  1. Celebrity Infinity, September 2-9, 2018

    CABIN #: 6135

    DECK #: 6

    CLASS: C1 Concierge Class

AREA: Port side aft, second stateroom aft of the Aft Elevators.

    BED NEAR: Bathroom, Facing Forward

    QUIET?: Yes

    BALCONY VIEW: Port Side, unobstructed

BALCONY SIZE: Larger than usual because of Royal Suites on either side. Only the first 1/3 of the balcony is covered. You can see balconies on the decks above easily, and they can see you.

    WIND A PROBLEM?: Nope

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: Nope

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The stateroom is adjoining with Royal Suite 6137. As a result there is no loveseat, just two smallish chairs. Noise from the adjoining cabin was not an issue. The balcony had two chairs, no footstool, no lounger, one small round table. We did see a lounger in a picture from the previous cruise, so you might have to ask the steward.

  2. I think you were in muster station D1/2 - Rendezvous lounge. I was there too.

The muster drill did run long. Not because of us - we were missing only 1 person and only 2 cabins were called out.

That’s about what I usually experience on M-Class muster drills.

I’ll be happy that the room holds that many people if we ever need it.

  3. The M-class ships had a longer loop but the installation of the Deck 11 Aqua staterooms caused a break. There is still a smaller loop around the pool area on Deck 11. The old loop path down the port side is still there with a turnaround at the new staterooms.

  4. Interested in this also, looking to connect my firestick to back of tv. From searching this forum it seems like this is possible if I disconnect what's in the HDMI port already and also the internet cable to TV.

Is this info correct for the Summit in a regular cabin?

    Here’s the trick.

    1. Turn off the TV.

    2. Unplug the “phone” style data cable from the back of the TV.

    3. Plug your device into any HDMI port.

    4. Turn on the TV using the front panel controls.

    5. Use one of the dots on the left of the panel controls to switch input.

The provided remote won’t work - you have to use the front panel for volume.

To reverse it to normal, turn off the TV, plug in the data cable, turn the TV on again.

  5. I managed to get my stateroom flat Samsung to work with my HDMI connection. Here’s what I did.

    1. Turn off the TV.

    2. Disconnect the gray phone-style data cable from the back of the TV.

    3. Turn on the TV using the front panel buttons.

    4. Use one of the dots to the left of power to change inputs.

The room remote won’t work, so you have to use the panel controls.

This worked for me in a Concierge Class room on Infinity last night.

  6. But do you understand that it is a security hazard (see the coastal guard link on previous post). Electricity on ship works differently than on land (there is no "earth"), and such protectors assumes land and specific dangers (thunderstorm). They work fine, until there is a problem: on shore, they will protect you and the devices, blocking surges, but on ships (old houses, campers, ...) they increase damages, and so the only hope it is a fusible (or a melting cable) before fire.

If there are forbidden items, there is a reason. In this case it is not to make you buy on ship stores.

I stated a fact. Nothing else.

Do you know how the electrical system on the M-class works? Is it Delta?

If you don’t know, then kindly back off your insinuations.

  7. I boarded the Infinity about 10:30. It’s now 1 and at least 5 waiters have already asked me to buy a dining package or drink package. Including DURING the Concierge lunch.

One guy found us on the Rooftop Terrace. He was carrying a tray and a drink package brochure. I told him I had a premium package but asked him for a Coke. He told me to go to the bar and get it myself.

    This is really intrusive.

  8. We will be returning from a Canada New England cruise on Sunday, October 21. The ship is supposed to dock at 8:00 am although I would assume it might be a bit earlier. We will be doing self disembarkation and getting off as quickly as possible. We also have Global Entry so aiaport security clearance time should be minimal. I know Bayonne is fairly close to Newark airport. Any thoughts on a 10:15 am flight time?

I live here. That’s cutting it way too close.

  9. Generally speaking, a cruise that leaves from one US port and finishes at another US port requires a full passport. But I think there was an exception made for Puerto Rico. Perhaps some more googling should be done. But it could be that the exception was to the PVSA requirement to visit a distant foreign port.

I questioned Mr. Google and came up with this 'related' question from the US Passport site, which should answer the question, although in reverse:

    https://www.us-passport-service-guide.com/do-children-need-passport-to-travel-by-cruise-from-puerto-rico-to-new-jersey.html EM

    That’s not the government site.
