I am looking for information regarding keeping in touch back home. Ways to communicate, best apps to use, can you make calls and best internet packages. We will be on the Glory in June and Valor beginning of August out of New Orleans this summer and I would like to be able to check in with my Mom who is having some health issue. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. We haven't cruise since before Covid (using two cruise credits from the covid shutdown) so it's been a while and I know technology changes.

How was it?
I have the same port times 7:00am-1:30pm. My confirmation email says the shuttle will pick us up at 8:00am or 1 hour after we dock. Also says to disregard ship announcements about cancelled snorkeling due to weather. To always check with the shuttle driver because they are in a cove and often can still have snorkeling when others can't.I can't comment on how good (or hopefully not bad) this excursion is because we haven't sailed yet but I will let you know in a few weeks.
And silly me...I am traveling with my DD and DH's cousin (not my DH's niece as I previously stated!

THANK YOU all so much!!! We appreciate it and are looking into all of your suggestions.

We are sailing on the Carnival Dream June 17th out of NOLA and are looking for things to do on our own in Nassau, Bahamas. We ran across Junkanoo Beach and Tiki Bikini Hut and read that it's in walking distance from the ship. Has anyone been there? It is a safe walk? Is there things to see along the way? ....and would you recommend this stop with a 10 year old boy?

We will be boarding the Carnival Dream out of New Orleans, LA June 17th heading to Key West, Freeport and Nassau. This will be our first time to these ports and we are looking for things that we can do on our own. We have a 10 year old to consider. Any tips, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We will be on the Carnival Dream in June 2017 and we are looking for things to do on our own. My husband and I have a 9 year old, so we are asking for kid friendly ideas. We will be with a group of 17, but not sure if we will be on our own or have others join us.

Sending a huge THANK YOU to everyone that replied! It is much appreciated. I still haven't given my hubby the GO AHEAD, still trying to decide. We have a 7 year old who just made his first cruise July 5th and loved it. A little worried about his leaving his "stuff" Santa leaves but I'm sure if we said CRUISE he wouldn't care. Also, hating to leave my parents during the holidays, but telling myself we will have the entire week before which is actually Christmas. Guess it's just something new so I'm apprehensive. All of your posts helped tremendously though! It does sound like tons of fun!

My husband and I are thinking about a New Years Cruise aboard the Carnival Dream, but have never cruised in the winter months or during the holidays. Has anyone out there ever been on a NYE cruise? Does Carnival do anything special for the holiday and how is the weather on the islands? I am reading that once we made it through the cold dreary NOLA sail away weather that the islands would be nice and warm.
Any information regarding holiday cruises or Carnival, cruising in the winter, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I am posting for a friend. She just booked a regular balcony on Deck 8. Her husband has never cruised before and is worried about getting sea sick. Question is do you feel more in the Cove Balconies or the regular balconies higher up? Which would be better for them with their concerns Main Deck or Deck 8?
This is my 8th cruise and I have never been sick. My husband and I booked the Cove balcony on the Main Deck to be closer the water and have more privacy.

Can anyone tell me about the Carnival "Cheers" program aboard the Dream and how it works. How many drinks a day.....are sodas included in that number, price, etc. Any help or advice as to if it is worth it would be greatly appreciated.

Where are the ones from Honduras, Belize and Cozumel?

Just got on the Carnival site and looked at some of the excursions. Most have a minimum age requirement of 8....our son is 8. I did see a few with just day trips to beaches....and the pictures were beautiful, BUT the reviews were horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks everyone! That is exactly what I have been hearing from everyone I talk to. Looks like we will be enjoying a relaxing day on the ship!

Are there beaches in Belize near the cruise terminal or a short cab ride away that you can visit with the family for the day? We aren't big on shore excursions and would just like to find a safe place for us to take our 7 year old to play in the beautiful waters.

If someone could post their latest copies of the "Fun Times" I would be interested in seeing them as well.

Do you have copies of your "daily's" or Fun Times ...whatever the call it these days (can you tell it's been 7 years since my last cruise) that you can share? Wanting to show a friend who has never cruised before that is thinking of traveling with us.
