  1. I just booked a pack n go rate today for a quick getaway at the end of July. Couldnt beat the price, and DH has two weeks vacation at the end of July - so I begged my employer to let me have the time off.

I will be on Glory. What do you all think of this ship?

How exactly does the pack n go rate? I know you can end up with any room, but is there any way to find out where? Can you keep searching for rooms by doing mock bookings and see what is available and figure, must be one of those? Do they actually wait until the day you sail to assign you or beforehand?

Never have done a pack and go before, so sorry for all the questions.

no way to really know, all you can do is sign in and check until you see a cabin...

checking availability only shows 10 cabins per selection so you could get something not on the list...

most of the time you get something in the category you booked (inside, oceanview, etc) but you could get lucky with an upgrade.

you may get a cabin assignment tomorrow, you may get one a week before sailing and anywhere in between.

I booked a pack and go balcony, and got a mid ship extended balcony (a small upgrade)

    Good luck

  2. We are back from our Destiny cruise. We booked the parking at 150 NE7th St. and are glad we did. A four night cruise cost us $38, $18 for the parking and $10 each way for a cab.Beats the daylights out of the $80 to park at POM. Here is their link: http://portofmiamicruiseparking.com/

The parking lot is an open lot with a fence around it. There was a man there when we checked in and out. Not security, but to make sure you had a reservation and to make sure you parked correctly. It was tight parking but we didn't have any problems. There were a lot of homeless sitting on the streets outside the fence. Our can was dusty but not damaged. We will use this lot again when cruising out of Miami.:D

    Thanks for the review!

  3. You're so welcome! My recommendation is to call them after the cruise if you've waited 15 minutes with no shuttle. It was silly for us to wait the full 25 minutes before calling, and clearly, they hadn't even left the garage until we called to tell them we were waiting. When is your cruise? I'd like to hear your experience when you get back as well. I'm glad we chose this option.

March 18th on NCL pearl. I am still considering the portofmiamicruiseparking.com for the $4.50 or whatever, most of the reviews have been good (other than the above poster who it also happens to be their 1st post)....will be making a decision soon! What time did you get to the garage? I have heard they wont let you in before 11? with the cheaper option I can just grab a taxi and not have to wait for the free shuttle.

I prefer to leave from Port everglades as I always use the same parking lot there that is great....plus I am north of ft. lauderdale so its closer. I will definitely report back

  4. I am not the original poster, but we just returned from cruising the Millennium and did use the parking garage located at 1415 NE 2nd Avenue. It is about a half mile from port. This parking garage is secure, having large iron gates that drop down when they close, which closes off the entire entrance to the garage. We did not have to wait more than 10 minutes at pick up or drop off. The vans could be updated, but the drivers were very pleasant and helpful. We booked it through global airport parking. I think that 3 or 4 companies use this garage. We plan to use them again when we cruise in December.

Global Airport parking has 2 options:

Cheap Cruise Parking -Secure Self Port Parking

Self / 0.5 mi from the Seaport

    Shuttle Runs: Continuous

    or

Premier Cruise Parking - Secure Garage Port of Miami Parking

Self Parking / 0.8 mi from the Seaport

which is which? the 1st one is a little cheaper.
