We are going on the Inspiration out of Long Beach. We will be staying Saturday-Monday in Los Angeles (Downtown) and then driving to port on Monday morning. Would like to grab brunch at a spot that overlooks the ship or somewhere we can see it...

Headed out on Carnival Inspiration on a Monday in March. I am surprising one of my friends. Got him to send me his passport and he will bring it so we got him registered etc and all of that..
I am trying to find the perfect place to spring the surprise on him the morning of the cruise. Is there a good restaurant or turn off (Via uber) we can tell him?
Any other ideas?

Just got an email that boarding is delayed for tomorrow's sailing out of Sydney till 2p.

Trying to book a 12nt cruise out of Sydney on the Solstice but the $50 deposit deal is not working? Is Australia excluded from that deal?
-
Waiting. We will see how long till boarding begins.

Any delay on disembarking?

Great picture.. Always wanted to try a sea day. I will be joining her on Sunday!

I am 29 and have been on Carnival, RCCL, NCL and Celebrity. In my opinion Celebrity is leaps and bounds above every other line. While definitely quieter during the evenings it is calming and relaxing. You don't see the drunks walking down the hallway. You look around and you truly see that everyone is on vacation and relaxing.
While not as crazy the amenities certainly make up for nightlife. The restaurants are far superior as well as the food and ship options. Nothing on Allure of Seas can measure up to Lawn Club Grille.
I tried Celebrity 5 years ago and I can certainly say I will never go back. I am taking my wife on the Silhouette for Thanksgiving (My 2nd time, her 1st) and I can't wait to see how she takes it being use to RCCL and Carnival.
Just my .2

I have been to Tuscan Grille and Lawn Club Grill. I didn't think anything could top Tuscan Grille but Lawn Club Grille sure comes close. It's so much fun and casual which is they key part to it. It's near the grass and it just a great outdoor fun atmosphere.
It's funny, Qsine use to be the hot topic and now I feel it has been worn out and people are tired of the idea. I remember when everyone thought it was so cool to be ordering on iPads. Maybe time for them to rethink their approach with that one.. Great idea but I just think people are going elsewhere. I would love to try it at some point but there are so many other options.

Fascinating. I have never heard of such a thing. I think it would be quite neat to stay on the ship from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. I wonder if it's an immigration policy that prevents B2B passengers from staying on.

I am on the Silhouette the week later so would also like to know.

I am surprising my friend on a Carnival cruise (4nt) out of Long Beach before we go on a work trip in October.
Question.... He has a drivers license and a green card. Will this get him on the cruise? IS there anything else he would need?
I am trying to do all the background info so I can surprise him..

Michael's Club is for suite/zenith only, and no gastrobar on Silhouette. Good beer is available in Cellar Masters. They have two large coolers filled with a wide variety. Many wouldn't be considered "craft" as their production volume is pretty high, but I was able to find a nice selection of IPA's and Belgians.
What IPAs were avail? Are they included in classic package or only premium?

Sure can! $10 per day. You can book it onboard.

I am tempted. Waiting on my wife to see if she can get the time off work

7 nights are way too short for us, especially with flying. Your plan sounds great.
Couldn't agree more. Why not make it worth your while. Especially that time of year and living in Colorado.

I have sailed on both so I know my wife will be blown away going from an inside on enchantment of the seas to an aft balcony on celebrity silhouette but I figured with it being $239 on enchanment its cheaper to be on the cruise then it is to fly in a couple of days early with hotel, etc.
-
It's an easy sell. I am tempted to just book it.
How do prices of these 4 nighters fare on the enchantment? Do they usually go down closer to sailing? $279 for an inside right now.
-
All different ports which is nice as well. And for the price it's cheaper going on the cruise than staying land side.

We have a 7 nt cruise booked over Thanksgiving on Celebrity Silhouette and the thought ran through my mind of doing a 5 nt Enchantment of the Seas cruise the Monday-Friday before we go on the 7nt leaving Sunday.
Has anyone done this? Is this too much cruising (Is there such a thing?).
The enchantment leaves out of Miami and Silhouette out of Ft. Lauderdale. We would get back on Friday and leave SUnday again on the Silhouette.
Just looking for thoughts on this now.

We will be renting a car and dropping it at Long Beach airport.. So maybe the surprise is just showing up at the ship..
