12/1/18 for a "big" milestone birthday party. We are booked with several other people.

The prices for the European sailings are outrageous. The transatlantic prices are reasonable but they are the same old, same old ports. Looking for something different. Guess I will have to look at other sailings, like on Royal.

We did and it was fantastic...

We had wonderful excursions with Smart Cruise Tours. They were waiting where they said they would be with a sign. We had fun and learned a lot. We have had excursions with other companies that didn't quite go as well as we expected, but this time is was fantastic. I would and will use them again. I have them booked for our December cruise on the Silhouette. We were a small group and used small vans. Bigger transportation is harder to get around in. They can't get into the local areas. They have to drop you off and you have to walk. That is why we don't use the cruise line excursions. They are always large buses and you really miss out.
I think people should look past a bad day or one bad experience and try not to influence everyone else. We read everything there was to be read about this company. We found them to be very communicative and did exactly what they promised. We used them just a month ago.

Thank you for all the excellent information and pictures. We will be visiting Venice for 2 days in 5/13 and will definitely do the waterbus on the canal. Venice is at the top of my bucket list and can't wait to get there.

Received an extra hour off from work today. Woopie...just stopped at home to pick something up before I go and pick up the grandchildren from daycare. Wednesday is my day to pick up.
We wish those who are celebrating Thanksgiving, a healthy happy holiday. We will be with friends. My daughters will be together as my oldest lives quite far from here and Larry and I both have to work on Friday. We never manage to be together for Thanksgiving - just other holidays.
Our next voyage is the Voyager of the Seas. Have to get over to that board soon and see what is happening there. I will be sure not to volunteer...just keep low.
Best to all of you,
Darlene

We have been home a week now. Laundry is almost done. Have worked the entire week - yuk - and could already use another cruise. Have to wait until April - yuk too. It was very nice meeting all of you. Sherry & Ivor, could not believe how many times we ran into you on the ship. If we had planned to meet, it would have never happened.
Have not even looked at a picture we took. Maybe tomorrow. Just bought an Adobe Photo Shop program at Costco. First we have to download it and then we can load the pictures on to the computer.
Take care and look forward to seeing all of you sometime in the future.

We will keep that NC nice and warm for George...Love you last comment.

George, I have never seen a Pinnacle Pin yet. We were last on a cruise in Feb and the one pinnacle person on the ship didn't have her pin yet.
I think the NC corner is getting very crowded. Since I train the workersw who sits next to me, I now call it the naughty chair. They returned a worker to me who was there for 6 months, put her some place else, but she got "lost" and brought her back to me a year later. You guys are really rubbing off on me.
Can't wait to see everyone again.

Well, I just spent some time going back wards and skimming. I wanted to know why George was so upset. I also went to the facebook page and couldn't find anything. George, if those people stopped spending so much money on booze, maybe they could cruise more. It has taken us a long time to get to D+ and we intend to enjoy every bit of it. This is our first official cruise as D+ - we have our pins, luggage tags and are ready to be recognized. We have also spent a lot of money getting here but that was our choice. Larry and I have enjoyed your company on all the cruises we have been on together. Jealousy is a very hard pill to swallow. Too bad that people have to be so rude and nasty. I was just commenting on the other board how great the thread has been and there has been with no real arguments or disagreements. Now this...well don't let them rattle your cage. You have been through a lot and deserve all the good things in life. See you on the ship.

Sherry....we bought the Ipad2 so that we didn't have to schlep the laptop. We bought the laptop so I could have it on board the ship and not have to use their computers. So we now have 2 new PC's (one is mine, one is Larry's), a fairly new laptop and the Ipad. We will be bringing the Ipad as it is really neat and does a lot of stuff. We bought the 32G with the 3G but beginning to believe we will never use the 3G. Most of our friends already have wi-fi and the Ipad just picks it up once you put the code number into it. I presume the Ipad will work like my lap top does, on the ship, and you just add their wi-fi to it and we can get our email.
Everyone I speak to who has the Ipad says they won't use anything else but...the only thing is that it doesn't have flash and I can not "farm" on it on Facebook.
Sherry, there are stylus utensils you can use to type. I am having no problem typing although I like to type fast and in typing position. It is like a hunt and peck typing. Larry is having a wonderful time with it and hopefully after this session with Ade, we will know a lot more then we know now. We have the Ipad2 for dummies book and Larry has been reading it.
Hey, looking forward to seeing everyone again. There are so many people on this cruise that we have sailed with before. It has been a long time, no see. Look forward to meeting everyone else that we have never met before. Can't wait. Have started the packing process by bringing everything to the staging area. Now I just need to take back half of it.;)

(been going back and scanning older posts on this thread...have been so busy, I have not been able to keep up with either thread)
Sherry, we just bought an Ipad2 and bought and adaptor device that allows us to download our photos right to the ipad. You just take the card out of the camera and it fits into this device and downloads the pictures. Where the pictures go, that is another problem. There is a scheduled Ipad class that will be held on one of the sea days by Ade. If you want to join the class, you just have to let him know. He will send you a link for your Ipad for the class. Here is the schedule of events that will be taking place on our LOST cruise. There are also 2 luncheons that have been planned but the days have not been scheduled yet. They are waiting to hear from RCL on dates. So far, no one has confirmed a date with the person who is setting up the luncheon. I am doing the mini golf so I hope everyone will come out and join us.

I also have a Verizon Blackberry that before I leave, I turn on a global plan so I have my emails, instant messenger, and my blackberry messenger. I believe it costs an additional $25 or $30 for 2 megabytes plus my normal plan. There may be another cost involved but I am able to get all my email, instant message with my girls if they are on line, email with friends from work if they are on line, and use the free minutes from Royal to do other things...
We now have an Ipad2 that we will be taking with us on this cruise. It has 3G capability but we won't turn that one on because my Blackberry will have global capability. Since the Ipad2 has wi-fi, it should work on the ship.
Count us in for any party that is going on...Please...
Sherry, I believe in miracles and you have experienced one right before you eyes...

Just dropping in...have been posting on the other boards. I do have an acquaintance who is celebrating her brother's existence as he works for the Port Authority and came down to the 44th floor to buy coffee for his fellow employees 10 years ago today, got off the elevator and the plane hit the building. It took him a long way to find his way out of the building but lived to tell how he cheated death for the 2nd time at the World Trade Center. He was also in the building when they bombed it in 1993. I also have a very close friend who was hungry before lunch in 1993 and left the building at 11:30 instead of 12:00 and missed the bombing.

Found the facebook link. Have added our hello to it.
Am recuperating nicely. No paid, just some soreness when I first get up or first sit down. Get tired very easily so I am not doing much. I have a lot of paperwork I want to get through before I return to work. Playing retirement is fun right now but is not for me quite yet.
Thanks for thinking about me. Belated birthday wishes to whomever I missed. If I missed an anniversary, belated wishes there too.

We have electricity but have damage too. Our neighbors tree decided to fall this morning. It was a huge ash tree. The path it took was right across their backyard, wiping out their new fence and smash on top of our deck at the slider doors. It didn't even damage the screen to our slider but it wiped out the rails of our deck. We do not know if we have structural damage to the deck and won't know that until they remove the huge limbs that fell on top of it. Guess I will call the insurance company tomorrow. There are two other trees that are swaying in the wind and look like they are about to come down on top of our house. We had someone come by the house and he gave us a price to take down all the limbs on 3 trees and remove all the tree damage from the storm. The price was good but I am trying to get another price from someone else to know how good it really was. If the other company doesn't call back, I will give this guy the job. We already know him. He put in our driveway last year and did an excellent job. This is the tree part of his company. Cha ching, cha ching...
Off to have my gall bladder removed in the morning. Will post again as soon as I can sit comfortably.

Sandy, I did the same thing that you did. I sold some gold jewelry when it was a lot less an ounce and wound up buying something different and paying a little bit more money. I usually bring it to my jeweler in New Jersey. I have gotten such great deals from him on other stuff that I can't complain. Right now I want to keep everything I have. I should go through the stuff at the bank but I am afraid I will be upset after selling it. I will let my daughters and grandchildren have it and then they can sell it.
Great sell Joyce.

THE ITALIAN SECRET FOR A LONG MARRIAGE
>
> At St. Mary's Catholic Church they have a weekly husbands marriage
seminar. At the session last week, the priest asked Giuseppe, who was
approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share
some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all
these years.
>
> Giuseppe replied to the assembled husbands, 'Wella, I've a-tried to
treat-a her nice, spenda da money on her, but besta of alla is, I tooka her
to Italy for the 25th anniversary!
>
> The priest responded, 'Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all
the husbands here! ?Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for
your 50th anniversary?
>
> Giuseppe proudly replied, 'I'm agonna go get her.

So glad everyone is o.k. We don't need any more things happening to any of our cruise critic friends.

Just found the new post because Gay posted something about our 3 Manchester guys on the other LOST thread. I didn't realize the thread moved. This is the 3rd thread to have closed that I am involved in. I found all 3 but I almost missed finding this one.
Please keep us posted on what is going on in England. I will be checking back in later tonight.

Marty, what did you do in Funchal, Maderia Portugal? BTW..the Equinox was a great itinerary...and the private tours were great. Jerry's Eqyptian tour was excellent even though he was not there. He never made the cruise.
I am asking the question of everyone, what should we plan to do in this port? I plan to contact Daniel really soon but need to know what to tell him we want to see.
