  1. This is interesting. Last week our excursion in Montego Bay was 2.75 hours later then the published times. I was curious what if we left ourselves an hour or so and had a massage booked?

We also had a Panama Canal tour through the locks that was 2.5 hours late returning (I understand the tours are at the mercy of the canal authorities).

As they say. Ship does happen!

I am sorry for hijacking thread for a minute.  AND if someone already wrote about this tour I am sorry too as I have not read through everything yet.

We were able to do a tour called the Scavi tour but booked so far out as they only take a few people an hour.  It is an underground tour of the Vatican where we saw an area containing. St. Peter’s bones and so much more.  This was the highlight of our Vatican Day.  Planned it for first tour.  You write them on the “contact” heading with possible days.  Only 13 euro each.  THEN, the best part is that you can go immediately into the Basilica from end of tour.  No waiting in that line.  It may be already full or not work with your time, or you could be claustrophobic.  It was amazing.  The line for the Basilica was huge when we finished and came out.  Here is a link:  http://www.scavi.va/content/scavi/en/biglietto-di-ingresso.html

I can agree! We did this in the fall of 2019 and one of the most unique tours we have ever done.

  3. I had the same issues. Return from Barcelona on AA was ticketed with I requested early ticketing. My flight to Rome on United was not. Princess/EZAir kept saying that United was ticketed as well. I had previously called United and they assured me that it was not. After going through the process of speaking with a rep with Princess for 25 minutes they finally transferred me over to EZAir where I waited another 30 mins to speak with someone - then after an hour of being on the phone it was finally ticketed.

There are reports on multiple online media (here, Facebook, etc.) that virtually everyone is having issues with the app today, especially with their boarding group choices having disappeared. I feel especially sorry for those people who are boarding today. As I've mentioned elsewhere, we've been having multiple issues with the app for a few weeks. Our Princess Vacation Planner has been pushing the folks who run the app to remedy the issues and, miraculously, as of last evening all our issues seemed to have been fixed.  And then this morning, the app was freezing again and our boarding group selection had disappeared. We don't board for another couple of weeks, so can be patient for a while longer, but it is incredibly frustrating.

One thing someone else suggested, which we have now done, is if/when the app starts working again, take screenshots of your QR code, your "green lane" status, and even any Dine My Way reservations so that at least you'll have some record if the app crashes again before boarding.

Fingers crossed that they will get this fixed SOON! 🤞

Once it is up and running - I will do exactly that. I dont know call me crazy but when it comes to travel I prefer paper - it never lets you down.

Have to get there early to get one, tho'.

And careful, one of the seats has a "view" of a column. 😱

Yes! And despite us telling people who want to sit in that one that you can not see anything. They still insist! Then 30 seconds later leave.

jimbo, I sometimes don't agree with your posts, but in this case I think you're spot on! Either shut down all transportation or none! To focus on cruising is foolish and shortsighted!

Agreed! We been saying this for weeks. This industry is being attacked! When airlines were still flying, theme parks still open etc.

They do not have to report to the CDC

The United States Government should bail out the three major cruise companies. But they should not give them cash or other things that will cost the taxpayers money. Very simple way to do this with no costs to the US and great benefits.

Allow them to do cruises with their Foreign Flagged ships from US Port to US Port with no required Foreign Port. These types of cruises are not allowed under Passenger Vessel Services Act, some people says Jones Act but the Jones Act is for Cargo.

The Passenger Service Act fines the crew line almost $800 dollars per guest on the ship if they break the rules. The answer is really very simple. The US Government waves these fines for a set period of time. Maybe 6 months to a year.

It would allow ships to go from the West Coast to Alaska without stopping in Canada. They could do East Coast Cruises with no foreign port call. Houston, New Orleans, Tampa, Key West, etc.

Once the United States is clear of this virus it would help the US ports and the Cruise lines, it would allow guest to cruise without passports and stay within the United States.

Even very seasoned cruisers would be interested in these cruises which are never offered on very large cruise ships. Except Hawaii Pride of America. Other cruise lines could do Hawaii cruises too. It seems like a win win to me.

I think that is a very interesting idea. It would sure help the economy in those cities up the coast.

  8. Just because they were on a cruise ship does not mean that this is where they contracted the virus.

I do not like turning on the TV and they are blasting the cruise industry because of this. A very small % of the overall numbers could be because of cruise ships. However when you have people on air planes, and theme parks and everywhere else, it is just the cruise industry being 'blamed'

  9. We just got off the Crown this morning. We were only on the 10 day sailing so we did not need to worry about arrangements.

The entire time, if you did not watch the news other than the crew serving at the buffet you would not have known there was an issue anywhere!

It was nice and relaxing and quite frankly we still wish we were on board

Thank you, lisamic, for your added comments.  I love the idea of nearby restaurants full of locals. That’s always a good sign!

mrgame101 - Enjoy your vacation!  Looking forward to hearing all about it when you return. Safe travels!!

    Good Afternoon!

Sorry for the delay- I did not want to type much on my phone screen on the ship. We returned home Monday from our cruise.

Our 6 night stay at the Hotel Canada was wonderful. Our communication with them pre cruise and requesting a specific room was honored. We arrived around 930AM and they did have our room ready for us.

The hotel was exactly as it was the 2 years previous. Well kept and maintained and all the staff were professional and any request that we had was met. I do know they have several room categories we opted for the deluxe and felt that it provided a bit more room. The breakfast is excellent to get the day started. You are close to bus stops and 2 metro stations within easy walking distance.

There is a gelato shop that is less than 150M from the hotel that was amazing and yes tons of local restaurants nearby.

Any questions please feel free to ask!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday!  6 Nights!!  Lucky you!!!

If you get a chance to check in again when you  get back,  I’d love to hear anything else you’d like to share about HotelCanada.

Did you find it the same as your last visit 2 years ago?

    What was the weather like?

Did you happen to notice if the HOHO bus stop was close to Termini station?

Did you enjoy any restaurants within close walking distance?

Thank you for your previous post.

(Looking forward to your update when you return, if possible)

    Hello!

Yes I forsure will let you know. We have had some communication with the hotel - specifically requesting the same exact room as we liked the location, and needing to extend our stay arriving earlier and the responses have been prompt.
