Hi everybody,  my husband and I are on this TA.  First TA for us, but not first time cruising the area.  We typically do private tours as we find them much better.  We are using Spain Day Tours also.  We have joined the half day tour in Lisbon to Fatima, that has been previously posted, so hopefully we get enough people to make it a go.

For Malaga we are going to do the full day tour called Malaga to Costa del Sol also through Spain Day Tours.  The cost of this tour 69 euros per person.  They require a minimum of 14 people (max 18) so I am hoping that we get 12 more people to join us and make it a go. The description for this tour is as follows:  "Visit the highlights of Malaga, explore the white village of Mijas, browse the charming shops in Marbella, and glimpse the luxurious lifestyle of the rich and famous in Puerto Banus.  This tour covers the highlights of the ‘Sunny Coast’, an ideal day-trip for those wanting to see the best of this famous stretch of coast in a small-group setting and a light atmosphere."

If anyone is interested in joining us, you can contact the tour operator directly at www.spaindaytours.com and ask to be added to Anna D'Alessandro's group.

  2. My Carnival PVP told me yesterday that there will be 3 new common spaces on the Horizon, however she hasn't been given any info as to what those spaces will be. Anyone want to venture a guess? Hopefully no new dining venues as I think there are enough already!!

  3. We are sailing on the Vista in less than 2 weeks time and one of our ports of call is Kusadasi, Turkey. For those who have been, what is the best currency to carry while in port? Do the vendors at the local bazar and shops accept either US dollars or Euros, or do they only accept the local currency? Do not what to have to make one additional currency exchange for this port if I don't have to! Advice please.

  4. My younger son will be turning 15 one week after our July Vista cruise. What experience have people had with him joining the Club O2 group given that his birthday is so close to our sailing? I know he will not want to be part of the 12-14 group having completed his first year of high school as he will have little in common with the younger kids.

  5. We have cruised with Princess, Carnival and Disney and usually pack suits for the 3 males in my family. Having said that, we will be in Europe for over 3 weeks this summer and packing three suits will take up too much room in our luggage. What I will likely do is pack dress pants, dress shirts and ties for my husband and 2 sons for our July cruise. For me it will be easier because there are many women's cocktail dresses out there that don't take up any room at all!! So it's not that we don't like dressing up but given our extended itinerary, it's not practical.

  6. So does prepaid cheers still get charged VAT?

Hi everyone, I'm wondering the same thing? We sail on July 9th and although Izmir hasn't been cancelled yet for our sailing, I fully expect that it will. Does anyone have experience with this?

  7. Sailing on July 9/16 - 10 day European from Barcelona!! It will be my husband and I and our 2 boys (16 & 15). Second European cruise for my husband and boys, 3rd for me. We were on the Breeze in 2012 and really loved it. Really looking forward to seeing the Vista and the design changes they made to her!!

  8. We always book 2 side by side cabins for our family of 4. Because the children are minors (15 and 13) we book one parent and one child in each cabin. In reality my boys sleep in one cabin and my husband and I in the other. It has never been a problem for us and we always get an extra room key for the boys cabin so that we can access their cabin whenever we wish. We are doing just that in a couple of days on the Regal.

  9. I recall from my readings that a punch on the coffee card is good for gelato (or a sundae or a crepe) but you can't use your all inclusive beverage package card for it (although I wish I could!!!! - I'd love to be corrected on this one)

    Hi Kelly,

We will be on the same Regal sailing. :D

  10. Hi Kbarnum,

I asked the exact same question yesterday understanding fully that it is not stated on the Princess website but knowing that some had reported successfully using it for gelato. We leave on the Regal in less than 2 weeks and also wanted some recent passenger experience.

  11. Hi everyone,

We will be on the Regal in two weeks time and plan to purchase the Ultimate Beverage Pkg (Alcohol). Can you get gelato from the gelato shop for free using that card like you can using the coffee card (using one punch of coarse)? I remember reading mixed experiences and was wondering what recent experiences people had on the Regal.

  12. Thank you for your review of the Regal Princess. We will be on her in 3 weeks and really looking forward to seeing this new lady.

As far as kids on Princess ships is concerned, we will once again be travelling with our 2 boys (13 and 15). We have done Disney and Carnival with them also, but their preferred cruise line is Princess by far!!! Maybe it is the time of year that we travel with them (always holidays or spring break) and therefore many kids their age on board, but generally they prefer the food and ambience of Princess better then the other 2. They are extremely well travelled and appreciate the finer things that Princess offers that sometimes isn't available on ships that cater mainly to families.

  13. We sale on the Regal in March and booked this as part of the Regal Sale-A-Bration promotion which included the free dinner and a bottle of champagne. The booking summary had it however now that final payments are made and I go into the "Travel Summary" in my booking, it doesn't show anything. I guess I'm going to have to call my PVP at Princess and have her send me the confirmation to take with me. Will post here once I get a response from her.

  14. Does anyone know what the new "chocolate specialty drinks" that are available for the 50th anniversary celebration cost? Are they $10 or under therefore included in the beverage package? We will be on the Regal in March and will purchase the beverage package as it makes accounting so much simpler! No need to keep tons of receipts for comparison with our on board account.
