For all of you seasoned cruisers I would like to know if I should go through a travel agent or make plans myself.
I made a reservation last week then spoke with a Travel Agent who has taken over the booking; That was on a lower deck and over the weekend past I was able to reserve with an entirely different reservation a preferred upper deck. My question is whether it is worth it to still go through the TA and have them take over the second or just cancel the initial reservation all together. I found out I can not make any changes nor get any information on those bookings made by a TA. I really feel uncomfortable having the planning taken out of my hands. If this were a tour outside of the country or something quite complicated I would need the help. But this is so straightforward unless there are things I am not aware of
Thanks to all,

After you place a deposit is it possible to ask for additional perks or cabin price reduction when you see them on the Royal Caribbean website?
My cruise is not until March of 2017.
Does working with a travel agent add anything to your cruise experience that you can't advocate on your own?
Thanks all

But what about the collection of people and the opening of the doors constantly and the dinging of the elevator bell all hours? under normal circumstances are adjoining room noises very audible through the door?

Which hotel would you recommend to stay one night before a cruise out of fort lauderdale

Can anyone suggest a choice of cabins. There are only 5 cabins left on the Allure of the Seas for an Eastern Caribbean cruise.
7660 , 7654, 6660, 6654 and 6260. Which and why? I was thinking of 7660 but its next to the elevator according to the diagram or 7654 but it is a connecting room. Any suggestions?
thank you so much

I am planning a cruise for next year on the Allure. I am looking into either a Jr suite or Grand suite. Can anyone give advise on how to pick a good stateroom in these two categories. Also any advise on getting the best prices.
thanks.

Best rule of thumb when booking a cabin, Look at your deck plans do book above or below dinning area, clubs, pool, gym. A lot of Carnival ships have deck 2(Main),deck6(upper) part of deck 8 verandah
If on the bottom up front watch for noise from anchor, on back thrusters,
Is there a lot of noise above the dining area? I am considering an aft suite just above the dining area on the new Eurodam from the HAL line

Thanks
that's how I feel. I was really taken aback when they said I couldn't even find out the cost of the trip ( I had not written it down and was away from my computer)
When I had spoken to the TA the only thing she could offer were slippers and possibly $50. I think I will cancel so I can be at the helm myself .
Thanks all.
One more. Cant I compare perks, prices and offerings and call RC to negotiate. Or do TAs have a special relationship with the cruise lines. how do TA's get paid. Maybe I could do that after I retire.
