  1. We have sailed on the Triumph along with many other Carnival ships [Platinum Members] and we like the Balcony cabins on the Lido deck on the Triumph. They are just a short walk to all the action on the Lido deck and the Buffet. Spa deck is also very nice and maybe just a wee bit less noisy, although we never had a problem with noise. as far as sway goes, again we have never had a problem but it is true that the lower you are the less movement you may feel. Just check out the decks above and below you. You want to avoid being below the pool area or above or below the theater or the disco. Just remember nothing is perfect overlook the minor annoyances that happen and just have great time. Ps. Below the buffet is ok as the buffet gets quiet at night. You won't spend much time in your cabin during the day.

  2. We are Platinum with Carnival and are in our late 60's now. We love carnival and have never had a problem with people who drink [ I drink wife does not]. As was already said the shorter the cruise the more of a party atmosphere. Our only complaint with all cruise lines is people who let their kids loose to run wild with no supervision.

  3. We never have had a problem with questions for Carnival. We do however use a trusted travel agent who specializes in cruises for booking and he always manages to get us a fair deal. We have never had a problem with any booking he has made for us. He even got us a small amount back on Carnivals price guaranty. Have used him for most of our 27 cruises.

  4. Triumph hands down. Much nicer ship after recent refurb. Lots to do on Galveston Island if you go early. We have done your cruise and loved the triumph, like Galveston. a very nice cruise for the money. Hotels are cheaper in Galveston if you go early [recommended] That should more than make up the price difference.

  5. Most people leave their "stuff" on their lounger with no problems. But you never know there is always the chance that you would be the exception to the rule. You will find that your fellow cruisers are a very friendly bunch and you can probably ask the person on the lounger next to you to keep an eye on your stuff for a few min. If it is very valuable leave it in your cabin and then you have no worries.

  6. I think most people make their resv. as soon as they board. Unless it is a special holiday such as Valentines day you should have no problem being accommodated. We have done 27 cruises and usually do the steakhouse [or whatever the particular line we are on calls it] at least once and never have had a problem with getting a resv. although we are pretty flexible about day and time. All the premium restaurants are worth the extra charge. We really like Carnivals. But all are good.
