We have been on many cruises (platinum) and have never received a call or email. We are leaving on the Breakaway this weekend for a 2 week cruise. We called the upsell department and was able to upgrade our inside to a balcony.

We were on the Jade last month. Since we were in Venice for a day before the cruise we took the people mover from Piazza Roma to the ship. I think the people mover costs around 1.5 euros per person. It was a long walk to the ship and it was really hot. Getting on board was really easy as was the debarkation. We had a great cruise.

We are sailing on the Gem out of New York on November 13th. Sailing to the Caribbean on a 10 day cruised. Fingers crossed that the ship will be ready after this week's dry dock.

On a trip to Alaska we decided to put all our winnings from the casino aside and use it to pay the gratuities. My biggest win was about $150 but we did accumulate enough to make our room steward happy. Other than that I won $50 on Deal or No Deal.

Katie Turner is on the Quantum. Ken Rush just replaced Jimmy Rhodes as the Cruise Director.

we had breakfast there this morning. There is a small buffet set up. We were not impressed. We talked to some people last night who were offered a free dinner at 8:30 if they gave up their 6:30 reservations at Chic.

Having a great time on the Quantum.

We are on the 2nd full day of the cruise. So far so good. We have free wifi and the dinners at Grand and Chic were both good. Slots are very tight. Any questions?

We like the buffet for breakfast because the toast is hot. Every time I eat in the MDR they deliver cold toast. I also like to get fried eggs from the omelet station.

I like to get the lox and bagels for breakfast in the dining room. I always ask for two bagels because they are tiny.

Hi Fellow Cruisers.
Have sailed on the Norwegian Jade recently in the Eastern Med and loved it a lot. Just wondering about jumping ship to the Celebrity Silhouette for our next Med Cruise in 2015. Not so sure about Celebrity although their ships look great. Is there much difference between these cruise lines??????
Cheers and Thanks. Bob.:):):)
We are big fans of NCL. We have never been on the Jade but we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of NCL. You don't have to get dressed up for dinner and there are no set dining times. We have cruised on the Silhouette and it is a beautiful newer ship with set dining times. I am sure you would enjoy either cruise.

We have met the captain and other crew on the Norwegian Meet and Greets. On a recent RCCL cruise someone from the cruise director's staff was there and gave out a small prize and we also got tickets to the ice show because the sign up for that was at the same time. I liked the NCL meet and greets better.

Thanks for all the advice. On my cruise next month we have already ordered the low salt meals. We did that last time but my ankles still were swollen. This time I am going to bring more water and will give up coffee, tea and anything made with the ships water like juice. I am also going to try to not have drinks with ice in them. I will stick to martinis, beer and wine. Fingers crossed that it will help.

Thanks for the review. I'm excited and looking forward to being on the Dawn in late November. Can you tell me, did the Pearly Kings do Karaoke every night or was it just a special event during the week?
We were on the Dawn last week and had a fabulous time. Karaoke was held most every night. I would say probably five nights out of the seven.
What is your favorite cruise tradition?
