The menu looks great. Was this offered as a sea day brunch a la Carnival?

Looking at the Chops + one option in the planner and it gives a choice of day 1 or day 2 and dining times. We are on a four day cruise and would like to do specialty dining on day 3 and 4. So this offer is only good for day 1 or 2?
No, they will only let you book the first dinner ahead of time, on day one or two; you book the other when you board the ship; you can book for any other day you want. Go directly to the other restaurant you want when you go onboard. If you were booking several night, such as with the dining plan, you can book them all at the first restaurant on board. I just got off the Ovation last week and did this.

Can OBC be used for taxes and tips on drinks? Bingo? IFly? Anything unusual that I wouldn’t think of? We just got $757 to spend.

Thanks for the replies. We are there from 11:00am-10:00pm. Looks like renting a car is about $92. Seems a little too complicated to us. I posted to the Roll Call forum to see if anyone is interested in sharing a cab. If not, I think we're game to try the bus.

I had originally booked with CVS tours for Butchart, but it looks like they've changed their previous way of having a return bus available every hour. They recently sent me this schedule for the tour that leaves the Empress at 11:30:
Our 11:30 tour will leave the gardens at 14:45.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of the tour.
11:30 - Depart the Empress Hotel.
12:05 - Arrive at Butterfly Gardens.
12:35 - Depart Butterfly Gardens and head to Butchart Gardens.
12:45 - Arrive at Butchart Gardens.
2:45 - Depart Butchart Gardens towards Empress Hotel. This looks too rushed to me, especially since we have Afternoon Tea booked at 1:00 at the dining room, and we're not really interested in the butterfly gardens. How much is a cab, each way, in Canadian dollars? There will be two of us. Do most people go to an ATM or bank to exchange money on arrival? Thanks for your help.

This will be my 9th Carnival cruise--I'm going the week of Dec 27th, and after seeing BlerkOne's pics of the Valor out of New Orleans, I'm discouraged. It has got to be the ugliest ship in the Carnival Line 😬 There's so much orange--the dining rooms are orange, the staterooms have the dated Carnival orange, the atrium is brown and orange with a garish mural... I don't think I've ever been bothered by a ship's décor before. Please tell me why you like the Valor--- help me to see her bright side!

We are cruising Dec 27. Do you think there will be a ugly sweater contest that week?

I cruised on Oct 11. I thought most everyone leaned on the side of caution. Probably 90% in the elevator, 80% masked in the hallways, 20% while in the comedy or nightly shows. I was pleasantly surprised.

We were on the Elation Oct 11th. The cabin steward said we were sailing at 42%; the Cruise Director said at "just under 50%".

Agreed! Are you listening Carnival? Please bring back the carbonara, tiramisu and cannolis!

Check out Victor Bodden Monkey Tours. My 3 teenage sons and I had the BEST time playing with the Capuchin monkeys. Lots of great reviews on the Ports of Call Roatan section of CC. Still one of our favorite excursions ever.

Holy smokes! Much more than I was thinking. Sounds like an excursion is the way to go. Thanks for your help!

Sorry, looking at several ports. Car rental from Willemstad to Playa Porto Marie looks to be about $40 each way, can anyone confirm this?
-
Thanks for the link. Looks awesome!

We are interested in snorkeling and hanging out at the beach for half a day. Anyone know how much a taxi cab from La Romana port to Playa Porto Marie will cost?
-
Does anyone have a picture of the tumbler?

Ordering what you want is part of the fun of cruising. No apologies here. However, we do try to eat what we order.

BEST one ever...I swear to God! "Does this elevator go to the front of the ship or the back of the ship" I almost peed my pants laughing after they walked away. All I could think is "this ain't no Wonkavator"
You are obviously very directional. For people like me who can't find their way out of a paper bag, this is a perfectly reasonable question when we are turned around. We aren't sure which end of the ship we are on.

Is the name actually "Park n Go"? I don't see anything called "Park n Cruise".

Just bought 2 $500 cards on the site. I had 6,000 pts for just joining and doing 3 or 4 quizzes. I needed 10,000 points to get 2 $500 cards. Quick tip-- skip the quizzes; scroll down and sign up for all the newsletters that say "Rewards for Good". I earned 6,000 immediate points in about 2 minutes. I plan to unsubscribe immediately. The cards available on the site right now. Choose the "email delivery" option and you receive them in you inbox right away. I saved $100. Win/win!

They have almost reached their Go Fund Me goal-- it's at $52,585; they are asking for $55,000.

Hey all- when checking Fare Viewer, my rates have gone down for my Dec cruise with the More=Merrier rates. That rate is broken down into "Let Me Choose My Room" and "Choose a Room For Me." I originally booked ES choosing my own room. Do I have to price match with the "Let Me Choose My Room" or does it just have to be the same room category (IS)? From reading other threads I already know that I would lose my OBC, would I lose my room too?

Here's a link to a review I did on the Legend Steakhouse:

The short version is, I would highly recommend the Spice Rubbed Ribeye and Chocolate Sampler. There are pics of the menu in the review. Although the review is 2 years old, the main menu has not changed.
Is everyone still bringing their vaccination cards?

We cruise on Saturday to the Caribbean -- St Thomas, Labadee, San Juan, Coco Cay-- any reason to bring our vaccination cards?
