We  did  a  27  TA with British  Isles  this  past  spring.  No  issues  for  us....but  then  again anytime  on  a  cruise  is  better  than a  day  at  work.

Staff  were   friendly, dining  room  wait  staff  were  excellent.

Food   overall  was good....some  days  OK.

Ship  is  not  new   and does  show  some  age.

Vines  bar  is  wonderful with  excellent  staff  (if  Carmen is there,  she  is  the  best)

Sailed  on  the  Crown  11  times  thus  far.....with  2  more  schedules  .

OMG Carmen is the best!   I sure hope she is on when we sail in November.

  2. We saw the Parrots in the Piazza on our last CB cruise in April. I believe it was the first time it was done. The lady brought out 4 or 5 birds and they were beautiful. However, she started the show about 20 minutes before scheduled so they had to explain to her to wait until her time frame so folks could arrive. There were quite a few people that came and at the end you were welcome to approach & see the birds for photos.

They also had steel drum lessons in the Wheelhouse Bar and again, quite a few people participated.

I think both of these are a great idea and people will enjoy them.

  3. We were on the CB for 10 days in April. The "Crimson Duo" in the Wheelhouse were very good, IMHO. There was a couple who were on the ship B2B2B cruises and came every nite just to dance. The dance floor was crowded when they were there. They played a variety of music and we really enjoyed them.

There was also a group that played different venues around the ship and I think they were called Ex-cite or something like that. They were also good but with a more modern flare. The duo who played the electric violins in the Piazza also had a crowd when they played. Oh, and don't miss the "Love Boat" deck party, it was really fun with the Princess dancers for entertainment, good time had by all.:D

  4. We were on the Crown in November & December last year and no life vests at Muster. I also noticed that the crew is approaching people on their phones, chatting, etc. to pay attention. The one thing I did not care for is the "Safety Song" they play now to the theme of the "Love Boat". Just seemed very tacky, IMHO.

  5. Not unless the ship still has the "old" Sabatini's menu. There is no lobster of any kind on the new menu that is now on most of the ships. (Lovely veal chop is also gone.) They have gone to less expensive ingredients. They had the old menu on Royal when I sailed her in mid Dec & I had the lobster 3 ways. Third way was a "Thermidor" type sauce. I am sailing on Regal next weekend & they have new menu. Does not look very inviting so think I will pass.

Agree!! We will be on the Caribbean Princess in 4 weeks and were thinking of going to Sabatini's but will pass and do the Crown Grill 2x instead.

  6. We just finished our cruise on the Crown Princess. We were on the Baja deck and the mattress, bedding need replaced for sure, carpets were fine throughout the ship and thought she looked good. Really enjoyed the food selections in the Horizon Court and dining room entrees but some nights dinner service was very slow...2 hours or longer. We did not care for The change in the Wheelhouse Bar with The white tables at all. Takes The ambiance away serving food, etc. But just my opinion. The crew is outstanding on this ship and we are returning for a 8 day in Dec.

  7. Have used ParknGo MANY times, and they are awesome.. plus so much cheaper.. don't hesitate to use them.. but use online reservation, as it saves money instead of going directly to the lot..

GREAT Advice & We will be using them in October for our 2 weeker!!

  8. We have been on both ships and while the Regal is newer, we prefer the Caribbean Princess. While the buffet on the Regal is a big improvement over Horizon Court on the Caribbean, we love the "Wheelhouse Bar", Explorers Lounge, Club Fusion and Skywalkers in the "handle". Having a cocktail and looking at the sea from up there is what vacation is all about.

However, I prefer the itinerary on the Regal, so whatever you decide - Enjoy!

  9. I believe DH and I took this Princess excursion and we were very disappointed with the supplier. Chairs were broken, beach was not very attractive (at least where they took us) and the restaurant/bar was run down. We were suppose to go to some beach resort but they had to change for some reason. Next time we visit we will do the beach on our own.;)

  10. We booked the January 14 night too. I know it's a long way off but it has so many ports, there will be lots of time to plan!

OH Nuts and We booked the October!!

Yes, so true. Real 14 day cruises! Booked ours on opening day too :D !

We did too, so excited to have a real 14 day cruise.:D
