Has anyone done the Emerald Princess mini suites - category M1 that are called club class or renamed to reserve class?
How does it work with dining in the separate area of the dining room? What about using the app to make dining reservations in advance when in this class of room?
Any news on what sort of menu items are the additional items?
Thank you

Your review is one of the best I’ve seen in years. I love how you back up your observations with photos, especially of the food. Thank you.

Thank you everyone for the advice. All great info. I went into the app and reserved times based on our schedules for the day.

Loving this detailed review. Thank you. We drove down to Tampa and viewed the ship in port as you left on Friday. We booked this cruise for February and are. Rey excited.

We have always done early seating, but decided to try anytime dining for Feb 2023 Constellation. Sitting at a table for two is our goal and is important to us. It was a problem getting switched on the Equinox in June. Hence why we are trying anytime for our next cruise.
I see we can reserve times in the app for anytime dining.
Question. If we have a reservation, we just show up at that time. When we show up can we request a table for two or will we be pre reserved at an assigned table (which could be a large top)? Are we better to reserve a time or just show up?

I have looked at the cabin thread and spreadsheet, but just looking for more input please before I book.
Is Equinox cabin 1194 a good one? We don’t mind aft. We don’t mind a long walk to elevator.
no problems with obstructed view or anything, right? From what I can tell there is shade on the balcony too and not too overlooked. Am I correct?
thank you for any advice

Decided to sail on the Eurodam for the New Year's sailing in a balcony cabin. I have sailed HAL before (but it's been a while). I have read the boards for tips and info (thanks everyone). I please need to make sure I am understanding a couple of random things correctly:
1. There is definitely hair conditioner provided in the cabins?
2. On gala nights, it is okay for my guys to just wear dress pants, dress shirts, and tie. The jacket is optional, correct?
3. I can carry on soda and water in either bottles or cans?
4. How is the pull out sofa for the 3rd person in the cabin. My husband and son are both tall, so I requested two single beds for them and I will be on the sofa bed.
Thanks everyone!

Ken the cruiser,
Yes, we got to choose the cabin. The HAL agent called the upgrade desk to find out options, then let us decide which one we wanted. Smooth process for the upgrade.

Sevenseasnomad,
Great advice. I will make final payment today and see what happens.

Ken the cruiser,
The upgrade worked great! Booked the lowest category veranda and then was upgraded to the highest category veranda instantly.
I'm still nervous not seeing Club Orange in my own line access. I just hope everything works ok at check in. I understand we go to a different line at embarkation and that our ship card is a Club Orange card.
I'm trying to do some cruise critic research to see what else I can learn.

Thanks DFWGUYZ, It wasn't in that spot, so I ended up calling. They confirmed I have it, but said that I won't see it when I am in my reservation.

Just booked Club Orange for an upcoming cruise. Where in my online HAL reservation would I see proof that I have it?
Thank you

Early seating is not available. I am interested to hear opinions on As You Wish Dining on the Zuiderdam for New Year's. Party of 3. If we go at 515, do you think we will have to wait a long time? Will being Club Orange help us with wait times? Thank you

Does anyone have a recipe for Princess' Shrimp Daniele served in the main dining room? My son loved it. It's not in the Princess cookbook I have.
Thanks

Great thread!
Any info on Caribe Deck 10? We are in a side facing toward the aft.

A huge thanks for starting this thread Misha 227. Yes, maybe we will bump into each other. I am counting down the days already. Are you super excited too? The thought of waking up Christmas morning and being in the Panama Canal is so cool. We love to cruise at Christmas.
Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts too. I totally respect what everyone says about sticking with what you signed up for. I am a die hard traditional early seating person, and this is the first time I have encountered this situation in many, many cruises. I always book excursions so that we are back on time. I am diabetic, so it's kinda important for me.
Thanks Homosassa for pointing out that Panana Canal cruises may be different and might all be anytime that night. I can totally see how it might be different given the nature of not being able to nail down exact times with the locks situation. I will hope this option is what happens.
I am interested to hear from anyone else who has done the Panama Canal to see if it is different with Princess for this itinerary.

Hi Misha227
I am on the same cruise, and I have exactly the same dilemma. Our excursion says that it doesn't know exactly when it gets back due to what time the ship gets through the locks or something. I was hoping too to just show up for anytime dining, even though we have early traditional. It makes me think there will be lots of others doing the same thing that day. Surely, they must have experienced this before with the Panama Canal day???? I'm not a fan of the specialty restaurant choices for this ship. Gosh, buffet on Christmas night or room service. Oh well. Maybe the night before, Christmas Eve, will be special.

I searched and found this thread, but it's a year or so old. Has anyone had recent experience carrying on soda? Can I carry on in my hand luggage? I also searched the Princess FAQ and didn't see any reference to it.

Has anyone done the sloths tours through Princess Cruises?
Trying to figure out what the main difference is between the "Meet the Sloths" for $120 and the "Meet the Sloths Exclusive Behind the Scene tour" for $270. I understand the more expensive one is only a group of 6 and you go behind the scenes, but you still don't get to touch them at all. Has anyone done the more expensive one and was it worth it?
Appreciate any advice. Thank you

I was on this cruise last month. In Montenegro, we went to Lady of the Rock and the tour directions said knees and shoulders covered. I wore light weight just below the knee casual capris and a shirt that had a small sleeve and was loose and cottony. It was fine. I saw many people ignore the guidance and wear shorts and whatever they liked too. I felt it better to honor the requests. The rest of the cruise, there weren't any locations that required it. The strictest I've ever seen it was years ago at the Vatican. I saw them turn people away. On this cruise, I did not see anyone turned away.
