Thank you! When you have cruised essentially the same ship for 10 years, even choosing what type of balcony cabin ( regular veranda, edge, concierge, prime, aqua) took a bit of research and finger crossing ( we chose a guarantee).
What are the best open air spaces to enjoy aside from the sun deck? Are there some good escape the crowds spots that are outdoors or with a view ( and not our cabin balcony)?
I appreciate your help.

Hello, my spouse and I (54/56) have been loyal RCI cruisers until our B2B in January where we decided it was time to try Celebrity. We are cruising the Ascent in February and really not sure what to expect. We have pretty much sailed Oasis class ships since the Oasis was born and love the open air and spaces. What are some of tips, tricks and things we should know for our first time with Celebrity/Edge class ship?
Thank you in advance- I am also doing all the reading I can to prepare.

This is not what you asked however we just got off Symphony can in 14140 and heard major noise from chairs being moved above. It was pretty bad.

We too sail on the 5th with a pending status and I have not been able to cancel or change it for about a week and a half. I pretty much think we will be one of the never get an answer either way bidders. Oh well, we are happy with our original cabin choice.

We have stayed at Hyatt House several times. It works for us and there are stores within walking distance.

The Abyss is the 10 (?) story dry slide on the Harmony. I think I remember the diamond lounge being inside.
Both are awesome ships.. just depends on which port you want to sail out of and the extra $$$. Oh, the Harmony does have a bunch of hand washing stations before entry into the buffet and solarium. I saw them in other areas too. Again, not a deal breaker.

Just paid $19 for a mat however it was worth every penny as it was HOT!

My spouse and I just returned from the Harmony yesterday and had this conversation many times during the week. I agree.. the cabin layout on the Harmony is much improved and the Abyss is awful.. what a waste and how it ruins part of the Boardwalk. It is a beautiful ship.
I would cruise on any of the three (Oasis, Allure and Harmony) and have not strayed for the past six years but if the cost is that much more I may pass on the Harmony. Hubby said he would choose the Harmony again simply due to the cabin layout ( he loved the two closets). I like cruising from PE versus PC so it is the Allure or Harmony for us.

Just got off Harmony and did the BOGO. What I did not know is we had to use the BOGO the first two nights. Book as soon as you can.. the times fill up fast (at least Chops, and 150).

We just returned from our cruise on Harmony. I agree.. the Abyss has ruined the boardwalk! I loved the bar outside of the aqua theatre on the Oasis/Allure. The slide is an eyesore that is just in the way. Not an improvement in my opinion. PS.. although we did try the water slide, I am not a big fan of that either. The extra layer to the solarium is nice.. used up all the wasted space in the front.

My January 14 th cruise on the Oasis was the 5th on that class of ship. We love it and are having a hard time "downsizing". We love the Oasis/allure and can't wait to try Harmony next year.

We have stayed on deck 8 twice in the "hump" cabins. I loved it, very close to the park café. Great location and very, very quiet.

We have sailed the Oasis/Allure the past four years and have taken the 8 am flight each time with no problem. We do the self disembarkation and usually are at the airport before 7. It is a risk but has thankfully worked out for us.
