I noticed that with mine too.  I went to the 'other' airlines website, put in my confirmation or recorder # and was able to choose my seat for that one segment, making my selections complete.  I hope this helps.

You really have to consider which ones will benefit you the most. Some have little weight/bulk, some more. Some things I leave behind after the cruise in order to make room for souvenirs....

I found them too. They work great for keeping my towel positioned on the lounge chair and work for pinning wet things up to dry in my stateroom.

Glad you revived this thread. My latest tip isn't something to bring, but something useful to do. I put a standing order in with room service for a pitcher of ice water for each evening. It saved me the trip to the Buffett each evening that I was doing to have fresh cold water in my room at night and in the morning.

Persons who like magnetic hooks should consider the damage that magnets might do to cards with magnetic strips.

Agreed. Just like with the cruise reviews. Some of the things that make or break a great cruise for one person, have no bearing for another.

That said... Another thing or two that we like to bring:

The walls of the staterooms are steel soooo

1. Magnetic hooks for hanging my necklaces from (DH also uses them for his neck beads that he likes to wear in the tropics).

2. Magnets to post papers to the walls. Like our daily cruise paper and anything else that we don't want cluttering the surfaces in our room. You should see the "wallpaper" after a two week cruise!

3. Magnetic spice tins that I keep my earrings in.

4. Chip clips for keeping the curtains closed and not letting in that annoying slip of light.

5. A deck of cards to play a simple card game together while waiting for the entertainment to begin (we like good seats).

6. Cork screw & bottle stoppers

7. Not sure what to call this one...a gizmo that seals a caned soda, to keep it fizzy. I like the club soda in the mini bar, but one can can last a day or two for my needs.

That's a few that come to mind that make our cruise what WE want it to be.

They were with the hangers and other "laundry" stuff... I also found some "over the door" garment hooks, that we used on the small railing that was around the shelf that the TV was on, to hang our hats on, to keep them off of the surfaces that clutter up so easily. I used them on our last cruise and they worked out well

These are the clips that I was able to get at the Dollar Tree. They come in a pkg of 8... For $1. The Boca clips are adorable, but these will be fine for my purposes.

On our last cruise 2 weeks ago, I saw op the open sun deck someone had these es 2 very nifty hard plastic clips holding down their towels on either side of the top part of the deck chair ..it makes that your towel does not crawl down behind your back while laying in the sun in an upwards position. It will also keep your towel in the upwards position when you get up to go somewhere. It can even be used on the balcony to keep sun hats etc from being blown away. The clips were in the shape of a crocodile's mouth holding the towel in position.

 

It was so neat, I have never seen it being sold anywhere. That is something I am now looking for, for my deck chair for our next cruise.

I am not sure about the crocodile's mouth, but at the Dollar Tree they have packages of 8 clothes pins that have a bowed out shape in the clip so that it would grasp a rounded edge (like the tubular shape of the top of the chaise lounges). I have been using these for exactly the purpose that you described and for hanging things from the small railing at the edge of the shelf where the tv stand is (Princess Ships).

Amen...not everyone wants light in their room while sleeping. My light is left in the bathroom and is not an impact on my neighbors. I am sure this leaving the light on in the veranda works well for your intentions, but now that you realize the impact on others, an adjustment would be greatly appreciated.

I like the battery tea lights. At the Dollar Tree you can get a pkg of 3, each lasting 60 hrs. Actually, one lasted for the whole 14 day cruise! We would turn it on before bed, leaving it on in the bathroom. That way we could avoid turning on the overhead light, that can only be turned on before the door closes. They give off just enough light without being bothersome to us while we sleep, and not blinding us for the return trip back to bed.

I recently used a tip from this (or was it another) and wanted to share my experience. I bought the three pack of flicker tea light faux candles at the Dollar Tree. The pkg said they would last 60 hours. We went on a 15 day cruise and one candle lasted the entire cruise! I would click it on in the evening, before going to bed, and it was just the right amount of light in the bathroom for those middle of the night nature calls. Thanks to who ever thought this one up, I won't be traveling without one.
