  1. I hope I'm not too late to chime in on this question! We returned October 10th from the 7 day Society Island cruise. The cruise was otherwise absolutely fabulous, but I did find the Internet to be very, very frustrating; slow to connect and often just not available. (I had a little better luck getting wifi with my iPad than my iPhone). I was a regular visitor to the Internet cafe, manned by a very nice gentleman named Dimitri who tried his best to troubleshoot. But there was only so much he could do. I would set your expectations low and hope for the best!

  2. I have a very specific question about Dr. Poole's dolphin watch tour. I know this is hard to answer, because it varies by the day and by the individual, but could someone comment on how likely we are to encounter rough water on the boat? My husband is somewhat prone to seasickness and I don't want him to be uncomfortable. We will be in Moorea in early October.

    Thank you very much.

  3. Hello! I'll be on a 7 day PG cruise in early October. For our two days in Bora Bora, I have booked the Circle Lagoon (4 hour) tour through "Reef Discovery/Pure Snorkeling." For the following day, I booked the ship's tour BRB 1603, which is the half day tour through Patrick's company Maohi Nui.

We are not scuba divers, and I'd rather spend my time in and around the water rather than on land in BB.

So my question is: are these two tours going to be very much the same? If that's the case I have to re-think my plans!

    Thank you very much.

  4. Hello. I'm currently booking shore excursions for my 7 day Society Islands cruise in October. First time in FP, first time on PG! If anyone can help answer these two questions, I would really appreciate it!

    (1) I think I read somewhere that the PG motu on Bora Bora does not have any bathroom facilities. Is this true? (And is it a nice place to spend a few hours?)

    (2) Also on Bora Bora: if deciding between Patrick's two lagoon tours through the ship (1602 and 1603), is it worth the extra money to do the tour that includes lunch? I think that's the only difference between them.

    Thanks very much!

  5. Hello. Can someone familiar with the PG shore excursions please help me with something:

It looks like tour BRB 1603 ("Lagoon excursion with Maohi Nui") is one of Patrick's tours.

There is another tour (BRB-1602: "Lagoon Cruise and Polynesian Feast") that may also be with his company. Can anyone confirm that?

I'm not familiar with Patrick - does booking through the PG shore excursions mean that he is less likely to be the guide, or does he guide all of his tours?

    Thank you very much. :)

  6. SueRich 42: welcome back! Can I ask you what you thought of your veranda stateroom on deck 8? I think by now you're home and would love to know a couple of things:

Mainly, did you feel motion on the ship since those cabins are rather forward? I'll be on the 7 day PG cruise, so the waters may be calmer, but my husband gets seasick.

Also, did you feel the extra money was worth it, for the butler and larger veranda and room (I know that's a hard question to answer, and very subjective). We love sitting on the balcony, and the Category C balconies looked really small.

    Thanks so much!!

  7. Hello. I have cruised before on both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, and have been very happy with the cabin sizes and balcony sizes. My husband and I are thinking of doing the 7 day Tahiti cruise (Society islands) in late September. This will be our first time on a smaller ship, and our first time to the South Pacific. I do not get sea sick but my husband does. (though he rarely did on those big ships!)

So I have a few questions:

    1) I'm wondering if rough waters are likely to be a problem at all in September, especially since the ship doesn't really go on the open seas much.

    2) I wanted to do a veranda stateroom on deck 8, (I have a hold on 813), but I see that these are not really mid-ship, so will the motion be likely to get to my husband?

    3) As an alternative, we could do a mid-ship Category C on deck 7, but the balconies and rooms look so small! We love to sit on our balcony during a cruise, but a 37 sq. foot balcony seems tiny. Does it feel tiny to those of you who have done Category C? I don't mean to sound spoiled!

I would REALLY, REALLY appreciate any advice you could give me. I feel like I need to book this soon, but I'm conflicted about the cabins. We're also considering just a land trip to Bora Bora and Moorea.

    Thanks, all! :)
