  1. Hello experts!

It is my first time cruising out of Tampa next week. We are staying at the Marriott Water Street, which looks like it is very close to a streetcar station. We are leaving on Monday morning (Feb. 3rd) and sailing on RCCL Brilliance of the Seas, which leaves from Terminal 3 at the port.

I thought this would be a neat and economical way to get to the Port, but wondering if it is actually possible!

    Thanks in advance!

  2. I agree to most that have suggested the Oasis class ships! There is so much to do from the kids pool area, carousel and other things on the boardwalk, mini golf and more. Plus my kids (6 year old twins when they went on their first cruise, Allure) loved the shows in the Aqua theater and the ice shows. Also you can't beat the price if you can get in during a Kids Sail Free promotion. We are going on Harmony in October--they will be 8.

  3. They had no record of my first cruise on the Song of Norway. They asked me for a picture of me on the ship which, luckily, I had of me on the gangplank with a sign that said Welcome! Song of Norway! I emailed it to them and voila, 7 points added to my cruise points. This was about 7 years ago so their requirements might have changed.

I was just wondering about this! My husband cruised with his family on the Nordic Prince back in about 1990. Well fast forward to 2008 and we stared cruising. We are now 3 points from platinum and we are thinking about contacting C & A to get his points from that cruise added to bump him up! Maybe this is not possible and we have a 5 night and a 7 night planned in 2019, but I thought it would be cool to be platinum. If that doesn't work, maybe his parents have a picture of him on the Nordic Prince!!

  4. Hello!!

I am arriving for a Sunday cruise on Saturday afternoon. It will be my kids first cruise and I thought I would like to take them to see other ships departing the port on Saturday afternoon.

I would also like to take them to be beach for a quick visit!

Maybe there is a good public beach to watch the ships leave? (Two birds/one stone)

Any recommendations would be appreciated!! Thanks!

  5. I'm following this thread as we are taking our 6 year old twins on their first cruise in October! We have been watching lots of YouTube videos about the Allure and they are learning EVERYTHING about it--it's hilarious!!! They know all about the boardwalk and kid pool (H2O zone) and mini golf and my son is very excited to try the"car game" they show in the arcade!!!!

  6. I am wondering about this too! I did notice in the cruise planner you can purchase credit for the arcade ($25 credits for $20). Has anyone done that?

And just so I am sure, my 6 year old can run up hundreds of dollars in the arcade!! I guess I had better keep an eye on him!! LOL!

  7. I check mine every few days, It's gone up about $1,100-$1,200 since I originally booked because I got kids sail free for my 2 girls. Looks like that promo is gone now, so unless it comes back, I think I'm set at what I've got currently

Me too!!! That kids sail free is great if you can swing it (our sailing falls during fall break!!) I am not going to beat that price...of course I still check!!

  8. There is a concrete road between the beach and the fence! Apart from being a road where cars are driving people stand in the road and hang onto the fence and get blown by the blasts of the jets for a thrill despite the warning signs on the fence! If you stay on the beach you are fine! Very sad someone lost their life!

  9. I just compared prices and it looks like Park N Go is about 45% less than the cruise port terminal parking (if you reserve online ahead of time). We usually fly in but with no good prices on flights (yet?) we may be driving this time. Looks like we will give Park N Go a try.

Hey Thrifty....we are in the Nashville area too and going on Allure this October!! We will also be driving and I have heard good things about Park'n'Go!! We are also looking at getting a hotel that has parking as part of a package. Lots of good info on the Florida Departures board!

  10. Taking my kids on Allure in October and entertainment just opened up and I am making reservations for shows! We have early/main dinner seating.

Can anyone tell me if there is My Family Time dining and/or Adventure Ocean the first night? That is the best time option for Mamma Mia (8 pm) but my 6 year old twins won't sit for the show? The other options for Mamma Mia is 5 and 9 on two other nights!

    Thanks!!

This is the only other one I have on my phone. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the inside, but I do not remember it being any different than the regular boardwalk ones.

Hey JimmyM....it looks like you are the lowest level of balconies....could it be deck 8? Not to doubt you!

I just booked a similar stateroom on the 10/8 Allure sailing....3rd from the aft starboard side....8725 I believe is the number!

    Great pics!!

  12. I am traveling with a group on Carnival Vista next June. We are up to 6 couples. Do they have large tables that fit 12 people? Carnival website says 10 is the biggest--but I thought I would check here!

If you have traveled with groups, have you been able to be accommodated in the dining room!

Just looking for info from cruisers!

    Thanks!
