  1. I have cruised with my kids when they were 10 months, 18 months and then older. I also cruised at 6 weeks pregnant and 16 weeks pregnant. I prefer going while pregnant. But not at 6 weeks- that sucked. Morning sickness hit and it was horrid. The smell and sight of any food on the ship destroyed me. Not to mention the rocking of the ship. So 2nd trimester is perfect. I ate all I wanted without feeling any guilt 😂

  2. We were on the BA in 2014. It was pretty bad. But we're going on it again in 7 weeks so take that for what it's worth lol.

I did not see anyone smoking by the pool, though. If I do I will say something. Otherwise we just find someone else on the ship to go to :)

  3. Good luck!!!

My girl is 6 too and is excited to be in the "big kid group" when we sail in a few months. We did some searching and found the kids club activity schedule and it made her excited. She saw things that looked interesting to her so that helped!

  4. I think it's up to you, you know your kids best. No way would my kids have sat in a stroller at 4.5 yrs. Actually we went to Disney last October when my son was 4.5 and he had little interest in using one. If it were me I would bring a baby carrier for the youngest one if the 4 yr old needed little breaks here and there.

  5. Following. We'll be going to Bermuda on the BA in October with my 3 kids. (7, 5 and almost 2 at the time). They want to do the caves and beaches. Going to look into the dolphin thing mentioned above!

Are the buses actual buses and not vans? I don't feel comfortable with my 1 year old in a van without a car seat but if it's an actual bus that's perfect.

We did the breakaway (to the Bahamas) in 2014 when my kids were 3 & 4. They loved the kids pool. They were potty trained but there were many, many swim diapers in there and I can't say I ever saw any get kicked out :/ My 4 year old likes the kids club but my 3 year old not really. He went a few times but they called us to come pick him up shortly after. My 4 yr old likes the one show, burn the floor I think?

  6. My older 2 and 5 and almost 7. They don't nap anymore but we do rest time on vacation before getting ready for dinner. The 5 year old, especially, needs it. He will fall asleep sometimes. The 7 year old never but she does like the rest and break from it all and will sometimes read a book.

  7. I've been thinking about this recently. We cruise for a week once a year. I took my daughter out last year and this year. So, kinder & 1st grade. No problems. We have another planned for October, she'll be in second grade. She'll be at a new school though and I hope they don't give me a problem. kimd of nervous about it now :/ My son will be in kinder.

Think around middle school we will stop pulling them.

  8. Good reminder OP!

Our last cruise my daughter was 5 and my son was 3. I brought a cot for him because I didn't feel comfortable with him in a top bunk. I knew he moved too much. He was also afraid. We're cruising again in October and he will be 5 & a half. Still debating if I'll let him sleep up there. I think he's calmed down the moving around now and will be okay :)

  9. We just do things near port or take a bus because I'm not willing to get into a taxi without car seats. Sure people can say they didn't use one and their babies are fine/they didn't use them growing up & they're fine but that means nothing. What about the parents who didn't and their kid got in a horrible crash? It happens. I'm not comfortable living with that regret. We are going to Bermuda (docked for 2.5 days) and my baby will be almost 2. Buses only for us. My older two will be 5 & almost 7 and I'd still be uneasy about them riding without anything!

  10. We've done Both. My kids liked both. They liked the kids club on Norwegian quite a bit better. It was much bigger and more activities. However, this isn't really a fair comparison as it was the breakaway vs the pride. If it were me I would make my decision based on price (so many perks on NCL right now, we just booked for the kids sailing free & beverage package) and the ports.

  11. I'd just suggest making sure you take the life vest for her to your room if that's where she ends up sleeping. I figure it'll be like the umbrella that you carry around and never end up using, but if something happens, you'll be glad you have it.

Omg I was going to mention this but thought people might think I was nuts! Yes, I will! Thank you 😊

  12. Sorry if this has been asked, I tried to do a quick search but baby is about to wake up so don't have too much time...

We're a cruising family but now that we had a new baby we are a family of 5. We're ready to book our first cruise as a family of 5. My parents are coming as well. We are thinking of booking my oldest in their room as it's quite a bit cheaper that route. She says she will sleep in their room but if she's over tired I can see her whining and wanting to come back to our room. Will this be a problem with the room stewards? I know most rooms are not set up for 5 people so I don't want to get in trouble if she wouldn't be allowed to sleep in there. Do they care where people sleep once on the ship even if it goes over the room capacity? Or am I overthinking this? Thanks all!

  13. We were in a family inside cabin on the Norwegian Breakaway. The only differences that I noticed from a regular inside cabin was the location (same floor as the kids club) and the fact that all the rooms around us were families with kids also so it wasn't loud at night with drunk people but we heard the kids up early on either sides of us. Pick your poison ;)

  14. I went on the breeze 2/23/14 and their were several toddlers wearing swim diapers under their swimsuits and no one said a thing (im aware they aren't allowed, i was surprised to see the children in the water)There weren't any mini slides on the breeze.

Same. Ive been on 4 cruises now with kids (cruises before we had kids i never sat at the kiddie pool obviously lol) and i've yet to see the no swim diaper rule enforced even ONCE. On the pride last year there was a kid who was about 6 wearing a pull up in the main pool!
