  1. We have 2 cruises booked in 2025 - one of them is showing all the drinks packages available and the other one is only showing water packages - no classic or premium package.

Does anyone know why that would be and if there is any way to get them added onto my planner as an option to purchase?

This is both on the app and also when I sign into the website via a pc

  2. We absolutely love select dining- it gives you so much more flexibility- we find we often end up sitting next to the same people many nights even though we always go for a table for 2 - it also means you are not stuck at a table with an annoying table mate every night if you have ever had that experience!!

  3. Hi Carol

We did this tour with celebrity earlier in the year.

You drive to the funicular in the bus & then go up on the funicular while the bus goes up via the road.

When you get up to the top it is really just the views however the day we were there we couldn't see anything as it was really cloudy.

We all got back on the bus and did one other stop on the way down but again that was for the views.

We then went to the sake factory which I must say was about the biggest waste of time - you sit and watch a video which was really just advertising & then go for a tour to see how they make sake but it was just a staged display with mannequins at work! You did get to taste a few different sakes at the end of the tour.

If we had the choice we would have done a different tour as this one didn't offer very much at all.

    Enjoy your trip.

    Paula

  4. My understanding of obtaining foreign currency from the Purser is that it is charged to your onboard account (usually in US$) and ultimately your credit card upon settlement at the end of the cruise. It is normally amalgamated with all other charges to your onboard account and not specifically itemised is therefore not regarded by your credit card company as a "Cash Drawing" attracting higher interest rates. Unused foreign currency notes may be used to pay off your account by handing them back in. Cruise lines do vary and not always offer all the currencies, however a fall back option at ports is to draw local currency at ATMs using a debit card from shoreside locations. I like to take more than one card in case the machines keep them.

    Regards John

    Thanks john

That's exactly what I wanted to know - I do carry a couple of different avenues to access money too - there would be nothing worse than loosing your card in a very hungry machine on a weekend in a foreign country!!!

  5. Rather than exchanging at Guest Relations, would you consider an ANZ travel card or similar? You can pre-load with multiple currencies and lock in the rate so you know what you're getting before you go. It would be a much better rate than onboard.

Thanks for your suggestion - I do have a multi currency card but we are going to Korea & Russia & they are not standard on the cards hence wanting to get these currencies onboard

  6. Pkw and vikstar. Did you buy the cruise via Celebrity or via a TA. I found that when I booked through TA that I could not do some things direct with Celebrity such as upgrade Drink package

    Hi jveevers

We always book direct with Celebrity but even with if you book with a TA you should still be able to go onto the website & buy a gift for yourself which can be onboard credit

  7. I looked at menus and pictures from the main dining room and may switch as the food sounds good. They offer an amazing onion soup and also have potatoes. Blue does not offer any kind of potatoes (at least that I could find) for breakfast or dinner. 11 days without potatoes would give me the shakes.

If you want potatoes then just order them - we had the steak one night in Blu and I just fancied some chips with it so they brought us a bowl of them for my husband and I to share - they are very happy to help you & get used to your preferences - just sit back, relax and enjoy.

  8. OMG. When I first read the title I thought of people running around the ship naked. It never occured to me that you all were talking about the Euell Gibbons type people. :o

I'm with you AZbeachboy - that was my thought too when I read the title so had to have a bit of a giggle when I realised I was totally wrong!

  9. I checked my credit card & the charge wasn't there so I have phoned Celebrity today & purchased onboard credit with them directly & have received my confirmations so I am a very happy cruiser.

Thanks so much to everyone (well nearly everyone - the first response was not what I expected) I knew there would be some knowledgable people who would be able to answer my query.

  10. Is this a serious question? A 30 second search on google for currency exchange and you'll find what you're looking for. As of today the exchange rate is aboutA$81c:US$1. Not too difficult to work out.

It is a serious question - believe it or not I do know how to use a currency converter.

If I buy them today at $25 Aud however they don't get delivered until the first day of the cruise (which is the only option we seem to have) - the exchange rate could be very different then - which exchange rate do we get? Today's rate or the one at the time on the cruise?

  11. I have never been on a cruise ship so please bear with me if this seems dumb. Is it safe to use the safe in your stateroom when you are off the ship? I have rarely used safes in hotel rooms because I was nervous about their security.

We have never had a problem with the safes - we always start off the cruise putting everything away in the safe but by the end of the cruise our camera, phone, iPad etc are all left out in the room and we have never had anything stolen.

  12. Got told by X Oz the only way we can upgrade is on Board the ship.

We will wait and see, but I am inclined to think it will be no problem.

I got the same answer from X in Oz - she said they had got an email saying they couldn't upgrade to the premium package as their computer system couldn't handle it as they don't normally have the beverage package promotion but there would be no problems upgrading it once we are onboard
