  1. I do not see why we as a customer need to use any VPN provider when all Cunard should do is direct us to their .com or .uk and any other English website we want. Every other company does, so why Cunard REFUSES to is for obviously their choice. They obviously and arrogantly refuses to alter their site.

  2. We sailed on another cruise line from Cape Town via Perth to Sydney and never had to pack our belongings up when we reached Perth so that the room can be deep cleaned when it reached Australia. So as others already said, I would not worry about it and wait to see what is said on the ship. I doubt very much you will be made to pack and unpack if you are staying in the same cabin.

  3. Formal nights on Costa are not really formal unless you consider men may wear a jacket or an ironed shirt with their jeans as opposed to non formal nights where jackets are not warn and shirts are less pressed. There are still a few, and I mean a very small number of guests who do dress, so if your inclined to do so, you will not he the only one as you will see about three or four other couples dressed as well. Dress as you like and enjoy.

  4. On the world cruise earlier this year, we brought a couple of cases, handed it to the sommelier and enjoyed our voyage. We were naturally charged the corkage charge, but were pleased to pay it as we drunk what we wanted.

  5. Why 'How sad', if you are aware of the dress code and are not happy, don't go on Cunard and whinge as the rest of us are not overly interested in hearing about your disapproval when you knew from the start what their policy is.

There are many cruise companies that you will be much happier on, if formality is not your thing and there is nothing right or wrong it. Most of those who sail on Cunard, do so for among other reasons, the formal nights, so let those who enjoy it, get on with it without having to hear from the moaners all the time.

  6. Cunard is pretty relaxed about bringing wine onboard. The $23 charge for corkage and service fee is no big deal depending on the particular wine being drunk. Cunard understandably has a huge mark-up so if you are planning on drinking reasonably expensive wines, it may pay to bring them with you and happily pay the fees. More importantly, you drink those wines you enjoy as opposed to what is available at any given time.

  7. When bringing a case or two of wine (including port) on board, do you give it to the sommelier the day of embarkation who will store it for you and at dinner ask him for a specific one, or do you keep it in your cabin and each night only bring the bottle down to dinner that you want to drink.
