Hello all

We leave Sept 19 for a 9 day on the beautiful Odyssey of the Seas.

We are trying to plan our speciality dining. Are there 2 or 3 formal nights and does anyone know when those will be? The two sea days?

Also, what entertainment do we need to reserve when we board?

We are seasoned cruisers with 27 cruises checked off but have not cruised in Europe before. We are booked on the Odyssey out of Rome mid September.

What are some of the biggest differences we will see on the ship?

Also since this is mid Sept, should I plan to wear fall clothes or summer clothes? We love dressing up and I have heard it will be more formal. Is this true?

Any advice for newbies going across the pond? We have been to Europe but not on a ship.

We were on the Ovation on the Sept 3 sailing. My husband and I were impressed and happy with the rules and protocol out of Seattle. I havent been following the Florida sailings closely but know its been a fluid situation. (and that Florida is a mess with Covid cases)

We are thinking of booking a short cruise out of Florida in December. I am a bit worried the rules will be more lax. Does anyone know the differences between the sailings from Seattle verses Florida?

We are boarding the Ovation this Friday. Does anyone know if we can schedule entertainment after boarding on the Quantum class ships now? We couldn't schedule anything online like we have with previous cruises? 

Just need the emergency number for our daughter's to call if they cannot reach us on our phones.

I definitely understand that this is a fluid situation. I don't mind that the set sail time has changed. I do mind that they sold excursions and are now taking time away from ports but yet adding time in other ports. That doesnt make any sense to me at all.

Im just hoping they transfer our excursions to something similiar in the time frames we now have in those ports.

This is for my husband's 50th birthday, otherwise it wouldnt matter, as much. We already gave up the land tour in Canada..

We had an excursions booked in Juneau and Skagway and I just received an email that the port times are being changed so

apparently, we cannot do either of the booked excursions. I am so disappointed and angry right now.

Email states due to CDC regulations, they are removing some time from the ports and set sail. We now set sail at 6PM instead of 4 PM due to it taking longer to get people on board.

I hope they release different excursions to replace the current ones that are now not possible.....

So the closest I went to your hotel was White Heron Cellars which is in Pike's Market (a level down from street level). Pretty decent stuff - they have a wine tasting of all their stuff. 

 

The other 3 I went to are a bit farther away, but all close to each other. Browne Family Vineyards, Locust Wine, and Foundary Vineyards. The latter is a much smaller area if you want to do the tasting so I would call to reserve a time. They're all Washington wines. 

 

I actually walked to the other 3 from the first one so they're not that far. I strolled along the waterfront until I needed so it was a nice walk. I took the light rail back since I was carrying wine bottles and it was right there - but the stop was closer to my hotel than it would be yours. 

 

As for safety - it wasn't too bad. There was one or two streets that had camps set up on them, but I just avoided going down that street and I was otherwise left alone. I stayed at the Hilton on 6th and walked all around there with no problem.

When I have posted in less active forums, I dont get as many responses, hence me coming here. Not that I owe anyone an explanation.....

We spent an evening here in 2019. We loved it! It was one of our favorite places.

We are booked on the Ovation on Sept 3 to Alaska. We have two questions w the first being the easiest.

1. Where, near the pier or Marriott Waterfront, can we buy two bottles of wine to take on ship with us? We like good/more expensive wine so

need a wine shop or a place a bit better than a grocery store.

2. We were in Seattle for a week in fall of 2019 and fell in love with it. I know there are some concerns w safety now. We plan to fly in 2 days before the cruise 

and stay for 2 days after the cruise. I have our agenda pretty much planned. Is there anyplace we should avoid now that was safe in 2019.....

Heading out in Sept on the Ovation for our second Alaskan cruise. Anyone know who the CD will be? I was hoping for Mark but I think he is still slated for the Harmony.

Does anyone know who is playing in the piano bar on the Majesty? We board next Saturday in NOLA.

Well shoot!!! I have received several emails about the Royal Up and its been $1000 for the both of us. Not worth it for this cruise. I was hoping the upgrade fairy was hiding somewhere near NOLA. 

We are booked on the Northern Baltic for this summer. We are in a balcony and our daughters are in an interior. I may be inclined to Royal Up to a suite then...but havent heard anything about that sailing, as of yet.

We are sailing out of NOLA on the Majesty next week. We are Diamond, close to Diamond Plus and have never had the upgrade fairy come to visit.

We have never sailed any cruise line without sailing in a balcony. Im a bit claustrophobic and worried about not having a balcony on Majesty. Is Royal still giving surprise upgrades. I am hoping beyond hope for a suite w a balcony. I know the chance is very small but at least, I have a bit of hope...

Thoughts??

We did win a t-shirt a few years ago and have 

also won 6-7 key chains. Hadnt heard about the raffle tickets. I dont remember seeing that on our last two cruises which was the Anthem and the Independence.

Nervous about sailing without a balcony. This will be my 27th cruise and weve always had a balcony. Worried about claustrophobia...

Is there a dedicated diamond lounge?
