Ok here's the dilemma for me. I thought I knew which cruise I wanted t oswitch to , but not so sure.

Cruise is September 2020 New England/ Canada  Non-refundable deposit. Large OBC attached to booking.

We already have another cruise on another cruiseline booked for September 2021 Alaska. We got a really nice cabin and great price and don't really want to cancel. We want to go back to Alaska again.

So it's not like I can just call up and just do the lift and shift deal and book a  2021 New England/Canada cruise.

Was looking at under the CWC I guess we could switch the booking to maybe a March 2022 Caribbean Cruise. Was looking at either 7 day 4 port cruise in Rhapsody of the Seas out of Galveston, Texas, not a great ship though or Allure of the Seas 3 port 7 day cruise out of Tampa, Florida.

But I come to thinking we really want to do the New England/ Canada cruise before we do another Caribbean Cruise, been there done plent of those.

So what if I wait until the September 2020 cruise is actually canceled? Would I then have the ability to maybe book the New England/ Canada 2022, Does anyone know for sure when that itinerary for 2022 comes out ?

Remembering I still don't want to lose that OBC.

Wonder what options we might have by September 24th 2020 when and if cruise is canceled? Just don't know what is best to do.

I can relate.  We have an Alaska cruisetour booked for July and had to make our final payment last month.  We have over 9K tied up.  When our final payment was due we were told if we cancelled we would lose our deposit which was almost $1000 but if the cruiseline cancelled we could get a refund. If the cruise is canceled the FCC has to be used by april 2022 and the price we paid for this is the equivalent of about 3 Carribean cruises.  Alaska sailings for 2021 are pretty much booked up already except for a few cabins that are not in our preferred shipboard location so lift & shift to next year won't work.  We will request a refund and try for 2022 but in the meanwhile we have to wait for the cruise to be canceled as our money is tied up.  If they do not cancel we have no option but to go and take our chances and social distance,  but it is not looking good .  Just wish they would cancel already.

  2. Alaska fills up quick and now with the cancellations this season 2021 is really  selling quickly.  We are booked for this July (booked back n November 2018 when the bookings first opened up). Tried to switch to 2021 but very few cabins are left and they aren't our ideal location on the ship.We will probably try to go in 2022 when the bookings open up.

  3. We were on a RCI cruise a while back where there was a medical emergency and the ship had to turnaround and go back to Nassau to evacuate someone from the ship. We were told that we would arrive 3 hours late in Miami, so many people would miss their flights. They opened up the wifi for free so people could re-book flights, and the bandwidth stopped working because there were people using the free internet for facebook and email. I was trying to rebook my flight and it took me 3 hours because the bandwidth came to a screeching halt.

Free wifi is not a good idea unless they have the bandwidth to support the traffic (which most ships don't have, especially when at sea).

  4. We are just off the Brilliance two weeks ago (13 night repo cruise) We asked for an egg crate because the bed was really bad. Our stateroom attendant said that they were no longer available on the ship because Royal Caribbean cut them out. He brought in an extra quilt/comforter to try to fix the situation.

13 nights on that mattress was horrible.

  5. We did the repo cruise from Boston to Tampa a few weeks ago and thought the entertainment was very good. We also thought the food in the main dining room was better on this cruise than the last few we've been on.

There was definitely things to do late into the evening. We shut the ship down several nights well after midnight. We played pool, and we went to the English pub many nights to listen to the entertainment and play darts. We did not care for the singer/piano player in the schooner bar. She played the piano ok, but her singing was like "bad Karaoke".

We are diamond, and this was one of the best cruises we've been on.

We thought the crew was very good. Our stateroom attendant was awesome. He was right on top of things. Our waiter, and head waiter in the dining room were very good also. We had a mix up the first night with our table (someone else was sitting at it) and my husband has a food allergy. The head waiter took care of the situation and made sure everything was perfect. He really went out of our way to please us.

  6. The bus fares have increased from what is mentioned on the website.

The best bet for you is to take the small bus vans to Seaquarium. These buses go via Oranjestraat + M.L.King boulevard.

The Dive Bus is right before you get to Sunscape Hotel. Tell the driver you are getting off the Marie Pampoen pier beach (they might not be familiar with the name Dive Bus).

Going back - there will be a bus stop if you walk towards Sunscape hotel (2 minute walk) on the same side of the road as the Dive Bus.

    Thank you for the information.

  7. Last time we were in Curacao we took a taxi to the Dive Bus (across the street from Pierbaai Beach) , but took the bus (looked like a taxi but said "BUS" instead of "Taxi") back into Punda. We want to take the bus out to the Dive Bus this time. Are there different bus routes? How do we know which one goes by the Dive Bus?

Taking it back into town was easy because we just waited on the side of the road until one came by, but which one do we take on the way out of town?

  8. We had Mike last week. He stopped at Walmart on the way to the ship. Pulled right up to the front of the store and we all got out. On the way back to the airport he stopped at Dunkin Donuts so we could get coffee because the coffee on the ship was horrible.

They are a family owned business and most of their business is airport and cruise transfers.
