May I just add that my DH and I had an unfortunate incident last Feb that caused us to have to leave the ship first before anyone else left. There were some other folks also and don’t really know why they weren’t at the appointed place at the correct time but long story short, we didn’t leave the ship til 7:45 and no one left before us!

Just pointing out that unforeseen things can happen.

HI! Just responding to you after our trip. WE appreciated your detailed information. We were in Warnemunde/Rostock on July 20. Weather was perfect. Train trip was uneventful. Ended up just buying a ticket to Rostock only, cheaper than the Lander ticket, as we decided not to go on to Schwerin. Your directions to the church were so helpful!! There is no way we would have found that church for Mass without your help. We went to the 10:30 family service and the children participated. Must've been something about summer church camp or something--they were cute.

Walked into town, which was pretty much deserted on a Sunday, had lunch on the waterfront and just walked around, trying to follow the map in the booklet I'd purchased so we could get a little more information about what we were seeing. It was helpful.

Anyway, got back to Warnemunde to bump elbows with the rest of the cruisers there--there were plenty of them, and returned to the ship in time for dinner.

Thank you again, so much for the valuable information.

We had lunch with Kel and Joyce the day after they boarded, on our sea day, and found out they had a nice visit with you. Would have enjoyed getting together with you as well, but understand you cannot be everywhere!

Keep up the posting--very valuable information!!

Thank you SO MUCH for the info on the church and Mass times. I'm sure we can make the 10:30 in Rostock. We enjoy going to Mass in the foreign countries we travel to. We've been in Spain, Italy and Germany. It is just like attending Mass in Latin as we did in our youth, pre-Vatican II. Your directions should help us walk right to it!!

I couldn't open the attachment.... we don't have Microsoft Office, but that tis okay. We will look around when we are there.

Thank you again for your info

Spicy Red sent me to your site, and helpful, it is!! We are in Warnemunde mid July on the Royal Princess. Going by train to Rostock looks quite easy. Am I correct in reading that just the day s-bahn ticket is all we need to go to Rostock and return to the ship? It looks like you can also travel around the city of Rostock, and Warnemunde with the same ticket. Is that correct? Is buying your ticket on-line cheaper or just more convenient? Can you walk to the train station in Warnemunde or should you take a taxi?

    Thanks for your help.

  6. As one from the Solstice from the 'witness protection program' I would like to say that I was very happy to meet you on the ship and then 'bump' into you and Penny on the street in Aukland. I have finally found time, after the laundry was done, to check in on CC and found your blog.

What a treat to see your lovely pictures? I especially enjoyed them because they were mostly places where I didn't go! Brought back many good memories of a fabulous trip. I certainly hope we have the opportunity to 'travel' with you again,

  7. I just printed off my confirmation from Segway Antigua. I am happy I was able to book as there was not an offering of segways from my ship, the Enchantment. Someone on my board replied that the roads and sidewalks in Antigua are 'uneven' and a challenge to manuveur, but I hadn't heard anyone else comment on them. I'm still looking forward to the excursion.
