Lunch (upstairs) at Holland House.  View over the bay and cruise ships to far off left..

    Walkable?   Yes approximately 20 minutes.

But, shuttle minivans will ply for fares back to ship along Front Street, think about $3 pp

If seeking a special bottle of Malt, Rum, Rhum etc, then a look inside Gulmohar’s on Front Street.

Thank you so much for your help. Not sure if we'll stay on the bus and go back to the ship or take the 10 minute walk into Phillipsburg, depending on how tired we are! LOL

    Eat at Harbour Lights.

The beach at Harbour Lights (Carlisle Bay) is practically the closest beach to the port. They serve the usual cheeseburger or chicken and fries etc.

We were there at Christmas. Service was fast so eating didn’t take up too much beach time. Not fine dining but we were all hungry and food was hot. No one had any complaints and for my kids that is very unusual 😋

My advice would be to eat lunch next to a stunning beach and avoid the port area.

thank you for your opinion. Makes me feel better after hearing your experience!

The water taxis are right at port along with the land taxis.  They have taxi stands where you purchase tickets. We spent the day diving at St. Kitts, so we didn't use a water taxi, but many people did and it looked very easy with standard prices.

thanks for your info.. we just were concerned about how far away the sea taxis are from the ship.seems close from what you said, TY!

We did it through Celebrity.  Great tour.  We had just under two hours at the beach.

hi, we're o the Edge in April and thinking about doing the Day trip to Nevis and beach day with Celebrity. So does Celebrity drive you to the sea taxi or must we walk? How long is the ride to the sightseeing spots as mentioned in the description?. After the walking around, we're driven by boat to the beach? How long are we actually ON the beach at Pinneys before we sail back to port? TYIA

  5. Hi, has anyone been on Celebrity's "Day Trip to Nevis and beach day.". How do you get to the sea taxis? Are they at the port? Not sure how big their water bus/taxis are, how long is the walking tour , how long are you actually at the beach (Pinney's Beach) and basically how long is the boat ride to the beach? Literature only says trip is 6 hours long but they don't give the times in each part of the trip? Also is it easy to get on the water taxis? Steps or ladder? Thanks in advance!

  6. Spending the day doing the bus tour. In Philipsburg on Dutch side. It ends before lunch. Any recommendations for nice spot in Philipsburg? It says we must find our way back to the ship pin our own if we stay in town after tour. How far is the end of the tour to the ship? Walkable? Any other must see's while  there? Thanks in advance!

  7. Hi, we're sailing on 10 day ultimate southern Caribbean on the Edge in April. Having been to most of these islands already on previous cruises, we're thinking of doing new tours and would like feedback from previous cruisers before we book. So here's our plans:

St Maarten- Double Decker Bus Island tour,

    St Lucia-St Lucia Beach Break

    Barbados-Scenic Drive and Beach Break

    Antigua-Catamaran Cruise and Lobster Lunch

St Kitts- can't decide?- Carambola Beach Break, Coastal Cruise, Beach and Steel Band or Beach Break

Obviously nothing strenous, just relaxing on the beach and light touring. Thoughts from personal experience here???

Thank you in advance for any replies.

The tram ride from the Vieux Port up to Notre Dame de la Garde is cheap, fun and a winding ride through neighborhoods. Once up at the cathedral, you will have a magnificent view of the city (and of my son’s house if you know where to look!). Marseille is certainly not a village, but it is a fun, interesting city. Just beware of strangers offering “help.”

thank you for the info. Unfortunately we decided to cancel this cruise...maybe next time but at least we've done 2 previous Med cruises so we have our memories!

Some rapid fire answers: Concierge class won't get you on board any earlier than anyone else. You don't need reservations for the MDRs, show up any time. You can have more than 3 courses if you like, ie. 2 appetizers, 1 main course, 2 desserts. Shorts are against the dress code in all dining rooms for dinner. He will need long pants.

  10. We just booked a 10 day Southern on Edge in April. Never been on Celebrity so I have a few q's. Please be kind and try to help, I know I can call them but sometimes this is easier.

We booked with the Concierge Class Event. Not sure what this entitles us to other than the few things we were told when booking. Do we get to board earlier than non Concierge guests? If so, when? Do they scan our tickets as we get to the boarding area so they know we're Conceirge? So no waiting in long check I lines?

We took a 3 night specialty restaurant package. Can we make dinner reservations online before we board? Can we select the dates and venues for our 3 nights or do they tell us when we can dine in those 3 restaurants? No reservations needed in the 4 MDRs. Correct? We elected to have "anytime dining so we can just check in at the hostess stand and go in?

Are we entitled to a 3 course meal in those specialty venues? No additional charges there?

We also purchased a Bev/internet and tips package. How can I get a list of included beverages/drinks/ liquor on this package?

The only restaurants where my husband can wear nice shorts are those not in the specialty dining group so nice shorts and collared shirts are ok for him elsewhere?

So sorry for all the questions. We're used to other cruise lines and they all seem to have different ways. We're very excited to sail on such a magnificent ship. Many many thanks for your indulgences to my q's.

  11. We are docked in Marseilles for the day on NCL Epic in June. We love the idea of just meandering around the piers watching the boats, having seafood by the water and relaxing without a formal tour. Any suggestions? Can you just get off the ship and walk around on your own? NCL has one that offers Le Castellet tour but after the bus ride, it's a walking tour with a guide. We don't want to have to be led around at a fast pace, better to go at our own pace due to knee issues. Not sure that's what we want. Ideas welcomed!

  12. hi, we did a private shore excursion years ago that took us in a mini van to Eze. It was enchanting. Narrow alleyways, lovely old buildings, great shopping in small stores, beautiful scenery...a fantastic day. I must add that the streets were mostly cobblestone from what I remember so walking might be a challenge for some. And there were steps to climb to see things but we did it years ago when our knees were a lot stronger. LOL, you'll love it. We went to Cannes too on a private tour with 10 people in a mini bus, but by comparison, Eze was much more exciting, beautiful and unforgettable. IMHO

  13. We are thinking of doing this shore excursion because we are not fans of a lot of walking around due to bad knees

Has anyone taken this specific tour? How hard is it to walk around especially with the tour guide? And how much free time do we really get at each stop? Enough for a meal and relaxing? TYIA
