  1. Maybe I'm just irritated because I just came off a cruise (Disney) that was seriously hard to find a seat on. We circled the buffet many times for several minutes trying to find seats.

But I have had problems on other cruises also, maybe the difference is between NCL versus Carnival. Most of my cruises have been on NCL, but like I said, I do remember the Legend being better.

    Thanks for the replies.

  2. I guess I should mention that, yes, I am talking about breakfast and lunch. We also do mdr for dinner.

We were on the Legend and noticed that we were pretty lucky finding a space outside to eat, but not inside. I forget that that was one ship, that didn't seem as frustrating.

Which is fine until the weather doesn't cooperate :)

  4. I'm curious if any of you have an opinion on the best buffet. One of the things we hate is the herding around at the buffet. Trying to find a seat is, I'm sure, a problem for many.

So I'm wondering if anyone has found that a specific ship or class of ships do it best. I think the most important thing would be finding a seat. Is there one that seems to have plenty of seating? One to avoid, maybe?

    Thanks in advance

  5. Well' date=' there are game supplies in O'Gills/Diversions for your use there. Not sure if there are any at GS. For a while, the frequent cruiser gift included a deck of cards, but I'm told that we were on the last cruise that got this gift.

Dumb question, but it you want a deck of cards, why not toss it in the suitcase?[/quote']

I will have some, I just like to get them from the ship. The two lines I've been on so far have their logo on them, so I guess you could say I like to collect them :D

But thank you, I'll check when I get on board.

  6. Yes you can wing it! We had a ship tour planned that was cancelled just hours before we got off the ship and we winged it just fine. When you get off the tender there are a ton of tour operators offering tours. We found one and negotiated a private tour to Altun Ha. The key is to get on one of the first tenders so you can get to the ruins before tons of people are climbing all the ruins. We basically found our tour operator, negotiated the price for a tour for just the 3 of us and headed out. Our tour guide was AMAZING! He grew up in Belize and had so much to tell us. We learned tons! He walked us around the ruins and explained many things we would have never known had he not been there. He also took many pictures of us while we toured the ruins. He took us for a walk in the rainforest and told us about the trees, plants and animals. It was such a great tour! If you want the name of the tour company let me know, I can dig out the information for you. If not, you will have no problem finding a ride to the ruins. :D

Actually that would be great if you could find the info for me. It's nice to use somebody that others have used before.

Do you remember the price for the 3 of you?

Is the rain forest close to Altun Ha?

    Thanks for the info!

  7. So when we get off the ship can we just wing it.

I know having a plan (pre-booking) is good but wondering if we can save money by just getting off the ship, catching a cab, and paying whatever the entrance fee is to Altun Ha, then catching a cab back.

I don't really think we want to see anything else in Belize and being in port from 8-5 I wouldn't be worried about getting back to the ship in time. We should have hours to spare.

Anyone ever done this that could tell me prices on cab fare and entrance fee?

    Thank you!

  8. FYI: I have never been to Bermuda. Will be there this June so I am very interested in this poll.

The only way these boards let you see the poll is to vote. So I have to vote other for no other reason.

Don't mean to argue, but I noticed someone else mention the fact that they can't view the poll without voting.

I'm confused however because just to the right of the vote now button there is a link to "view poll results"

Below is an example of the poll, are you not seeing this on your screen for some reason?

    Only tring to help!:)

What are your favorite beaches in Bermuda?

    Elbow Beach

    Astwood Cove

    Warwick Long Bay

    Chaplin Bay

    Horseshoe Bay

    Church Bay

    Jobson’s Cove

    Somerset Long Bay

    Shelly Bay

    Tobacco Bay

    John Smith's Bay

edit: Sorry the screen doesn't look exactly like the poll, but my point is that there is a link to view the poll results

  9. You can do what you want. But again, this program is NOT a good value for credit card/airline points. 25,000 points for most FF programs gets you a "saver" coach ticket to Mexico, Canada or Alaska. 35,000 points gets you a "saver" coach ticket to Hawaii. 40,000 gets you a "saver" coach ticket to Europe or Chile/Brazil or Argentina. Tickets for other than domestic USA run about $1000.00. Why are you willing to settle for half the money?

If you just want a $500.00 discount on a cruise, go for it. But to use the points for airline miles-BAD VALUE. And Amex is not accepted well outside the USA.

Thank you, I should have clarified in my post that I am just looking at this card to get the $500.00 discount on airline tickets. Will I keep the card? Probably, but it will not be my primary card. I have the NCL Bank of America card that earns a heck of alot more that any card I have found, so that is the card I use all the time. It kind of sticks when I want to try another line because it's only good on NCL, but it works out to get a decent discount on that line anway.

  10. Follow-up...I finally got around to calling AMEX to redeem my points and they credited $500 to my account just like they said they would. I had booked my cruise and air on my AMEX blue sky and they came through like they said they would.

Wow! That's impressive, Is your card new or do you recall if you had to make a certain amount of purchases to get the points? I'm thinking it's worth a try.

EDIT: I se your original post said you got your card in Nov. But how many points did you have to rack up before they credited your account with the bonus points? Thanks

  11. Thanks for your reply. I'm not too worried about having to make a purchase on the card because we usually put xx amount of money on our credit card every month anyway and then just pay it off. I just don't want another card if it's useless.

I would like to know if anyone has redeemed points through Amex Blue Sky.

  12. Has anyone here received the A.E. Blue Sky credit card offer of 37500 bonus points. To be used 7500 points at a time worth $100. So I'm wondering what the fine print is that you don't get until you get the card. It says no blackout dates, any airline etc. etc. However, it does on the back of the application say " 7500 point increment shall be equal to a credit of up to $100" So I'm not sure what the UP TO means:confused: Anyone know? I sure would appreciate it.:)
