door on the last night of the cruise. The ship arranges bag transfer to the airport. The next time you see your bags is at your final destination.

What is the earliest your flight can be to take advantage of the valet? We will have an 11:10 am flight from FLL on Harmony. I'm guessing they probably will only take it if your flight is after noon.

  6. Sadly , it's those who have cheated the system that will probably end up ruining it for everyone else. Our last two cruises we both got the deluxe package. It was nice to know that both of us did not have to purchase . I did consider not getting it for myself last cruse. But I've had numerous people tell me they bought one package and got drinks for the other person. One person even told me the bartender just "hooked them up all week". I can understand if RCCL is losing money this way why they would want to change it back.

  7. We don't have our trip booked until spring break 2018 , but I checked to see if anything was offered yet. It says the drink package is $55 a day. I know it's early but we have always gotten it at 20% off before. I'm wondering if it won't be discounted because it's spring break. I know it only works out to be a little more but being that we are diamond members and can get happy hour drinks I'm wondering if this will still be worth it. I do love the freedom of the drink package.

    Any thoughts ?

  8. We just booked our next cruise when we were on Anthem this month. This is the first time we did it this way. The woman who took care of us didn't help too much . I felt I knew a lot more than her. Make sure you do your homework before you leave . We knew what week we wanted to go and picked a few different ships and had her look up a few . Book at whatever the sale is you can always adjust price later on. We just did it for the OBC.

  9. If you want slides, then go for Harmony.

Otherwise, the ships are very similar. You can choose based on shows and departure port:

Oasis has the show CATS and is in Port Canaveral

Allure has Mamma Mia and is in Port Everglades

Hamony has Grease and is in Port Everglades.

Allure has Samba Grill, the other two have Solarium Bistro,

I know what they all the different ships have I'm just trying to justify spending the extra money for Harmony.

I'm not getting great input from my husband. He says it's for my Birthday so it's up to me. He says we should stay with Harmony but I'm thinking he said this because he thinks that's what I want . I guess you can't take it with you so maybe I'll just stay with Harmony

  10. Hi, I'm looking for advice.....

We booked Harmony for Easter week 2018 (Western) while we we on Anthem this month.

We were on Oasis (Eastern) Sept

Now that I'm looking Oasis and Allure are much less for the same week.

Oasis is Western and Allure is Eastern . Oasis is about $1000 less but we've been on this ship already

Allure is anywhere between 500-750$ less depending on which cabin we'd get but we also just did Eastern on Oasis.

I'd like to see new shows and we haven't done Western for years.

Obviously Harmony would probably be the best choice but it's so much more $

I'd change weeks but Easter week will be my 50th bday and I'd really like to go this week. Airfare is crazy also this week.

    So torn.. can't chose

    Help

  11. Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has done the excursion Hidden Gems Exploration Adventure in Bermuda.

We will be on the Anthem May 6th , this is a 7 hour excursion and want to know if it's worth the 190$.

I feel it would probably give us a great chance to see a lot of the island but the price is a little steep! And it seems like some of this will include snorkeling and being that it is the beginning of May I'm wondering if it will be too cool to snorkel. Any help or advice would be great!

    Thanks

  12. We've used our points twice for free 4N cruises on Majesty of the Seas. They were only Ocean view and you still have to pay port fees and taxes. And this time we used it for 500$ off our cruise on Anthem for May because the 50,000 points is only for 3-4 nighers and this is 5N. We saved over 800$ twice for the free cruises i feel you get the best value from using your points that way.

  13. We booked a gaurentee balcony a few weeks ago for a 5 N in May. Being this was a shorter trip we wanted to take our chance . I was afraid we would get an obstructed balcony. We were given a cabin assignment as soon as we paid the deposit . I was surprised it was there so quickly . I

We were assigned a D8 on deck 6 all the way forward (no obstruction ) . Someone then told me that we can call and have them give us a different cabin as long as it's within he same catagory . So we moved up to the 8th floor between forward and midship very close to an elevator .

    Hope this helps

  14. Can I ask why you wouldn't want the first cabin all the way forward? I have been assigned one on another ship and to me it looks ok, but am I missing something?

I thought someone said there was a hull on the balcony, but I think that was deck 7. I changed thinking that at the time but I wanted to also go a little higher if we could. We are used to being on one of the top decks. Just taking this trip between longer ones and didn't want to spend a to of money. My main goal was to just not have a lifeboat blocking our view. I would have been happy with the front first cabin or on the 8th deck where we moved.

  15. I've been assigned balcony room #10718 on my Anthem cruise(guaranteed balcony). It says Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony(smaller balcony). How much smaller is my balcony? I haven't found pictures of this room.

Looks like it's a D7 i believe the balcony is 55 sqft instead of 65 (no biggie) I think the cabins are 198 sq ft. Just be happy like I was that it's not an obstructed view.

  16. No offense, but I would not recommend 8576 because it is a connecting cabin. In my experience on Anthem, you want to be close to the aft elevators if possible. However if you prefer being forward, don't get a connecting cabin.

When my travel agent (mother in law ) called she put me on the phone they had cabins closer to the aft but the one more forward that we picked was a little closer to an elevator . Honestly we don't care about aft or forward the only time we care about aft is when we are on the true aft on the back of the ship which we love. We saved a ton on money doing guarantee we just didn't want obstruction from the lifeboats or to be on the first cabin all the way forward . So we are happy now. We usually care more on longer cruises . We are just doing a shorter one to use some credit card points .
