  1. I've always went in August/September. We just got back from a cruisetour August 23rd. and the weather was beautiful. We had two rainy days, it didn't rain enough to keep you from doing what you wanted and one morning that was foggy. The rest of the time it was great. I agree, luck of the draw.

  2. We are staying a couple of nights in Seattle after our Alaska cruisetour. I have always just got a taxi and walked around Pike Place Market area, but want to see more of Seattle this time. I have our room booked at the airport Hilton and know the light rail takes you downtown, but what to do then? Are there other means of transportation like the hop on hop off bus that I can meet up with after we get downtown and what are the places not to miss. Thanks in advance!

  3. IMHO the best excursion in Ketchikan is Crab Fishing (demo only) on the Aleutian Ballad of TV's "Deadliest Catch" series. Crew members demonstrate the different fishing techniques seen on the series in addition to all of the behind the scenes stories of the filming. Very informative and funny. In addition to the demo, the boat will stop near an eagle nesting area to feed the eagles and I mean MANY eagles. The ship has covered bleachers and overhead heaters with wheelchair and scooter accommodations. The swooping eagles are a photography bonanza.

    I enjoyed this excursion also!

  4. I have a question. We are flying into Vancouver the evening of July 31st. We are going on a Holland America cruisetour. Our itinerary shows to stay at the Vancouver Fairmont Airport Hotel on August 2nd. and take a flight to Whitehorse the following morning. We will have the 1st. and 2nd of August to tour Vancouver. Would it be easier to stay at the Vancouver Fairmont Airport hotel on the 31st. and 1st. or stay downtown. I haven't booked it yet but plan on maybe taking the ferry to Victoria one day and maybe the second day the hop on, hop off bus. It seems like it would be easier to stay at the airport hotel and not have to move bags and such.

  5. We are arriving noon on the 28th. This is scheduled for the 29th. of November. I just want to make sure we can do this. Would the hop on hop off bus be a better choice? With limited time in NYC and limited time to figure this all out, I am just wandering. Is the area we are staying in safe and is taking the train safe. Is it better to not take the train in the evening? I have so many questions.

  6. I have reservations to go on this tour, it leaves at 10:00 a.m. at 7th. Ave., between 50th. and 51st. Street, behind the winter Garden Theater. We have a room at the Hilton Penn Station in Newark. How long will it take to get there and should I look for another tour that would be easier to get to. I have never been to NYC and just afraid about getting there on time.

  7. We will get there about noon on the 28th.. would need a room for two nights for two people. We like to stay in a hotel that has a restaurant/bar onsight and in a good area. That is not much time to see a lot in NYC, but would like to see all we can. Thanks for your response.

  8. We are cruising out of Cape Liberty on Anthem of the Seas on Nov. 30th. and have never been to this area. We are flying into Newark, N.J. a few days early. Where to stay, what to do, transportation to port and back and is a 12:25pm flight home to early. Thanks!
