  1. I'm with the other poster on the jeans. It is very hot and humid and jeans is the last thing I would want to be in. But again, that's just me. Go for light and breathable and I second the hat. I always wear a military style ladies cap anytime I go inland and it's a life saver.

  2. I have sailed on 5 NCL ships and there are things I love and not so love on all of them. The Epic was my least favorite. But I would sail on the Epic again, if the itinerary is what I'm looking for. There was nothing to make me swear off of sailing the Epic, it just wasn't my favorite ship. I truly missed the promenade deck and I could see the loss in customer service on the Epic because of the capacity. Again, nothing to stop me from sailing her again. It was just an observation from the other ships and the interaction with the staff. No matter what....A bad day on vacation beats any good day at work :D

  3. KSC is amazing. I would go to the KSC website and look at everything they have to offfer. You can select the exhibits you want to see and it will give you a time frame of what it normally takes to walk through. This will give a very good idea of how much time you should plan on being there and what you want to see most. When I was there in January we hit Atlantis as soon as they opened and then took the bus tour we booked. Once we got back from the tour we went and hit all the spots we wanted to see. All in all we were there 7 hours, but we are space nerds :) Have a great time!

  4. Love KSC! Went there in 2008 and just visited in January and with the new exhibits since 2008, it was a great day! The Atlantis exhibit is amazing! We spent an entire day there before the cruise and booked everything directly with KSC. We did the behind the scenes tour along with all the exhibits. We didn't book through NCL, because we came in a day early and that is what worked for us. If you go, I hope you have a great time and utilize the KSC website to plan your visit. It breaks down how much time is needed for each attraction and it will show you what you can plan on seeing based on your interest and your time frame.

  5. Maybe its my age (60) but I think ripped jeans are not disgusting. Sorry!

NCL will probably let you wear them and I hope you have a great cruise.

I'm with you! I'm 41 and have some adorable ripped jeans that I bought that way and they can make a really cute outfit. No dress for me just because I'm 41. I'm taking them on my cruise next week!

  6. You can either do it on your tv in your cabin (I would suggest as soon as you get to your cabin) or else you can go to the box office on deck 6 forward when it opens. The box office usually has a long line so would be best to do it in you cabin.

Also, sign up for any comedy shows you want to see on your tv the first day. We tried to do it the first night and they were already all booked.

Thank you so much for the tip, I really appreciate it! We will hit the TV as soon as we get to our cabin :)

  7. It depends on the ship you're on and the passenger load.

We were just on the EPIC, didn't get advance tender tickets and couldn't get off until 11:30. It totally sucked.

There was no open call for early off. They started with people on NCL excursions and maybe some other priority people then started calling the letters.

Get yourself tender tickets asap. You don't have to get off when they call, you can go any time after they've called your number.

That said. We had "P" and they told us we had to also use "P" for Grand Caymen. We went when they called "E" and we were going to play stupid if they called us out on it. They didn't. We walked off onto the boat, no one said a word.

Hello! I have a quick question for you as we are sailing on the Epic next week and have only sailed to GSC on the smaller ships. Can you get the Tender Tickets on the first day and I wasn't sure if you get them at Guest Services or the Shore Excursion Desk?

    Thanks,

    JollyCruise

  8. Looking to book a provate tour with them. Anyone have any good info, pics, options of where to go. Also a price for 2 people

Hello! We are booked with Marva through Know Jamaica tours next month. The price she quoted us for a private 2 person tour was $150.00

  9. I just wanted to come back on this thread and share that I finally found a pair of seamless panties that I just absolutely LOVE. A friend of mine recommended them. They are by SaraMax and called: BestFittingPanty

I actually found a pair at Walmart of all places. I bought one pair of black briefs, which actually fit more like a boy-short not a granny panty.

They are by far the most comfortable pair of undies that I have ever worn..... and, ding-ding, no panty lines. SCORE !!!

For anyone interested, they come in briefs, bikini, hi- cut and t-back. The colors that I saw were black, white, grey, and a few mixed in colors like sea-foam blue, and a shade of pink and coral.

I bought one pair on Friday, just to try, and ended up going back yesterday and buying out every pair in my size. From what the sales lady told me, they are hard to keep in stock due to being so popular.

    Here is the link: http://www.bestfittingpanty.com/best-fitting-seamless-lace-romantic-hipster

BTW: they were a bargain at under $5 per pair. They had some really cute bras and such.

    .

I had to come back to this thread and thank you personally for the link you provided! I have been looking for good fitting undies for a long time now after Target stopped carrying my favorite ones. The undies I bought from this site are perfect!!! Thank you for sharing! They are no show, comfortable and don't go into wedgie mode .

I got the hipster ones and love them, now to get back to that site and order some more!! :D:D

  10. Do you think there is a chance they will use another ship for the long 10/11 day crusie. We like the longer ones and look forward to them in Feb ...I think there are going to be alot of upset people that there isnt that option now for 10/11 day cruise !!!

I was on one of the cancelled ones and wanted to book another 10 day cruise in January or February and there are non now the the Pearl has been taken out. The only option is a 7 day. I called NCL just to see if by chance there would be any 10 day's on another ship and they said No. There are ones out of NY, but that is not something we want to do. We want a 10+ day out of Florida. So know on to figuring out plan B.

  11. On our last cruise we were standing at the elevator waiting for it to arrive at the floor we were on. A gentelmen stood next to me. We were all looking up at the number watching it go from floor to floor. A lady walked up to us and asked: "Are you waiting for the elevator?". Without missing a beat the Gentlemen said: "No lady we're waiting for the bus!"

I could not hold my laughter in and just let it go! :D

  12. I think my son may take the cake on this one....He gained 17 pounds on our last cruise which was a 10 day. He's 18 years old, plays football and lifts weights all the time. The amount of food he can consume is amazing. He even kept a food journal on his phone and here is what he ate:

102 Hot Wings, 9 Calamari, 13 Salads, 6 Cheeseburgers, 5 Sandwiches, 3 Seafood Pastas, 20 Crepes, 8 Breakfast Buffet Plates, 1 Chocolate Mousse, 8 Jellos, 9 Lunch Buffet Plates, 6 Fish Fillets, 10 Cake/Pie slices, 1 Dinner... Entree he can't remember, 4 Cheesecake Slices, 4 Rib Eye Steaks, 1 Shrimp Cocktail, 4 Creme Brulee, 3 Chicken Fillets, 2 Appetizers he can't remember, 5 Bakes (in Dominca), 1 Unkown Dessert, 1 Souffle, 1 Shrimp Platter, 1 Seafood Ciopino, 1 16" Pepperoni Pizza, 1 Chicken Sandwich, 4 servings of bar nuts, 5 Strawberry Smoothies, 2 BBQ Ribs & Shrimp Platters, 1 Nico Pasta Platter, 4 Croissants, 1 Waffle, 2 Egg Breakfast Platters, 2 Panna Cottas, 1 Chicken Parmesan, 1 Flounder, 1 Parmesan Crusted Chicken, 1 Flan, and 1 cupcake.:eek::eek::eek:

Without a doubt we got our moneys worth on that cruise!

I gained 4 pounds on this one.

  13. The worst thing to happen for me is when they tell me I have to leave the ship :(.

For my son it was on our last cruise. We were in Dominica and we stopped by to visit Mr. Nice and his fruit stand. My son had some coconut in his mouth and then Mr. Nice said something that made my son laugh. When he laughed a piece of the cocnut broke free and shot up into his sinus cavity. Once we were back on board we could see the pain in his eyes. His poor face was swollen for at least two days and he was in so much pain. That darn piece of coconut was lodged in there for almost 2 weeks before his sinus cavity became clear.

We now laugh about it and always give him crap anytime he eats anything with coconut in it :D.

  14. Enjoyed your review. Will be on the Sun in 2 weeks. We plan on going to the Boatyard in Barbados also. Could you give more info on the free shuttle to the ship? It would be nice not to have to take a taxi if we didn't have to. Glad you had a wonderful cruise.

    Hello LTC!

They start the free shuttles around noon or 1pm. Once you're done just exit through the little gift shop and the vans will be there in the parking lot waiting. Once they get a van full, they leave and take you back to the entrance of the port. Enjoy your day there! I suggest getting there sooner than later as the chairs filled up fast and get a chair away from the little pier. Right under the pier is where the barkers are that try to sell their snorkeling tours and jet ski tours. If you have a chair near them, you have to listen to that the whole time you're there. :D
