  1. Hello,

Trying to make sure we get the lowest number of miles needed to fly from Auckland to Seattle in mid Nov of this year

We are seeing right now, 45,000 miles per person needed, one way, we have the needed 90,000...but we are not sure of the exact date of the flight..we are trying to figure out how long to stay in Auckland, after the cruise....

I do check Delta weekly for the flight and the needed miles and it has not changed

I even do a pretend reservation and say date of departure is for 2 months from now and the 45,000 is available..

Anyone have an advice on when to start getting serious about the flight booking?

    Thanks

  2. Timing is the key to finding any cruise deal, but it is difficult at times to know when to look, do you look every day on your fav web site?

Is there a day of the week when the cruise lines offer solo cruise deals...

Do the cruise lines offer solo deals close to cruising date or is it harder to find a solo deal when the sailing is close to leaving?

    Thanks

  3. I am seeing some cruises for July and mid August with some good prices for solos, but I am needing to book for a September cruise...is there a time frame that the cruise lines, release and drop prices for the Alaska cruise season?

I am wondering around what time I can expect to see some September or late August dates to pop up..

Is the final payment for an Alaska cruise 60 days out?

I live in Seattle and the airfare from a northbound cruse out of Vancouver to Anchorage and vice versa at 99 dollars one way..so between the air and the low cost of the cruise, it is a great deal for me, but just wanted to check as to when the cruise lines "might" lower the cost...right now, the 7 day cruise in mid July is 279 on NCL Sun, even if u double that, 560 + taxes and port charges amount to 800 dollars...

    Thanks

  4. I have found RCCL "Tuesday Happy Hour" offering some incredible Single supplements,,,,I am doing Australia 1-23-09, got air RT from Miami, 14 day cruise, oceanview for 3300 and a 200 shipboard credit. the airfare alone to Australia is over 2,000 or more.

I fly American to LAX, LAx on Qantas...

Also did 28 days on RCCL going from Fort LAuderdale to Buenos Aires, with air....3800..single supplement and when I got to the port in Fort LAuderdale they upgraded me to a balcony(that has never happened)...from an oceanview).

    The bargains are out there

  5. Do you call NCL after final payment and ask for the upsell?

We had an inside on the Spirit a few years ago and we called and asked for an upgrade and they said 400 a piece and we said no, it was to an outside cabin. They called us back and said 200 total...that was a big difference and we did the 200 total...

  6. 3 hours is good...we had 45 minutes after we landed from Rome and we had to deplane on the tamarac..get on buses, and then we ALL had to get off at Terminal B, even though the terminal we needed was A. We then had to get to A, in the process we had to go thru immigRation. Then we had to go thru a security search.. the people at Lufthansa were paging us overhead and we were stuck in a security line. We told the people we were being paged and they took us to the front of the line....WE RAN TO THE PLANE, LAST ONES ON...AS TO THE LUGGAGE, IT HAD AN EXTRA NIGHT IN FRANKFURT.
