  1. Hi I'm Barbara from  Tarrytown, NY  I have cruised several times with Carnival I'm at the end of my gold.. woo hoo (whatever) LOL   Can't wait to walk around this beautiful ship and take it all in.  I'll be traveling with my grandson who is 13 and found out after I booked that my son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters will be 3 doors down from us, We all booked an interior cabin.... in the Terenzia area, who needs a balcony when you have the aft of the ship, with drinks served and a light breakfast LOL.. I have been to these ports before, Of course, I can't say enough for HMC  LOVE IT, Grand Turk, wear water shoes, D.R  we will be sharing that port with another ship they arrive an hour before us, so Who knows, Last year I took my grandson to  Ocean world for the day to swim with the dolphins which was great, and got back to port and enjoyed a quiet pool for about an hour.   I am really praying the buffet food will be plentiful and a good variety Last summer on the Magic I have to say it sucked.  Other areas to eat were good, especially the Crab legs and shrimp while sitting pool side watching the sun set

  2. While I was getting ready to book my upcoming Carnival cruise, I was offered to use Uplift (payment options interest free )  along with a 100.00 on board spending,  I am wondering if anyone else has used this, and if they were able to see the onboard credit applied before your travel date. There is no speaking to anyone at this company, or to personally answer a email,  So figured I would ask the experts here   Thank you in advance for any knowledge

  3. You cannot put it towards a Haven:o

Also, if you have already booked, you would have to cancel and re-book to use your points.

With 30,00 points you can book (pay for) a inside cabin and upgrade to an Oceanview ,

or Oceanview to Balcony upgrade (Single meta upgrade)

To redeem your WorldPoints points for Norwegian products, please call 1-866-954-4077.

Points must be redeemed prior to sailing for onboard benefits.

    https://www.ncl.com/world-points

didn't think so, but balcony is like the same price as a OV... and a MS is only a few dollars more, was just wondering how you got 6,000 out of those points
  4. The rewards are worth it if you use them for meta upgrades on longer cruises.

I redeemed 30,000 points for $6000 in value back in August.

    Steve

I have over 30,000 points,, I booked a family ocean view... what kind of cabin can I upgrade to using my points... ($6,000?) can I put it towards a Haven catogory?

  5. Hey Barb!! Always good to hear from you. You go girl!! I am so jealous. Vacation fund wise we had to choose between the 11 day Vista and the 14 day Pride repo. The Pride won out, but if we knew that you would be on the Vista we "might" have changed our minds :D Make sure you post a review!! Sorry for the hijack Jimbo!

This came out of No Where, with my friend asking me to join her.... I was going through such withdrawl.. and now I feel so much better knowing I have like 88 days before this cruise instead of the 187 for my orgional one, that were still taking.... Tell Patty I said hello.... This is going to be my big 60 so what a celebration I am giving myself! Will be sitting on the beach in Antiga and than Dinner in the steak house,

  6. I totally agree with you. I also booked a cabin on Deck 10 forward assuming that would put me closer to a smoking area so I could easily comply with the rules. I am hoping the smoking areas for the Vista are still a work in progress. Apparently it started with just the casino and Deck 11 Port side aft and then yesterday Heald included the lanai. Hopefully there will be some area on Deck 11 forward added as well like most of the other ships.

    Time will tell...

Just wondering since you have sailed,, Where are the official smoking area's Any place you can lay back enjoy the sun? Bars? Thanks

  7. Hey Jimbo!! Welcome back. Really looking forward to this review!!

Hi Jimbo and Jamman I just pulled the trigger with a friend I met on a different line, She was going Solo... well NO more Nov 5th Here I come 11 days,,, Been dreaming of this since last summer... Now to read your review! :D Yes Jeff leaving Hubby home on this one, But hopefully this Jan he will be with me on our 14 day winter cruise out of NY.. Mama just needed some R&R

  8. I just paid for a cruise using my new NCL master card and the charge shows up on the Bank of America mobile site as Norwegian Cruise Line not Travelocity.

No matter where you charge it, and it's for NCL it will show up NCL with your triple points. So enjoy how ever you decided to spend your points

  9. Have 41,111 points currently. Been nice to have had triple points in December when I paid our cruise off. :) My question is, are these points only redeemable in 5,000 point increments or would my onboard credit be $411 if redeemed now ? If 5,000 point increments then, to get to 45,000 points I would have to charge $4,900 or about 1/3 that with NCL and all our reservations are already covered. For $50 additional onboard credit. My cruise is in August, how close to sailing can I redeem points ? I believe my statement closing is the 10th of the month. Regards, Gerry

Hi Last jan I cruised and used 250.00 obc and Made new points with using my card for on board account to make new points, (to me it was like free money even though If I left it to pay my bill I think it would have been a few bucks more than what I had on OBC... and I called about 2 weeks prior to cruise date, I made sure I got an email conformation before hanging up with them JUST in case of any glitches printed it and brought with me, but when I got to my room I had several OBC cards with amounts on each of them..

  10. I recently added some things for our upcoming cruise this Saturday, and the representative told me all NCL purchases are now triple points! Sweet!

I saw that too, but didn't know IF it was just for NEW card members, but IF it's for all of us that is great,, so that will mean still the double or triple now for NCL purchases?

  11. Trust me, it was more like an ambush than a welcome back. All it did was slow people down, that were already rushing to get back to the ship. Get out of the way and let people board.

What was the Rush,, did you think the ship was leaving with out all those people enjoying the welcome back dancing and having a good time...

And maybe they should load people into those boats banging on the side of a big ship due to swells, And I know this person should have known they were going to get really sick and needed medical attention just to ruin everyone elses vacation...

  12. Our family group of three adults and three six-year old children took a Celebrity Reflection excursion on November 24th from the port in St. Thomas to Magen's Bay beach in an open air bus with no seat belts, shoulder harnesses, and no guardrails on one side of the bus over steep, curvy roads where passengers had to hang on going around corners to avoid being tossed out. Fortunately it was uneventful, but I would not do it again. We were not informed of this mode of transportation prior to the excursion. It is surprising that Celebrity would take such risks with their passengers.

I read it WAS NOT one of their excursions, Had to be either a group of people who got together to go to the beach and tour, Or just people filling the van ... so horrible to have to read about something like this happening.

  13. With drink packages 18% paid in full or was included before the change,, Isn't there still a 18% on all drinks while in your home port (or is that just NY port?) I have read where people were charged tax for their drinks before hitting the open water

  14. I booked cruise thru a TA today. I selected the excursion credits. Am I supposed to see this somewhere on the NCL site (my reservation is there).

Can I book the excursions now....or do I wait until I'm on the ship?

When ever you are ready to book your shore excursions you MUST call NCL to do this, You will not be charged any of the above 50.00 until you are on board. You will get your tickets for your shore excursion in your cabin
