  1. I did the Behind the Scenes tour on the Breeze last December and really enjoyed it. After the tour, the participants were given small backpacks, a cap, a group photo with the captain and an individual photo with the captain. I think it was worth the price to do it at least once. Lots of walking and stairs. My hubby was unable to take the tour due to the amount of walking and climbing stairs.

  2. customcruisewear.com has all kinds of styles and pics. True to size and nicely done.

I agree. I have ordered cruise t-shirts from Custom Cruise Wear and have been completely satisfied. The shirts are of good quality. Mine didn't shrink. Love their designs.

  3. I plan to journal on our next cruise. I am concerned that I might not remember all the things I want to write down so I am creating a template that I can use for future cruises also. The plan is to print out the pages and keep them in some type of notebook. It has areas to document the weather, names of staff members, favorite meals, etc. Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread alive and for contributing ideas.

  4. I prefer the smaller ships. Easier to get to know your fellow passengers and to navigate the ship. My hubby has mobility issues and the smaller ships allows us to move around the ship with a little more ease. I don't need all of the new stuff they're putting on the ships now. Don't get me wrong, the newer larger ones are nice.

  5. Looking at Acquarius Tours for this summer while in Grand Cayman. I've seen several pictures of the boat and the ladder off the back. Does the ladder extend down into the water? Some ladders to get onto a boat (or out of a swimming pool) have the last rung of the ladder basically level with the water level. In other words, you have to hike your knee up to chest level in order to get onto the first rung of the ladder.I have a bad knee, like many others I'm sure, and am not in great physical shape, so wanted to check. If the ladder extends down into the water, I shouldn't have a problem, I don't think.

If anyone has photos specifically of the ladder, I'd sure like to see them. Thanks.

I'm so glad to see this thread. I would love to do the Acquarius tour with my hubby but he also has bad knees and wouldn't be able to lift his knees high enough if the ladder isn't down into the water. Please post a review and/or your thoughts after you go on your cruise this summer.

  6. We have only had the pleasure of enjoying a clamshell one time, on a cruise in Alaska. We just happened to walk by when a couple asked if we wanted their clamshell because they were leaving. Yippee! Loved it! I would do the same for someone else if I ever get the opportunity. On my next cruise, I plan to get there early, before breakfast. If I'm there alone and need to go to the ladies room, I feel bad about leaving a towel there to hold my place. Don't want to feel like a chog!

  7. We cruise in December each year for our anniversary. The Breeze, Magic, and Triumph have had ugly sweater contests for the last three years that I know of. On the Triumph, there was a Christmas carol sing-a-long with Santa and it "snowed". It was fun IMO. Kids seem to love it especially when Santa arrives on the elevator. He can be seen through the glass elevator. The decorations are nice and you take your own photos or take professional ones.

  8. We will be in Key West in December and are also considering renting an electric car because my husband has mobility issues. My concern is that parking spaces are so few and far between that we will wind up having to walk farther than is comfortable for DH. The upside is that we would be able to see what we want to see while in port. The hop on/hop off Trolley is also an option. I would love to hear from someone who has rented an electric car in Key West and read of their experiences.

  9. We had a balcony on the Lido deck and loved both. The noise level wasn't any greater than any where else on ship IMO. We aren't "pool people" but like being close to the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is always in the MDR. I prefer balconies but have stayed in interiors and they are fine. Love the darkness in the interiors for sleeping.

  10. I missed a call from Carnival today. Hoping it wasn't the upgrade fairy! :D Congrats to you...enjoy!

I don't always answer calls from phone numbers I am unfamiliar with so how will I know if Carnival is calling? what is the area code I should be looking for?

  11. Thank you for all of the information. We are traveling with Royal Caribbean and I am concerned about how far my DH will have to walk from the ship to the tour bus. He has a wheelchair. May have to bring it. DH can walk short distances. Hoping for some sort of transportation at the pier....wheelchair, rickshaw (sp), etc. I have only been to Cozumel (the port Carnival uses) and I'm unsure of how far he will need to walk. Will allow time for rest breaks as needed. Again, thank you.

  12. My husband has difficulties walking and requires the use a cane (left foot/ankle and right knee issues). We have an accessible cabin and will be going on appropriate excursions (very little walking). We will be cruising to Belize, Roatan, and Cozumel and I am wondering if there will be wheelchair assistance at the ports. Do I need to contact our cruise line (RC) to schedule a wheelchair for him at each port or will we do this once we are onboard? This is our first time traveling with disabilities. It is all new to us.

  13. lol. That is too cute! Would you like one of those instead of "I cruise for..."? Just tell me what you would like and I'll see what I can do. Do you want his name on it?

I like them all and it would be fun to have one for each port but my favorite is your original. No, I don't think he'd like his name on it. Thanks again.
