  1. Thank you CruiserBruce. I did call them and they stated that some reservations were cancelled and some were not. Ours were not, but I kinda wanted a recent guests perspective of how bad the property is after the hurricane and if they would suggest staying somewhere else or not.

  2. We have four rooms reserved for the night before our November cruise. I have heard that this hotel sustained damage during the hurricane, but the hotel claims our reservation is still good. Has anyone stayed there recently that knows how much damage there was? Would you stay there or find a different hotel?

Thanks in advance for any advice/information.

  3. I refuse to pay $200 for a hotel room. I am not cheap, but don't need a fancy room, just a nice clean hotel. We found rooms for our November cruise at the LaQuinta East for $120 (King Bed). They also have airport and cruiseport shuttles.

  4. We arrive in Anchorage early in the day and are staying at the Captain Cook. Does anyone know if they have a place we can store our luggage until check-in time? We'd like to tour the city without dragging our luggage around with us!!

  5. We arrive in Anchorage about 12:30 AM on 8/8/15 and will need a hotel room. We have a room at the Captain Cook for the night of the 8th before our Cruisetour starts but they want another $326 to stay the extra night. This just seems like way too much for a few hours' sleep.

I can get a room for around $150 with free airport shuttle. Am I being "too cheap" by staying at Hotel X then hauling our luggage to a taxi and going to the Captain Cook for the next night?

Also, does anyone have an estimate of how much it would cost to take a taxi from an airport area hotel to the Captain Cook? Do they have vans that can fit two couples and all the luggage?
