Any recommendations for parking a 30' RV for a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale? I feel like this should already be a topic but can't find. We're not able to find a place to park in March. Thanks!

Never having been, I did not know the setup - that's why I asked. And some young people see no reason at all to pay $ to go down a slide. 🙂

Does the thrill park on Coco Cay allow non-participating adults to enter that area without a wristband? We'll have 9/13 yo grandkids who will want to spend time there - DH and I would just be there to supervise. I am guessing that the 9yo will require an adult to be present since that seems to be the policy on other activities. What would you suggest?
I'm guessing the zipline is out for the boys since the starting point is so far from the end point.

Thanks to you both. I went ahead and called RC. For whatever reason the ones classed as connecting (showing in light orange) hold two people each. The many others that simply have arrows are the same as any other 3/4 occupancy, etc and just happen to connect. Doesn't make much sense but I understand now.
Sunshine3601 thank you for the other suggestions. We've always cruised in the same cabin with our two grandson/cousin boys and we're ready to have more space and privacy, and the extra bathroom. DH wants his balcony, and his balcony he shall have. So there we are. As long as I'm not running around a theme park all day, I'd be happy with anything.

Can someone explain why some cabins are listed as being "connecting cabins" (ex 1) and others show on deck plan as connecting based on the double-arrow key (ex 2)?
Examples from Odyssey of the Seas: 1) 7286-7288 and 2) 7294-7296
Related: DH requires a (non-obstructed) balcony cabin. We are traveling with two 9/13 yo boys and want to put them in a connecting room. We want the rooms to actually connect. For Odyssey, is there such a thing as connecting ocean-view and balcony combination? Something that would be less expensive that 2x balcony?

Hi, excuse me but I don't have time to do a lot of research and relying on y'all to point me in the right direction here...
We are cruising in two weeks and are facing imminent passing of a relative. I went to read the legal language on our travel policy only to discover I (apparently) never completed the online purchase. We need to know if and what to purchase at this point. My questions:
- How late can I purchase the insurance before travel? We would know within the next week if we are able to cruise, or not.
- Our primary reason for purchase would be to cover medical expenses in case of COVID or other sickness, as well as cover expenses related to the sickness.
- It looks like Carnival will give us credit if we can't board due to positive test, and while I would like to not lose any money, the cost of the cruise was super inexpensive and we could afford to lose that expense if we had to. We are driving to port and pre-cruise hotel can be cancelled same day.
- What else should I consider - we are a bit rattled here.

OP I think that is a perfectly acceptable plan. We plan to do something similar. Since the virus is airborne having someone lingering in your cabin while cleaning increases risk. At this point I'm about avoiding getting the virus while on the ship and suffering a quarantine. So I'll do what is easily within my control to mitigate the risk and not sweat the rest.

We are looking at a 7-day Caribbean cruise March '22. I'd like to + the basic cruise with The Key (is that still a thing?), basic drink package, 4 nights specialty dining. What would be the add-on costs to the basic cruise? How do I know if Key is available/price prior to booking? What else should I look at? We are mid-60s and won't be doing rock walls, flow riders, zip lines, etc. We do want to be able to book shows, restaurants and classes. Thanks!
Edited to add this would be our first RCL cruise. We've done DCL, NCL, MSC YC and Carnival... if that helps.

When we sailed on Divina YC, we were on the port side a couple of steps from the YC elevator (which I need to be able to access the pool deck). It was pure luck as I didn't know the location of the elevator in advance. I loved that I did not need to enter the YC concierge area to go back and forth to pool. Is there a similar setup for Mervavilgia? I would like to be on the same level as Top Sail Lounge. Can you make suggestions? Thanks!

We stay overnight in Fort Pierce when we sail out of Miami. It has some decent chain hotels (I Priceline for best price) and same with food. Easy drive into Miami and to the port. We do early port arrivals so traffic is never an issue. No idea how Super Bowl would affect that.

That said.....they are both Florida embarkations so at least it is not NYC.
Good info - I did not know that was a tender "port". Thanks! We were on Disney's Castaway Cay in Feb. The ship docks right at the island pier so going ashore was not a problem - but they cancelled virtually all water-based excursions.

I'm going to book today for a 7-day Caribbean on NCL sailing anytime late February-April 2020. The current promotion ends today. We have only sailed Escape with NCL. Since Escape we've done MSC YC and Disney with kids/grands.
On Escape we loved drink package, anytime dining, and all of the small and large venue entertainment - we especially liked Howl at the Moon. We did not do specialty dining. This next trip will definitely include that. We are not sundeck fans and will have a balcony. The go carts, ropes courses, etc are also not a factor. We prefer Eastern to Western itineraries.
If Encore's restaurants are similar to Bliss - that is a big reason to choose her. Plus she's new and one would assume "better". Sailing out of Miami is generally smoother in Feb-March time frame.
Breakaway goes to the private island. Port Canaveral is a closer drive from SC. Breakaway has Howl!
What would you recommend? I have to get to work (should have started already 😐) so I haven't looked at all of the options. These just seemed like the most obvious choices.

We've sailed MSC Divina in the YC and Escape. We have Seaside YC booked and I'm here checking things out for a return visit to NCL.
NCL Escape - we loved the entertainment, anytime dining, Waterfront, incredibly fun and friendly crew, and again- the lively entertainment.There's not much we did not like.
MSC - the YC is a awesome experience. Outside of the YC - we had a really, really hard time getting drinks in the bars (and we were tipping). The entertainment was not to our taste - they were super talented but just not our taste. The pool areas seemed nice. Keep in mind this was about 4 years ago and a lot can change - especially regarding service as MSC has had time to acclimate more to sailing in the western hemisphere.
We just made the decision tonight to cruise in early 2020 . I'm going to grab the current NCL promotion and low deposit while it's offered and go from there. Good luck!

I just wandered back here after a 4 year absence from NCL ships to learn about Bliss/Encore. I think I've just made up my mind to go with one of the other ships. Howl was a stand out and a big reason I am wanting to book NCL again.

Thanks everybody. These are the things I was wondering. Port side was great in Divina because you could go back and forth to the pool without ever going out into the concierge area. We'll look for something starboard on Seaside.

Can someone point me to a post or describe the interior layout of the Seaside YC? We'll be booking soon and I want to select a cabin. We lucked out on Divina with a port side cabin located between the back/side entrance to Top Sail lounge and the elevators to One Pool deck. So we could access either location without walking through the concierge area, etc. It was really convenient. Looking for the same information on Seaside and, at least to me, the official deck plans don't show me where hallways connect. For example, if I am in 16007, how would I get to the One Pool or the restaurant? How many elevators are inside the YC - is it still just the one? Etc. I know the information is out there but I'm not finding it.

Thanks all! He asked specifically about Carnival so I made the disclaimer and told him Horizon is the best fit for his parameters - a week-long cruise over Christmas out of Florida. So I feel like my job is safe
But you're right, I'm not going to get too involved and don't want to invest too much time. So if anyone wants to throw in some recommendations for reservations/restaurants/on-board activities I will pass them along. We've been to the ports of call so I can give him some pointers there. If it's not their first cruise, it's been a while and never with DS.
Edited to add: He's booking with a member-based box store because of the perks and a couple of other reasons.

Thank you! We had seen before that our 30' motorhome was excluded. We called today and person answering phone said it was ok. We will call again next week to get a second person to confirm parking at the port is an option.
After I asked this question I found and called Gold Coast Car Rental and Parking. They said they can accommodate but we'd need to get our own transportation to port from their lot at 3000 se 6th Ave. Since we'll have 5 in the RV we're hoping to confirm parking at the port. Again, thanks so much.
