  1. The biggest perk of a suite on carnival is the bigger space. You get priority embark/disembark & tenders, 1 bag of laundry, couple bottles of water and guaranteed your preference of dining time. There might be some others but they haven't stuck in my mind.

They have thrown a few of the FTTF perks and a few of the platinum/diamond perks together but not all of either for suites.

Since when do suites get 1 free bag of laundry? Is that shown somewhere on Carnival's website? We've been staying in suites for the last several cruises with Carnival and have never gotten free laundry. Have we been missing out?!

  2. We have had a couple of aft balconies and although the view is great, we found it much too hot to be able to enjoy the balcony. They had full sun almost all day and barely any breeze at all. We had a regular aft balcony on the Freedom the end of July/beginning of August and a corner aft suite on the Sunshine in February. I would much rather have a side balcony with shade and a breeze.

  3. I know I've seen the answer to my question on here before and I tried using the search feature. But the search feature was no help....it wouldn't search just within Carnival and all it would bring up was roll call threads.

Anyway, my question is, hiw much is the mid level internet package if you buy it onboard for the whole week (8 day cruise)?

I know I can buy it before the cruise at a supposed discount of $10.25/day but that seems to be about what we paid for it onboard for the week a couple months ago. Doesn't seem like much of a discount from the weekly rate.

  4. I know there used to be 2 differentsegway tour companies in St. Maarten. Both located on the Boardwalk. I'm pretty sure one clised up as their website doesn't work anymore plus I read that they closed in several reviews. But, dies anyone know if the other is still open? Their website is still up and running but I've filled out the Contact Us form twice and no one has gotten back to me. I think they are called Caribbean Segway Tours but not sure. Their website is st maarten segway dot com.

    Thanks for any help.

  5. I'm confused. You get a $30 credit but are charged $15 for each bag of laundry. That's only 2 free bags but on 7 day or longer cruises you are supposed to get 3 free bags. Or is this referring to a shorter cruise? We leave this Saturday on the Sunshine and this will be my first cruise as platinum and I will be taking advantage of the free laundry.

  6. We had 2 Ocean Suites booked on the Breeze for Aug 27, 2016. They were side by side because my husband & I were in one and my daughter, SIL, and their 2 sons were in the other.

I just checked online, they have switched my daughter and her family to a Grand Suite because the Splendor doesn't have Ocean Suites that will accommodate 4 people. They put my husband and myself in an Ocean Suite 6 cabins away! Not acceptable. We won't sail unless our cabins can be side by side and we can open the balcony dividers. It's easier to have access to each other's cabins that way because of our grandkids.

So, I called my TA who called Carnival. The Splendor has only ONE 4 person Grand Suite with an Ocean Suite beside it and they were able to switch both our cabins to those. Thank goodness!

I was told that the sailings on the ships involved with the switch are currently closed to the public. They are only dealing with getting the passengers that were already booked on those 2 ships switched. Because of that, the prices are being "protected". Meaning right now, everyone is showing the same prices as they had before the switch.

They anticipate opening up bookings to the public on Monday. Once that happens, they will know what the new pricing is for the Splendor and you can make any necessary price adjustments then. They do anticipate the Splendor to be cheaper than the Breeze.

I hope so or else we may be cancelling and moving to another cruise. We do NOT want to pay Breeze prices for the older, smaller, no 2.0 Splendor.

  7. My family is sailing on the the Divina this Saturday (4/4/15). This will be our first time with MSC.

We usually do self debarkation on other cruise lines and I'm wondering if MSC does this as well? About what time can we expect to be off the ship assuming there are no hold ups with customs clearing the ship? I'm trying to figure out what time to schedule our shuttle to pick us up and take us to the airport.

    Thanks!

  8. Hi,

We are thinking of booking a VE Balcony on the 8/26/15 sailing of the Eurodam to the Baltics.

My question is, are all the VE balconies the same size or are they different on different decks? Looking at the deck plans, it looks like the balconies on the Navagation Deck might be deeper than the ones on the Rotterdam Deck. Is this true?

I remember seeing something somewhere that gave the different balcony dimensions but now I can't find it.

If anyone has this info or can tell me where to find it, I would be grateful.

    Thanks!
