I am also enjoying this thread Emperor. And yes, you shouldn't have ordered fried lobster!

We used Smiths last year from Southhampton to London and were extremely pleased with their service. http://www.smithsforairports.com

We did this cruise with Azamara several years ago. We loved the itinerary and would highly recommend it. HAL used to do this cruise (maybe still does) and I found lots of info on ports and excursions on their forum.

Hi Granny ZZ,
We used DenRus last June for 2 days while in St. Petersburg and they were excellent. We did not have to pay for the tours ahead of time. Payment was at the end of the 2nd tour. We were able to use US dollars for payment as well as for tips to the guide and driver. You and your husband should feel very comfortable booking with them.

Hi mushroom - great topic! I agree with drib - "The Path Between the Seas" is perfect for your itinerary. Another non-fiction suggestion is "The Boys in the Boat" by Daniel James Brown. I couldn't put it down.
Thanks OctoberKat and CwazeAndCwaze for your suggestions - I'm anxious to check them out.

We were on the Quest for Halloween in 2011. Only the crew (mainly the entertainment staff) were dressed in costume. They had a party in The Club that evening around 9:30. The entertainers sang and then everyone danced. If you enjoy wearing a costume for Halloween, go for it. Otherwise, you will not feel out of place without one.
