  1. Thank you for the info.

Butlers..... do they still do the Room Service - - course by course?   Back in the day I remember we had Ram as Butler once, and then Rikki. Both phenomenal.     We did dinner in suite 3 times...and each time they literally brought it in - course by course.

  2. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has knowledge about this particular suite?

Specifically - how "private" is the balcony.  If someone is using the hot tub is it private or can neighbors, or people in balconies above you see?   Any other opinions on Royals on Infinity I'd appreciate. Thanks

  3. Greetings and salutations all......

There was a time I was a yearly cruiser, had some lovely experiences on Celebrity  and the amazing Penthouses.  Then I felt the experience was being watered down - and the combination of higher fares coupled with cuts made a once great thing "good".   So I took a few years off cruising and just did other vacations.  Anyhow, Starting to have the urge to see the sea from the ship yet again so I thought I would check in with the experts here.....

In general, how are things Celebrity these days....especially food, service, and the entertainment shows?

More specific....curious if anyone has been on Infinity recently, and especially the Penthouse in Infinity.  How are things on Infinity these days and how was Butler service in the PH?  (3 years ago when I cruised the Butler was more interested in telling me what he couldn't do.  ).

Any observations or experiences I would really appreciate. Thanks

  4. Ok, this is a stupid question.

Anyone on Silhouette PH recently and if so, how was the air conditioning -- AT NIGHT, OVERNIGHT?

I ask this because EVERY PH I've been on which is now (5) total on Summit and Mercury -- - the PH is nice and freezing during the day. But at night - I swear it gets warmer.

On EACH SHIP by night #4 we find the "right guy" who claims he can "adjust something downstairs" and then it's better.

Wondering if this time I should just start lobbying for this on minute one, or if the OVERNIGHT air conditioning is cold in the Silhouette PH.

Also, any comments on recent butlers? Thanks

  5. My experience is that they are pre-cooked sitting in a serving pan. They get very upset if you ask them to cook you up a fresh one and try to talk you out of it.

I always ask them to butterfly a hot dog for me and put it on the grill until it get those grill marks. They don't appear to be happy, but do it anyway.

I ask them overtime for a fresh one and yes, they get annoyed. I RARELY RARELY give staff problems and I've had multiple butlers and others tell me candidly I was one of the nicest least demanding ones they had. But on the fresh burgers and dogs - yes, I make them do it. Last cruise I had a casual convo with FoodBev manager and he said to "use his name" when asking. -- and I did - - and it worked.

I wish they'd just tell staff: Look, if someone asks for a frigging burger, just cook it! They aren't demanding Maine lobster.

  6. Hint: Experienced "mast grill followers" know that you should ask for your hamburger directly from the grill....not from the bin of greasy, already cooked burgers.

French fries are good if they haven't been sitting there long.

It is a great place for lunch and if it's a nice day, it's a great place to have the boarding lunch, away from the crowds who flock to the buffet.

YEP! This is one of the very *few* times I give staff sort of a hard time. Most cruises I politely ask for a fresh burger or dog and at least TWICE they gotta point out that there's readymade ones in the bin. Really annoys me.

  7. Hi Chemmo.....

I hear you, vis a vis food quality. Believe me.... I am a pretty easy customer and traveler. You are taking to a guy that absolutely passionately loves fancy restaurants like Burger King and McDonald's (seriously). BUT one of my few picky traits is I want my food nice and hot so believe me.....especially with a nice meal room service isn't my #1 choice.

But I'll have 2 young kids and this will be our first vacation with no nanny or my parents to watch the kids. AND....as *much* as I'd probably take some guilty pleasure in being one of the many rude people who bring little kids to nice restaurants knowing it will cause noise for other diners....I'm not quite up to doing that (yet). (5 year old has some ADHD issues and after the 1st 20 minutes of the meal, we're screwed)

So room service is a treat. Past butlers have done marvelous course-buy-course from MDR. This time I'm really hoping to do that with Luminae and Tuscan Grille.

  8. I should know this having done many suites with Celebrity but for some reason I just don't remember.

Will a Penthouse Butler do room service from an alternative restaurant such as Tuscan Grille or Murano or Luminae?

    Thanks

  9. Some of the more recent Silhouette dailies here show that Luminae breakfast hours are from 7:30--9:00. Seems a bit early in my opinion - - it should be open till 10 but I digress.

Does this mean they "seat" people till 9am? So if we walked in at say...8:45am for breakfast....are we still able to order off the full menu, and linger there past 9am to eat?

    Thanks

  10. Hello Everyone.....

Going to to Silhouette Penthouse later this week out of Fort Lauderdale.

1st time on this ship or any S-Class so wondering if there's any general comments re Silhouette and PH? Also, anyone familiar with who the PH Butlers are these days and how they are?

Do they still do room service dinner, course by course?

    Thanks
