  1. 20% is still a big number. We book on-board more often but use the site to pay and schedule. I would expect that a larger number than 20% pay and schedule as we do. As a shareholder I do think this may have a bigger effect than hurricanes. Cruisers buy trip insurance for hurricanes but if you can't get payments and sell excursions...that's a problem.

'And... it's frustrating when you are close to sailing. We are on the oasis April 8...in just a few weeks.

  2. We're on the AOS again in 34 days. We were last on the AOS in 2007. Loved the ship then. We've been on many that needed an update but a pristine ship is not our priority. The personality of the ship, how it's managed and the crew make or break a cruise. Our favorite RCL ships are the Jewel and the Brilliance but the Oasis class is our second favorite. We've been on the Jewel when it needed an update but never had a bad experience with her. You tend to see better deals when the furnishings are getting long in the tooth. Regardless, since there seems to be some questions, I'll drop a report in this thread when we get off the ship in Early March.

  3. My story...

My wife and I love to cruise and have been loyal RCCL cruisers and have taken full advantage of the C&A loyalty program.

A friend of mine told me about the shareholder on-board credit incentive. When I looked at the stock is was well down from the highs and paid out a nice dividend which was recently increased. I happened to buy into RCL prior to the dividend increase so I was really happy to have invested.

We have three upcoming cruises all booked on-board previous cruises. When I asked about the on-board credit I was informed of the restrictions already mentioned and outlined in this thread.

My question is this: Are there any C&A members that can actually take advantage of this? When we make reservations on-board or on-line, there is always some sort of loyalty discount applied. I have to wonder how many even get to take advantage of this when there is seldom some other C&A incentive that you would not have taken advantage.

I will keep the RCL shares as the return is actually very good, but it would be nice to have a shareholder program that would not be mutually exclusive of the C&A program. Heck, if you are a shareholder and a C&A member, that would make you very loyal owner/customer -- I guess I answered my own question... Just disappointed with how restrictive the program.
