  1. It's certainly not the elevators that will have any noise associated with the close and convenient midship location...it's the noise that may come from the Centrum in the evenings...doesn't bother some, but may other's.

As far as deck choice...I prefer deck #9.

On the Serenade they do shut the security doors from the Centrum to the cabin area around 10pm. That cuts down on a lot of noise.

  2. I'm not there yet in points and I usually get tubes.

    Maybe it depends on ship...

I only asked once and room steward got them for me!

Still....I always carry my own Shampoo/ conditioner.

Asked our room steward on the Serenade(even offered $5) he said he would get fired if he gave us premium bathroom amenities when we didn't,t have enough points.

  3. It depends on the type of room you are booked in I had the soap dispenser and bars of soap that was it in a large ocean view balcony. No bottles of lotion, shampoo or conditioner.

The only time you get the little tubes if you are Diamond++, or in a suite. We are D+ with 270 points and were told we couldn't, get little tubes of shampoo, rinse&lotion until we had 340 points.Used to when we first made D+ just like we used to get free Johnny Rockets!

  4. Are you able to get a pizza with the toppings of your choice.

The last time on the allure. They wouldnt allow you to pick your toppings. Even though we were allowed on other Allure sailings

  5. Very sad to read your review on Chops......This was always a place we looked forward to dining in. In the past we've had outstanding dinners. Just can't figure out what's happened lately as they've continue to raise the price. Sounds like corporate has made a move that will end up back firing on them as this venue becomes vacant :(. Dear management, please stay away from the Park Cafe:p.

They have got to pay for the new builds by cutting costs on the older ships, sticking it to us long time loyal cruisers! Had steak at chops on the Oasis last month and it was so bad and tuff!

  6. Brian and others, thx for the Solarium pics. I for one AM disappointed with no pool. Now its just a sitting area, whats the point. The main attraction in Solarium has always been a pool for adults only, albeit small or large. Without one, it has no appeal for me, I can sit on a lounger anywhere and hot tub in multiple locations.

I felt the same way when we were on the Oasis, what a waste!

  7. Today started early with breakfast at Sabatini's. Lattes. fresh oj, my fav choco donut, and a bowl of berries & banana to start. Followed by eggs, French toast, potatoes & bacon. Mmmmmmm

After eating I went straight into the pool, and remained there till mid day, when I finally had enough of the heat. Ro still has a few hrs left in her. At 2:30pm, she was part of the largest spontaneous conga line at sea. Everyone is on vacation and having a good time! I went to the casino and gave some money back. That was followed by an iced coffee and some promenade deck reading. After that I watched The a Hunger Games 2. We had dinner at the buffet (Caribe tonight, Horizon last night). I had onion soup, pasta, pad Thai, potatoes, and breaded shrimp. We then went to see Seymour & Alfred in the theater. If I should see them around, I'll ask if they will still be performing on this ship.

Tomorrow we are in Grand Cayman, and the forecast is still looking good :)

Do they still have the ice cream and pop corn on the pool deck near the MUTS pool?

  8. I can so see my brain being mashed with the locations of places!!

I will be getting the Royal Replenish package so I can get my specialty coffee :)

Is there the equivalent of a Cafe Promenade on board? I've been scouring the deck plans but can't see one..... or does Park Cafe double as that?

No there is no Cafe Promenade. The Park Cafe is in the Solarium and Cafe Latitudes is on Deck 6 near the Photo Gallery. They have specialty coffee at both locations.

  9. I am on the 1/13 sailing and plan on doing another extensive review on the message board when I get back. I type up a summary every day on my iPad and post when the cruise is over. If there is a specific question, please let me know I will try to find out for you. :D

My DW and I will be doing a B2B starting 1/24/14. Could you see if the pool solarium is heated? Thankyou for doing a review.

  10. Have done B2B several times on different ships and also the same ship. Just find a ship that departs the same day we return from previous cruise , grab a cab from one pier to the other. Have folders with cruise Docs handy. Last Jan did 2 weeks on Caribbean Princess and came back to Port Everglades , took a cab to the pier where the Celebrity Eclipse was docked and did 14 days on the Eclipse.
