it's a normal thing for the big Oasis class ships. They hold out reservations for onboard booking. I understand you can book once you get onboard or on the app once you log into the ship's wifi (not the paid version, you can connect to use the app).
-
I recall seeing a recent report from Oasis that the beverage package doesn't cover shakes at breakfast (it'll work for the rest of the day though). Will try it out when I'm sailing and see what they say.

that's not an overpayment. The OP paid the price they agreed to pay. They're just annoyed the same cruise went on discount after final payment.

on the current Harmony cruise, they are listing "Pub Entertainment with Luca" every night.
It's likely just not there yet, I'm on 5/6 and they haven't posted anything for us besides the big shows.
They also have guitar with Jed (who is moving round the ship, never in the same place twice) and piano with Josh in Schooners except for one night when they have the "Gease" conductor (yes they spelled it Gease), Kevin, playing piano.
There's always one typo, on my last cruise they offered Cake Decortating.

i'm always suggesting "Chicken of the Seas" with a tie-in to Starkist, but it never happens

I have the Miami next month. It was 2 something but Southwest moved it to 10:15. I do have precheck but will have to check a bag with Southwest. I've got a friend telling me MIA is terrible and I won't make the flight, but it doesn't work if I get back to Baltimore after 9 pm either. Said I should cancel it and book another flight on another airline, but it's Easter Sunday and they all cost $500 and over.
-
I have a 10:15 from Miami. I didn't book it, it was changed to that. The next flights don't get me back until 9-10 pm and I take public transportation from the airport.
So I will have to try and make that flight, assuming I can walk off with my luggage and get a taxi.

I have a Vancouver departure on June 28. Canada apparently will be closing its ports until July.
My final payment date is March 30th so I'm going to hang in there a couple of weeks and see what happens

hotels and theme parks don't share circulated air for a long period. you don't see anybody talking about shutting down all hotels. Airplanes, on the other hand...and you're not on them for a week.
"The parks literally have no hand sanitizer anywhere."
They do now.
anyway I am guessing that all the parks (not just Disney) will be shutting down within a week. Disney will be fine eventually, but some may not recover.

Rode the tram downtown. Easy and not expensive. I would say take the ship's shuttle only if you are unable to walk down to the tram stop. Although I don't know where the shuttle picks up.

No insurance, I guess.
I would think there's some insurance that would cover cancellation with regard to the health of close relatives, including those who are not going on the cruise.
Not sure what Royal's insurance does but other lines might give a credit IF the cancellor purchased their insurance.

I usually cruise with friends, but I do have to travel to meet up with them. and we don't do everything together onboard, so yes, sometimes I'll eat alone or sit on the deck alone or go to a show alone. we might even do different port excursions. Maybe the ones who find that unusual are just jealous.

my guess is that Mr. Anello lifted the kid up to show her something outside the window and leaned her over so that she could look out, and now he doesn't want to admit it, even possible he blocked it out in favor of the "bang on the glass" story. Holding a doll is not like holding a real kid. They wiggle and sometimes resist.
Also, the incident did not occur in a "glass-enclosed children's play space." They were standing on the pool deck behind a bar.

it's not just that the person on the refreshment package should be able to purchase a drink, it's that in this case the passengers have told the cruise line, which requires everyone to have the same package, that the person with the refreshment package was medically unable to drink - so the line would make an exception to the policy that, admittedly, was put in place to make sure the packages weren't shared. So I'd kind of expect that there could be consequences if the person who claimed they were medically unable to drink alcohol buys themselves an alcoholic drink.
Anyway they must have changed from last year because I was told that not only do you need a medical exemption to get different packages in the same room, it needs to be submitted in writing.

I couldn't imagine carrying around 10 bottles of water in port, that stuff's heavy. A couple cans I can handle.
What benefits are they taking away from the packages? Water is still included, just in a different receptacle. I know, just on Vision so far, I'm getting on Vision on Saturday

regarding Mr. Anello, there wasn't anything wrong with the boat. there's a reason why you don't put kids on railings. Window or no window.
I agree, summary judgment is usually not granted at this point. And as noted the judge indicated why it wasn't dismissed and it has nothing to do with the content of the video.

if it makes a difference, the Mount Gay visitors center is not the actual distillery, although they do have a bottling plant there.
Foursquare is not especially close, it takes about a half hour to drive there from Bridgetown. they have a great rum tasting though. You will want to buy some bottles.

if they turn me away from the islands, I still have the $18 per day "computer glitch" drink package on the ship.

it's at 50 now because it's 20%, but my mother can't drink due to her medication, so I understand I can call and they'll let her have a refreshment or soda package and I can get the 20% off on mine. I'm about to make the call

had such a good time aboard Vision for Mediterranean and Adriatic cruise last year! Enough so that I've got her booked out of San Juan in February.

Assaults and robberies happen everywhere.
David Ortiz was a planned hit. Even if it was mistaken identity.
It isn't clear what killed the people who died recently. Waiting for the reports on that. (FBI is conducting lab tests on some of them at the request of Dominican authorities. But results won't happen immediately.)
According to the State Department, the actual number of American tourists dying there this year is not unusual. Dominican Republic is extraordinarily popular with American tourists because it's comparatively affordable. It's just the causes that might be different.
Right now if visiting from a cruise (I have one booked for next February) I wouldn't drink open alcohol and I would not go wandering around the island and I certainly wouldn't be driving myself there. Port area should be OK, if you want a drink make sure it's from a sealed receptacle.
No real reason yet to cancel it as a port of call.

I'll be there on the 4th also, with my mom who won't be doing tons of walking, staying downtown a few blocks from Pike's Market. I think she will be able to walk there and back. Maybe see fireworks. She can do elevators or escalators but not a lot of stairs, so it is good to know that there are elevators to the waterfront.

A service dog should only be sitting on a chair at a table if it needs to do so to perform its task. Sometimes medical alert dogs need to be extremely close to their handler in order to alert. I don't see any handler in the photo, so maybe it's cause to question whether or not this dog is actually working. A service dog handler would likely not leave the dog behind to go to the buffet, and would almost certainly not leave it sitting in a chair at the table.
ADA no longer covers any type of service animal except dogs or, in some cases, miniature horses. ADA does not provide for service monkeys, cats, rats, birds, ferrets or any type of animal other than those two.
Emotional support animals are not service animals. ADA doesn't cover the use of emotional support animals at all.

Late Flight out of Seattle, suggestions on what to do/luggage
in West Coast Departures

if they charge you for port valet, it's because your airline charges for checked luggage (if you didn't prepay for the luggage.
